  1. I would sell them if you have not used them for a while. Both the CTX and Excalibur's still bring a good price., I would wait till early spring for the best prices can be had then.
  2. As a... in the water hunter like you Dew, I'm waiting........ Once A few hundred machines get out there.... with some time passing I think a lot of questions will be answered. These video's of now...... are just a taste of what the Deus ll will encounter. Looks like a very solid hitter. I see one at the beach... I for sure will be grabbing the poor guy and asking to compare. Heck .. You have Cliff.. we will be waiting for that input!
  3. I seen a guy using one in the mediterranean ..waist to just about chest deep. I looked it up and he was between Venice and San Marino. He said all way fine but you could not hear the audio to confirm. Keep us informed if you hear anything. One of my worries is the coil has a battery, but the machine does have the 5 year warranty.
  4. That's a Nice chunk! Hoping 2022 is the year of the beach Pirate!
  5. That's a Nice Gold!! Love red stone gold rings.. No doubt you did a service to mother nature also, Lotta digging...🏴‍☠️
  6. Sounds like you know the answer already and need to stay with the Nox, maybe only use the TDI when things are bleak. I use my Excalibur a lot, but when things get bleak or I find a area where I feel the AQ (PI) will shine then it may go next trip. I guess you might say I break up my beaches in sections from what I found the last trips out or may have noted..... then discriminate each section in my mind with the info gathered........then take the best machine I feel will do the job . And I would say 95% of the hunters here have Nox's Years ago I will never forget over on Findmall, Steve posted about the Garret LS.. his final words were.. "Use what works".
  7. X-2 .. I think some are watching, this past week I've talked to several Noxers and seems all are happy with what they have. Its going to take a lot to shake their tree and that would require the Deus ll hunter who walks off the beach with some Amazing stuff... a tough act to follow.
  8. I don't think the Deus ll will kill the Excalibur, I think most of the damage has already been done to the excal when the Nox came out. Where it will hurt, the new excal sales .... specially with the 5 year warranty. As far as the Sea Hunter, it lost out a long time ago.. the Deus ll will hurt the Nox more then any machine, and ....Now seeing a lot of Deus owners have there machines up for sale already. My opinion on the target ID, it's excellent to have on shallow targets beaches, sandy beaches, where targets can sink very deep, if your depending on target ID your missing the gold..
  9. The sand is not as fluid here in the bay and can be more like layers, sand, then shells/sand, repeated several times. At the ocean a totally different story, one scoop and your fighting the walls. There are many different types of bottoms here, most are firm and some even like concrete, hard packed shells for feet.
  10. Never really had a lot of detectors at one time, if it does not find gold for me it goes back out the door fairly fast. Two for right now, the Excalibur and AQ Limited, I see one come along that is doing more then these two are I'll be in line. Took the AQ out yesterday to see if it still had it's Mojo..
  11. Wow sorry to see but a easy fix for you I'm sure.. I remember talking to Gary Storm about the HH series. If I remember correct he said he had 70,000.oo dollars invested into the development / production and had not got his money out of it yet, 2013. Seems it came in a PI also?
  12. The one I got from Rick is out of warranty now. Dec 2019. Several changes planned, would like to remove the control unit from the saltwater. and have the battery sealed with the electronics. Be a good winter project for me since I'm now cold water shy. The AQ maybe sub standard for some but I seen the potential, one reason I got two.
  13. Very True.. Bottom line is.. if the saltwater was not there then all would be fine...
  14. Hate to say it but anytime you have connectors and saltwater there is going to be problems. Then add them to a Beast on steroids 2. My opinion, best results would be for all connections to be hardwired and use internal batteries only.
  15. That will do it...means there is a leak for sure. That's what was wrong with the refurbished machine I bought. Looks like the same pin also... they replaced the unit with a Brand New since the main fitting to the housing was green also and needed replaced.
  16. Power off, disconnected battery, several times now, which I have now learned as soon as I hear a large signal coming I move away . I would like to say its the one machine but I noticed on 3 now. Ron Lord posted that several years ago, that his machine got messed up because of that and he never posted anything else about it...... But my machines do reset after a day of rest. I guess it is the saltwater salinity on the pumping with the "AQ"? I've yet to hunt with the "AQ" at the ocean. Maybe next summer. I know the Excalibur can be done the same but It's not necessary for the faints. Both in the bay...
  17. Pumping the coil will help pull in those faints, .. this works for me but I do sometimes get a falsing when pumping and there is no ramps or peaks of the target, so you have to use a lot of coil control to tame the beast. I do feel bad for others that are having issue for this machine is the answer to my needs, when called on. Something very interesting I experienced the machine will over load quick.... When you first turn it on, if it is near any large metal objects, or even another machine it goes into a buzzing mode.. . And when you turn it to all metal it will not detect anything. So I would guess if it is overloaded in saltwater and you turn it on it will do the same.. Here is a example, and this video I though something was wrong with the machine but I soon discovered if I got it away from the garage it works fine.. And something Mike and I have talked about and I've seen a few post this..the Excalibur when in All metal..you come across a huge piece of metal while hunting and continue to swing over it..(Not pulling it away) it will not act right for the rest of the hunt.. and not that you can't hunt with it but the audio of targets become distorted to the point it gets annoying.
  18. Love finding Gold bands, nice haul... Something to think about, do a deeper scratch test. What happens is... one scratch removes just the surface area. Deeper will get you a sure reading... below surface...if it happens to be plated.
  19. I'm still here, just lurking and raking leaf's.. I will never own another house with trees, after this. Me... Sorry to see the issues everyone has had.....Only problem I did have, I bought a refurbished "Limited AQ" with blemishes. Got it and it did not work correct, so I returned it and they sent me a brand new unit which has been fine. All I can say is, if your not happy with the Limit AQ request a refund, Now. I still love both of mine, not for every beach but for sure it's deeper then any other water machine made, and that is what I've wanted from the beginning. Deep...☠️
  20. Thank You! I forgot to take it down. If your headphones are stock on the Excalibur, I doubt if there will be much difference but looking to see your results. I will have more videos next spring on the subject, once the water is warmer.
  21. That's a Beauty! Love Opals! Water hunters call the face of the ring pointing down, the parachute affect .. the heavies part pointing down, which is very common for some gold rings in fluid sand. I dig a lot of gold rings that give iron signals, even silver coins but gold is more likely. Targets on the edge of the detecting field will give mixed signals for the return signal is not strong enough for a positive ID. A few months ago I took a Nox hunter out, in the water, and he was amazed every deep signal I shared with him was a Negative on his machine and several turned out to be deep silvers.
  22. I never liked the DF, to much back ground noise. I did have a friend who used one a lot and he said it's the little blank outs that were deep targets.. Still to much chatter for me... Never liked the Infinium either.. because of the High low then low high tones. Used a Sand Shark for a few months on and off, I did like the audio and clean threshold. Just not deep enough, Every other water machine I had used was deeper, PI and VLF. I did like the Sea Hunter but I proved to a friend that the Excalibur in All metal with a good set of head phones was as deep, if not deeper. I did the same with the Whites DF.. Excalibur was as deep when modified. Fisher "AQ" Limited... by far deeper then any PI I have had before. In the works, having a old Barracuda being repaired, see if I like that..
  23. Love this...!! I think it is most important to keep the ideas flowing, about the machine and the area hunted. Gives One a reason to come back.. I always try and set myself up with Hope for the next trip back before l leave a spot if things were bleak.
