Just a few things on the gpx6000 . I always charge my battery when I get home from detecting. If your detector sit for 3 or 5 days before you go out charge up the battery to get that 8 hours. Because of snow last week I was working a low elevation patch picking up crumbs. Later in the day EMI got really bad so Iran in auto 2 no threshold to my surprise I picked up 3 more smalls in what I the quiet mold.

I have have also used no threshold around high EMI environments to help better hear through all the noise chatter, just keep in mind that you are still missing the fainter signals with no threshold on kinda a double edged sword though.
