  2. Hello All, I just received in one of the best looking Minelab GPX 5000's. Customer had it all covered up, no scratches. The unit comes with 2 coils, still have some warranty left on the 3 year. I'm asking $3000 OBO. Like I said, this unit is nice looking and for $3000 you can't beat having one of the most versatile detectors on the market. Also, remember just about every aftermarket accessory and coil is available to use on this GPX detector. Contact Rob at - 623-362-1459 LAN or 602-909-9008 cell or text Email - rob@robsdetectors.com Thanks for looking, Rob
  3. Hello All, I'm listing this for a friend that does not have access to the internet. He purchased a new GPZ 7000 about 2 years ago, but never was able to get it into the field. He put the unit together, but never was able to get it out of the house. If you have any interest, please contact Brian at 520-904-9025 (Southern Arizona area) to chat with him about it and pricing. I'm sure he's willing to make someone a deal, but remember he purchased it at $8000+. Thanks! Rob
  4. yea, if you've got the broken off piece you could just use some Weld on glue to stick some cut to size acrylic on both sides to toughen up the ears and just use a longer bolt/nut. I use this stuff by Weld-on, it chemically bonds the two plastics together so they become one, so not a glue as such more of a solvent cement. Weldon Acrylic Glue - Cambrian Plastics Weldon Acrylic Glue (SCIGRIP 16) is especially formulated to bond acrylic (poly-methyl methacrylate) plastics. It can also be used for bonding styrene, butyrate, PVC, ABS and polycarbonate, as well as other plastics and porous surfaces. SCIGRIP 16 is a very high strength, clear, medium bodied, fast curing, solvent-type acrylic cement. Applied to cast, molded or extruded acrylics, it will affect initial bonds very quickly so some parts may be handled within a few minutes. Bond strength continues to develop very rapidly reaching a substantial level and forming strong joints within hours. This product may be thinned with SCIGRIP 3 by approximately 10%. Initial bond forms very quickly so some parts may be handled within a few minutes of application. Joints are water and weather resistant and will generally have similar physical and chemical properties to acrylic plastic.
  5. After 5 months of trying to repair and replace parts, it looks like they are just sending me a new machine. I'm glad this will be over soon.
  6. It is literally in the first post of this thread that 1.47 is the current firmware version for the Axiom.
  7. I would like it if they made the blasted individual tails of the charging cable longer. It is difficult to hook all three items without having to either tilt the coil up or remove the RC from the base.. PIA

  9. I have made it a habit to always carry the charging cable and a good sized rechargeable battery pack in the truck when at the beach. Also have usb connections in the truck. If/when I take a break/lunch I put the whole thing on charge... Even 20-30 minutes adds a couple hours hunt time..
  10. To much surprise it was grunting on these little guys but with those quarts specimens it does not grunt at all. I still use my ears more then the grunt and new these little guys were gold even tho there was some grunting present.
  11. How about you fill your new forum with knitting, jam recipes, photos of miniscule specks of gold, dribble about your grand kids, lots of mutual back slapping and kissy kissy? Add some armchair experts and admin that have never made it as real prospectors and you will have a perfect replica of Australia's number one (so called) gold forum. Yuck!
  12. That sure is a tiny bit! I would love to take the M8 to some of my old beat to death gold patches. Good to hear it's doing a great job.
  13. I think this coil is definitely finding smaller pieces of gold. I have found 4 gold toe rings and pieces of gold chain all in the wet sand since I got the coil a month or so ago. I hadn't found a gold toe ring in about 2 years and all of a sudden...4. Also, lots of open earrings that are normally difficult to find. Taking it inland for a few weeks to see how it performs.
  14. Sorry, he has taken his entire channel down so the video is gone for good.
  15. Things are looking good for us in this hobby..Minelab, Nokta, and hopefully soon Garrett are all jockeying for position...lol Competition is good!
  16. Even tiny, tiny gold. A .06 gram flake with the M8. And I know of much, like, MUCH smaller bits being sniffed out by the M8. - Dave
  17. Put your feet up Steve and let AI do all of the heavy lifting.....not just website creation but instant debugging and maintenance as required......just don't ask me how this is done 🤪 My son is in IT and all things cybersecurity and it's now becoming part of many websites. https://nilead.com/article/a-beginners-guide-to-ai-tools-for-debugging-and-optimizing-your-website-code If there's a cost involved then I'm sure members would be happy to chip in a few dollars.
  18. Super nice finds! Can't wait to try out my m8 coil too. It sure seems to sniff out the small gold.
  19. I just got the answer from Garrett: The Axiom software version 1.47 is our latest and most current version at this time. There have not yet been any further updates released for the Axiom to-date. When a new update is released, it will be available on our website at https://garrett.com/store/updates-support/.

