A couple of weeks ago i found a medallion that no one here has been able to identify . The site is pre 1900 through to about 1940 . Unfortunately fertilizer , and probably fire see it in very poor condition . It clearly has the Statue of Liberty on one side and i can make out the word Liberty between 6 and 9 o'clock . The reverse appears to have a rippling flag with the flag pole on the left side . The diameter is about 24.5mm [ one inch ] . I hope the brains trust here can come up with an identity . Thanks in advance all .

Some detected weights from Tasmanian gold fields . I love finding these ! My grandfathers gold scales passed down through the family . The big stacked set goes to 3 oz .

No problem with mine , i can crank them up to ear busting levels , and that is with damaged hearing from industry and shooting .

2019 was a good detecting year for me so it's a bit hard to pick my best 3 finds but i will go with these . William 1V English Half Crown . Big silvers are hard to find on the goldfields here and a William 1V thanks to it's limited vintage is very rare . While this one is very worn and the obverse smooth i am very happy to have found it . Cricket buckles are keenly sought after in Australia by relic hunters . I have been told that this one is from the Philadelphia Cricket Club , USA . And after 8 years of detecting i nailed a gold coin from the dirt a few weeks ago . A very nice 1876 full Sovereign .

The charging socket broke away in mine too . I carefully pulled them apart to see if i could fix them but found the socket is soldered to a circuit board and requires some pretty good electronics soldering skills to fix . I just put them back together and sent them in for replacement . They were replaced with no issues .

Gday Sam , i am a fellow Taswegian based in the NE of the state . If you are interested in field days chasing gold/relics or gemstones then i suggest you join PMAT [ prospectors and miners association of Tasmania ] . All the best with your future hunting , gold is a tough game in Tassie .

Must have run out of money as that stainless roll holder looks pretty average .

Good finds Busho . A solid coil that doesn't catch every twig would be so handy for the Nox . Most ground here in Tassie is covered in Bracken fern which really loves to combine with that spoked Nox coil .

Congrats , a gold coin from anywhere is bucket list find and one you will never forget . Looks to be in brilliant condition also . Also like the trigger guard and flask . A marvelous hunt .

This is my first post on this forum . I have been a long time lurker and a non posting member for a while . Just had to post after reading Steve's brilliant post , love the pics too ! Steve , you deserve every wonderful find just for running such a brilliant , decent forum . It's a total credit to you and a breath of fresh air compared to so many other forums . Your trip description makes me feel like grabbing the Nox and booking a trip to the Old Dart right now! As you described though there is a bit more involved than just getting an air ticket . Keep up the great work and I hope there is a gold coin waiting for you on your next trip . All the best from the land down under .
