First Day Out With The Legend

Recommended Posts

So today I went out for the first time with this machine and man it was a lot of fun. I’ve been playing with this legend at home waiting for the day to come but it’s been so rainy and wet

well, the heck with the rainy weather and muddy grounds, I could not wait any longer 🤣🤣🤣🤣

So there I am tinkering around with settings and just getting the hang of it

field mode, 60 tone on m2 , 0 IF, and discriminated way high cause this park is completely trashy so I need to clean this place up,   So I figured to work my way down. Right now I’m stuck with the lg30 because that’s what it comes with so I just set my recovery high at 8 because I’m not really looking to go deep.

this thing is an animal man😂. I felt , I don’t know, connected? Yeah connected.
it turned out pretty good as far as pinpointing but I don’t use the button for that. I just move my coil back , turn and repeat.
I was excited to to put my coil over 1974 half dollar and the thing damn near blew my eardrums out 😂😂. I found a ton of pennies and clad in the beginning but as I started lowering my discrimination I went into the pulltabs 👏🏻. And omg there’s just so many. Anyway I just felt like sharing this being that I’m still fairly new to the hobby and it just felt really good to be connected to this machine

1974 half dollar

Nice job and congrats -- I still haven't pulled a half dollar yet. That's a great find for the first time out on a machine!

Great first time out, JD!

Keep in mind hunts don't all turn out like that, and also to laugh when you dig a pull tab 🤣 someday one of them might be Spanish silver. Or a gold ring. 🤔 I'm totally serious. Try not to discriminate too much, instead learn the tonal nuances. 🙂 Changing too many settings will cause you to not know what works.

Heck that looks like one of my beach hunts this past summer, toy cars, clad and big coins.

Keep it up! Are you hunting a park, or home?

Yeah I know.  I wish they were all like that😂 and i agree with you about the tones but there’s literally to many targets and it sounding like a machine gun and it was killing me😂

im hunting a park that’s literally 1 minute down the road and i never see anyone metal detecting it which would explain why so many targets.

after a while I really did open it up with a discrimination of 10 and even played around in pitch which I actually loved because I just dig everything anyway 😂

Glad you are enjoying the Legend. I found a Kennedy half second time out with the Legend at a parks volley ball court. Try the 20 kHz frequency too.  Keep playing with it and happy hunting.