  21. JP pegged it with the 6K, jittery, highly strung etc. exactly how I found it, regardless, it proved to be just like a SDC on steroids. I have found it to be a very productive detector, a brilliant patch finder in my country right out of the box. I did have its 11" coil turn spastic but that was after a few years beating it up against rocks a problem all coils have/will have, nah maybe I was lucky just like the testers, but I look forward to MLs next, but don`t leave it too long to introduce ML or you`ll have to shout me a walking stick.😉
  22. The F19 VLF I just got would have found that piece with ease and I say so in the initial post, it was nothing to do with the detector, as if often the case, just like when I found a couple of bits with the Algoforce in the same area a few weeks earlier, nothing to do with the detector, just the coil being in the right place. The 6000 likely would have found most if not all the gold I found in the thyme bushes, ,they're both very good detectors, and on this sort of gold they're very competitive with each other although I do still favour the 8" on the GPZ over the Coiltek 10x5" on the GPX 6000 on this small gold as if golds a bit deeper I have more confidence the GPZ will find it and the 6000 may not (small coil vs small coil), I might be wrong and don't have enough experience finding thousands of bits of gold but I find the GPZ tends to find deeper bits than the 6000. I'm not so sure the 6000 would have found all the gold the 15" CC found on that patch, but it likely would have found some bits the 15" CC missed. If I ever find another patch similar, I'd use both detectors on it with a few different coils for the best results and that's why for now at least I'll keep the 6000 even though it's not my favourite detector. What I did notice that day was the Equinox I had with me would have missed a lot of the gold I was finding with the 8", and of course the 15" CC I was able to do a lot of side-by-side testing that day between them, and in the video I demonstrate the Equinox not picking up one of the bits until much closer to it so that day helped move me off wanting to use VLF's so much as prior I was a big fan of using the VLF's and often used one instead of my GPZ much to JW's surprise, he never did understand me rocking up with my Nox instead of my GPZ 🙂 Looked at me in shock horror sometimes when I appeared with a VLF. 😀 Something else that is fact, I'd missed that 4.1 gram bit I showed the recovery video of with the 8" on the GPZ with other combinations, , it's a slim little bit of soil between two dug out areas. yet the 8" got it, even though it was quite deep, deeper than my scoop.
  23. Thank you Gerry & Phrunt. While the 6000 has been a shambles & a frustration for many, I somehow have not had issues with mine. Touch wood. We do know who the tester were Gerry. Maybe they were just not aware of the issues at that time or ML did ignore them. JP did promote it as being highly strung & on the edge due to the nature of the beast & its heightened sensitivity & jittery nature therefore etc etc. I am not a Minelab basher as such as I have loved all my ML machines. I just don't like their business model antics in controlling their market share/domination & take my hat off to the likes of X coils who developed a work around for the chip on the 7000 & have obviously made a heap of very good coils that has called ML out on their say so that a 10" coil wasn't physically possible to make with the amount of wire winding required in the small space of a 10" coil. Despite them saying they would make a 10" coil. X coils pumped out not only a 10" but also an 8" coil & many more. The CC's being from what I have seen a huge hit. Left egg on ML's face & has basically called them out as liars. @Phrunt. I find it interesting that the bit of gold you did find while detecting with Mitchel was found with the 6000 & an aftermarket coil despite your favoritism being with the 7000 & 8" X coil that found you nothing. While you showed that video of your patch clean up at the area you took Mitchel too with the 7000 & 8" X coil. Who is to say that the 6000 wouldn't have found those with the 10x5 Goldhawk coil in among those thyme bushes? I have to admit that the 15" CC seems very impressive. D4G
  24. No idea, just use whatever gives a just-snug fit. Too much washer or too little will stress the ears. Probably that's what this is all about.

  26. I was reacting to how Steve responded to Clay's post. No less, no more. Cheers mate.
  27. I think Ghostminer was referring more to the prospect of moving to an entire new database etc. In theory nothing is impossible, new database, new hooks into the software, etc etc. Years ago something that might have got my interest but now I'm more into modding 15 year old computer games as my computer hobby fun. Something of that magnitude is not worth it to me. The bottom line however is there was a ton of effort that went into this forum over the years, not just by me but by all of you. I will not abandon that lightly. On the other hand it's like trying to keep one of my beloved pups alive forever. There comes a day when you know it's just better to pull the plug. All I can say is - it is not this day!
