  1. Nice story Condor, Despite the gloom and doom and endless sad stories on the news about people doing the wrong things to each other, I believe the majority of the people are good. Thanks for sharing your experience and pass it forward.
  2. My deepest target although not with a ML5000 I used a ML4500 was a 15.2 gram nugget at 19" using a 20" NF Mono coil.
  3. There's a lot of hard work behind each of those beauties!! Good luck to you all and may the yellow shine on you in your travels.
  4. My all time favorite the 15x10 Mono Detech !! Nice nugget..........
  5. I just wonder how many of us would share their 12 ounce or above nuggets anyways if they did find one or few ? Just because they are not posted , does not mean no one has found one. And how would that benefit them other than have some tail gaiters tracking their every move. I enjoy members nugget posts however small they are, the rest I leave for imagination. Personally, I still have not upgraded from my 4500....she works!
  6. So it's not much of a concern as sightings out in the bush are extremely rare. I can understand this logic, I suppose the stories of taipans, browns and vicious panda attacks are to scare us Yankees from coming to Oz and grabbing your gold . I was thinking perhaps they were as common as our rattle snakes here in the Western states. This year was dry, I ran into three two were within 7 feet of me. Luckily they warned me to stay clear. I just got so used to wearing guards and knee pads I wear them year round they have become part of my hunting gear.
  7. I can understand the difficulties selling nuggets and specimens quickly, makes sense at times just to melt it down and sell. What perplexes me and maybe someone in Oz can explain. Why do all you fellas wear shorts and no snake protection against browns, and Tiapans? Blind in an hour and half ! Death comes fast after that I am certain. Out hear in the Western part of the U.S. I wear snake guards and knee pad for rattle snakes. In addition it protects my legs and knees from various low bushes and shrubs..so I can plow through it all.
  8. Nice shot and I like that you used a rock as a background. Nice Motherlode specimen !
  9. Goldhound, Although I do spend a lot of time out in the field..I do appreciate a great video of fellow nuggeteers out about doing their own hunting. I just hope that this GPZ video of yours does not make me wanting of one. My 4500..has been so good to me, hard to let go of her. Anyways we do appreciate your hard work in making this video. Thanks again, RC
  10. It's an offering to the Gold Gods...... someone tripped over a Sunbaker....and all you were left were the bits.
  11. Beardog, Keep the geology lessons coming ! Thanks for sharing ............
  12. Jasong, "mining claims are to mine not to recreate on" totally agree with you on this one. It's unfortunate that some claim owners, and I know a few...who hog up claims and never use them. Just because you pay the fees, does not mean you own it. It should be run as I commercial business as it was intended. If you don;t use it , you lose it.
  13. Tortuga, I have tried to join AO for the past year but it always asks to validate even though my avatar name is on the form after I login. I always resend the validation, but after 5 or 6 tries it never happens. Not sure what the problem is . Regardless, I do enjoy all the forums I am on, especially this one. Hope you have better luck with your validation.
  14. Very nice, nice to see how the sdc pics up the small tid bits. Its like a gold magnet....I would say that was a successful day!
  15. Bada Bing, I am with you on this, I hate to admit but I am not a teki and words like software, upgrades and such make me nervous . Perhaps this is why I still run my 4500, the gpz seems a bit complicated and now you can program the dang thing!! I think I am getting to old....but if a dealer would have a service like that...and do the upgrades and do them correct, I can live with. Perhaps a gpz is in my future.
  16. Hope the dirt bags gets his dues one day, I am sure he will. It smells of an inside job....it's not like fishing, cant brag about your finds. I would agree that a safety deposit box, or a heavy gun vault bolted to concrete. Exterior security lighting and a dog. And don't forget to keep your equalizer near.
  17. Thanks for that information, any news on the Makro Gold?
  18. Hi Rege, Yes I am and I cant explain how it does it....but I do know when I have my D coil on I find gold. I think it has something to do with how dang stable they run. In the beginning I had to throw something on the ground so I knew it was working, realizing its just stable and you can't beat the fact that it passes the bump test very well. The only other coil that comes close is the Nuggetfinder coils I have, but Detech coils are priced better. Can't wait to hear the test results and how well it does compared to the Coiltek Elite 14" Mono. Fred
  19. Hey Rege, I am interested....was waiting to get the Elite around Christmas time, but now you put a twist in my plan...haha...please keep me informed about the new coils. The Detech 10x15 Mono is my primary coil these days. I put on the others for a while but always resort going back to the Detech because of its stability and its not bump sensitive. Fred
  20. Dang ZED !! Hmmmm....... congrats to your finds.....
  21. Very interesting...amazing how many zeds are out there and looking at the list, adds up to a small fortune. But I bet the gold found with all those listed would far surpass the value of the detectors combined. Great job Steve ! Fred
