  1. Yes the puck is an excellent value for money , it has almost all the RC settings and it has a very good and user friendly interface with the 4 buttons and the nice little screen. This for a reasonable price at 450E ( instead of 750 for the RC ). I have 30 hours of use with the WS6 up to now and I am very happy with it ...πŸ™‚
  2. Same for me , I disliked this screw when I tested the D2 with its RC in March . Now I use a WS6 MASTER version without RC . I prefer the WS6 headphones which are easier to connect for charging ... Simpler is often better ... πŸ™‚
  3. 5 medieval silvers found with my "test" D2 since I have it ( around 35 hours detecting ) ---> Please XP DO NOT update the D2 , I like prototypes ... πŸ˜€
  4. I like the T2 audio , with its 4 tones sharp and "crystal" tones , very accurate . But the T2 is too heavy for me , it weights 1,54kg . A Deus2 is half this weight and it has an excellent audio too , it is a SMF and goes deeper . Then I dont really miss the T2 too ... πŸ™‚
  5. Yes , far from obsolete especially in fields where you dont need a deep detector , but just a machine which is fast and reactive as the targets are shallow
  6. Yes the first version of the T2 ( T2 Classic ) was released in 2007 , 15 years ago ... It is time for them to release something new , for example a new T2 with compact electronics , lithium battery , a lighter shaft etc ...
  7. Very nice job ... How did you make these bushings ? 3D print ?
  8. Hi , It doesnt really answer to the Legend question but if you need an ultra compact detector to carry with your motorbike , a wireless XP D2 or D1 is the best solution simply because the CB is wireless . Then you can use a smaller rucksack. With no need to disassemble anything . no time loss with screws bolts etc .. You dont even need a CB with the D2 WS6 MASTER version ... I use a rucksack since several years too , one more reason why I like XP detectors .. πŸ™‚
  9. Unless you like light detectors because the Simplex is front heavy especially with the 11 coil ( 1,4kg ) .. Personnaly I would recommend a Quest X5 or X10 for a total beginner . They are very light , have very good electronics , and they are cheap .. Or a second hand Deus1
  10. And how much would you estimate the depth difference between a MPV3 8X6 or 11,5 and a classical VLF detector like an Equinox 11 or a D2 11 on a big coin for example ? thanks ..
  11. I have 40 hours with the D2 , and probably 700 or 800 hours with the D1... On the D2 I always use SENSITIVE nr2 , 5 tones , SQUARE audio . It is the best mode I found for what I m doing , coins hunting in trashy areas . It is very reactive and accurate and should work very well for a seeded hunt ..
  12. The iron discrimination is often a weakness with such powerful detectors. Just like PIs ; going very deep but with very poor discri making them unusable on european soils . Unless this MPV3 is different and offers a very good iron disc ...
  13. Then what depth can be expected for this medal with the MPV3 ? If its made of copper then I would say 30cm for a VLF like the D2 or the Equinox ... Thx ..
  14. Exactly the same for me if I just replace the "Minelab" word by "XP" ... πŸ™‚ It looks like that most of the negative D2 feedbacks come from beach hunters . And I am not a beach hunter but a coin/relic hunter .. And for coin relic hunting it is the best detector I have ever used during 24 years detecting ... This for my European conditions of course .. Concerning the Mcore , as it will be released for Christmas I dont expect serious/reliable reports/field tests before Spring 2023 .. Perhaps my seller will lend me one for testing btw πŸ™‚ ..
  15. all the detectors are bad on big rusty steel at depth .. especially when the steel has a ring shape . A pinpointer with a discrimination like the ML profind 35 or the Quest Xpointer Max can help to id the iron without having to extract or even to see the target
  16. I agree, the Orx and the Deus2 WS6 MASTER are in the same price range ( Orx 22 HF WSA 799€ , Deus2 WS6 899€ ) . If I had to choose I would go for the D2 without a moment's hesitation ... The D2 is more performing for coin/relic hunting ; it goes deeper , it has a SQUARE audio , the multitone can be adjusted up to FULLTONES , etc .. Unless you need the small 9X6 coil which is only available on the Orx/Deus1 ..
  17. No it is not a complex machine . The only thing to know is to start with the GENERAL nr1 factory mode , this even for an experienced user . It is what I did when I received my D2 btw , spending a few hours with GENERAL to learn the D2 audio before trying other modes ... Of course a total beginner will need a longer time to learn GENERAL ( a few weeks or months ? ) than an experienced user who already knows the D1 for example . Long story short GENERAL is a good school for learning the D2 to my opinion ... πŸ™‚
  18. You did a very good choice , the D2 outperforms the competition in terms of weight/mechanical ergonomy and it has excellent electronics as you will see , you cant go wrong with this detector ... I would suggest to begin with the GENERAL nr1 mode to get used to the detector , it is the easiest mode to learn for beginners . After a few weeks/months , try other modes like SENSITIVE which is much more reactive/performing in the irons . Personally I prefer the SQUARE audio to PWM , but its up to you to decide which audio you prefer ... Happy Hunting in Sweden πŸ™‚..
  19. I should have said that SMF detectors have very similar depth performances in clean soils . The differences are more on separation/recovery in the irons and the mechanical ergonomy . Also some are better for gold prospecting , etc ... It all depends on what you plan to do with your detector ... All my tests for coin/relic hunting in European conditions at Le blog MΓ©taux-DΓ©tection (metaux-detection.fr) , French language ..
  20. Thx Slavomir for the video , I like the Rutus audio , it is very accurate with short signals , I like that ... and It goes deep .. I agree they are important differences between detectors , not only in terms of electronics/depth separation performance but also in terms of mechanical aspects like weight/ergonomy etc .. Back to FisherSari question . Personally I have been testing VLF detectors during 10+ years now , almost all brands , and yes they are often important differences between them . Just like with cars or digital cameras .. And some are better than the others for your kind of hunting
  21. I have only found 4 gold artefacts during 24 years detecting : one coin , two rings and a pendant. Which means an average of one gold every 5 or 6 years . Then I dont expect to find a gold with my new D2 before at least one or two years ... But sometimes silver is better than gold ...
  22. Or use a detector without screen . I use a Deus1 WS4 Lite since 2013 and now a Deus2 WS6 . The only ( l ( small ) screen I have is on the headphones on my head . I only look at it when I change the detector settings , rarely in the field btw . The rest of the time I only detect by hear ... No need for VDI numbers as everything from low to high conductivity can be a good target over here ...
  23. I doubt he will sell tons of MTCs over here in France , despite all his marketing videos .. The MTC is simply too expensive at 2000€ for the local inland hunters , knowing the current economical situation with the inflation , the increasing heating costs etc .. And knowing that there are many detectors under 1000€ that do the job very well , especially in fields where the targets are close to the surface and dont need ultra high depth performance ..
  24. Right this D2 WS6 Master + 9" coil is a killer πŸ™‚ ; ultra light , excellent "cristalline" SQUARE audio , deeper than the D1 , great separation in the iron trash ... Yes it is magical πŸ™‚ ... We have older coins like Roman coins over here . But for some reason the Carolingian coins are my preferred ones , perhaps because they are the very first coins of the medieval ages .. They definitely have something special , and they are rare ...
