What's In Your Wallet?
Joe Beechnut OBN replied to George Kinsey's topic in Metal Detector Advice & Comparisons
Nice collection! You must have a very understanding wife..👍 I've thinned mine down over the years, think the most I ever had was six different one's, I'm down to two diff now, the Excalibur and "AQ'. -
Thank you, not complaining but maybe give the weight of the gold next round or whom every may take the time to share VDI numbers or a depth test.

Carter of DTC just did a depth test, and I think I heard him say he would be out with next weekend diving or using in saltwater. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ui8pZWwpYJE&t=18s

Looks great Barry! I seen a few in the Uk did the same, my question.. will it affect the warranty? One reason I was considering making another shaft for it. I hate anything that may snag in the seaweed or get hooked on something. I'm still on hold till late summer so plenty of time to watch others and learn.

Deus 2, Disappointed By What I Saw
Joe Beechnut OBN replied to diggindaboot's topic in Metal Detector Advice & Comparisons
1300 dollars is a good price. I'm guessing from a friend who is a dealer? Reason I say that is because I have a close friend who is a dealer and offered me a good price. Kind of leery of paying less just incase something with the warranty should come up.. -
Here is the female fitting you would use to connect the bone phones to, then all you need is a 1/8 jack (fitted) ..if that is what fits the clip that attach's to the puck. https://www.mouser.com/ProductDetail/Bulgin/PXPPVC08FBF06ACL010PVC?qs=eP2BKZSCXI4YouXyCIVmug%3D%3D

If it is being sold as a dive/saltwater beach machine seems it would be covered under the Warranty if it should leak.... With several years of repair of water machines I can tell you 100% ........ if saltwater gets into "any electronics" there will be corrosion. If I am reading that correct.. non-transferrable warranty..?

I've been one of the seeders at the local fall club hunts for several years.. all hunts here are held at the beach. I just let the targets fly and the sand does the rest. Most I would guess would be less than 2 inches.

First Impressions Of The Deus II
Joe Beechnut OBN replied to Erik Oostra's topic in Metal Detector Advice & Comparisons
I was a little surprised to see them also when I got mine, I was thinking the ones I made were heavier duty. I do like the fact the Deus BP's are doubles, but If you wear glasses you do have to do some adjusting. -
Very Nice! You got nothing but time to to study it....with all that snow.

Short Beach Hunt - Just Coins
Joe Beechnut OBN replied to F350Platinum's topic in Metal Detecting For Coins & Relics
Looks like a great spot with some history! I've never seen those wood water breaks that close, except one old beach.. up here, a place called Love Point. See if I can find a picture. Found it, shows how bad my memory is..kind of similar. -
Received My Bh-01 Bone Conduction Headphones Today
Joe Beechnut OBN replied to Steelheader's topic in XP Deus II Forum
What you need is a little different then Steelheader but this would work... This would be the fitting you would plug into the Nox, 1522095 Phoenix Contact https://www.mouser.com/ProductDetail/Phoenix-Contact/1522095?qs=Oehxi%2FWkeHiGj4zi5qaliw%3D%3D ... than this fitting to fit..... to the end of it which you would plug the Deus bonephones into..PXPPVC08FBF06ACL010PVC ..this fitting comes installed to a 2m straight cable...which you can trim as needed.....the good is you can then adjust the Pin out of the Nox to the Deus2 bone phones when putting all together (If needed). Let me know if you need any help, I can send my phone number, thru messages here.. Also, remember the volume of the Nox would have to be very strong for them to work proper, And something I did notice, the volume is loud enough on the excalibur if I use them as ear phones.. but used as bone phones on the excalibur, I would say I lose about half of my audio. I do have a couple of audio amps around here that I could force the bone phones to work with the excal, Doc's treasure screamer amp.. may give that a shot just to see how that works.. Hope this helps, ask anytime.. https://www.mouser.com/ProductDetail/Bulgin/PXPPVC08FBF06ACL010PVC?qs=eP2BKZSCXI4YouXyCIVmug%3D%3D This one can be used also and cheaper..6 pin male M-8 code A ..but would need modified...to be used as a headphone fitting for the D2 or possibly Nox ......PXPPVC08FIM06AYT010PVC https://www.mouser.com/ProductDetail/Bulgin/PXPPVC08FIM06AYT010PVC?qs=DPoM0jnrROVcDEcWfdxS4w%3D%3D -
Received My Bh-01 Bone Conduction Headphones Today
Joe Beechnut OBN replied to Steelheader's topic in XP Deus II Forum
I no longer do the work but I would recommend Tony Eisenhower could do you a adaptor. I can give you the part numbers you would need and the pin out of the BP's, the 1/8 mini jack he could track down for you.... Let me know.. -
Received My Bh-01 Bone Conduction Headphones Today
Joe Beechnut OBN replied to Steelheader's topic in XP Deus II Forum
After testing on the Minelab Excalibur and the Fisher AQ Limited my conclusion .. Works great on the Fisher "AQ" but the Excalibur's 38mW's are not enough to hear what I want to hear. Will they work on other detectors, only if you have a killer audio like the ...J.W. Fisher X-8 .. the "AQ"....and Deus2? The Deus Bonephones are no different then the old single BP.. small piezo buzzers sealed for diving. No battery needed, just high audio output...... more milliwatts to match the design. -
First Impressions Of The Deus II
Joe Beechnut OBN replied to Erik Oostra's topic in Metal Detector Advice & Comparisons
I am liking what I see but many factors have to be taken into account.... One, I thing is the hunter.. and you have to figure many of the Nox hunters know there machine so well, it would take a game changer detector to equal or top them hunting. A few years down the road we may see the difference, My opinion ..it's going to take time. Plus I want to thank everyone for posting everything, watching video's and reading makes my huntless winter days more fulfilling, I think. 👀 -
First Impressions Of The Deus II
Joe Beechnut OBN replied to Erik Oostra's topic in Metal Detector Advice & Comparisons
I posted these pictures before and no one comment on them since I guess they were Anti-Deus ll ..all found by a Nox .. My Friend Harry in NJ who beaches hunts for Micro Jewelry. Averages a 100 gold pieces a year. Harry is not retired and only hunts on weekends when his wife gives him off... Just a few.. but you get the point, the Nox is fully capable of finding the same "Micro gold" as the Deus ll. As far as how deep these were.. No idea but 100 a year would be no easy task at any depth. -
Yes! I remember, I met up with 2 hunters in NJ..(winter 2012). they were from NY.. The Target was a 5 gram 14k wedding band wedding band, The At Pro got it at 10 inches... the excalibur 14 inches, and that Hot CZ was hitting it at 18 inches.. but he had to be right above it and it was a Low like Iron. Bob and I just ran into each other last week, i think he let that CZ20 / 21 go.. pictures below You know Steve Nago, Was a Fisher Factory repair Tech many years. I've taken him out a few times with his CZ 20 and now he uses the Nox.. I had him going, telling him about all the gold I've dug that started as a ghost signal/one way faint, nulls.... He's funny, said he feels sick now that he knows he has missed so many possible gold ring by skipping the lows.. Steve has modified several CZ-20/21....adds a fourth tone..for pennies ....and I think some clad? The guys is amazing, he worked at NSA 40l years, and got many awards for the computers he design and setup. Now retired... I sent him the Barracuda to play with, I got it warmed up but a weak signal.. time to turn it over to the Master from John Hopkins..
