  1. About half the large nuggets I've seen dug up where in locations where at least 10 other people have past on as trash. Dig it all. That bottle or can may be an old timers lost Polk.
  2. Large beach towel to lie down on while working under the car, can also be torn up for bandages, splints ect. I always seem to get a flat right over an ant hill lol.
  3. With India and China both moving from 3rd world to 1st world status, its only a matter of time before gold starts to climb again. How high is anybody's guess.
  4. 2 times now I was sure my 30+ inch deep zed hole was going to be a nice nugget only to find a 6 penny nail ahhhhhhhhhhhhhh crap
  5. A big congrats on the meteorites Mitchel!!, your going to be the first person to pay for your zed with space rocks
  6. Ditto, new set hear as well These Zeds are heck on the Tires lol. https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=10202687002814744&set=a.3455732730584.109870.1788811638&type=1&hc_location=ufi
  7. Russ some really nice nuggets!! Thanks for posting them.
  8. Hey Mitchel you and Lu both do great at the beach. Me,if I can find 26 pennys and 98 pull tabs I did great lol.
  9. AUddicted I'll be out in the Dale district at a club outing this weekend if your in the southern ca. area and want to see if both detectors are getting the same depth over the same targets and ground using the same settings. jasong it may have fallen out of the side of the hole I was digging, it was a deep one hears the video link https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UFQ_a8AvRfs
  10. On my first time out using the Gpz I dug a 2/10 of a gram at around 14 inches, have not come close to that depth again.. Main difference has been the ground was damp from rain 2 days before that first dig. We have not seen any rain since and I have been getting great results digging many 1/2 gram nuggets in pounded patches but most have been @ 6-8 inches deep.
  11. Hey Fred Patrick hear. Have the same issue with the wireless module being intermittent. Unless I have it in my shirt pocket or attached to the arm cuff it will blank at times. Now I slip it on the arm cuff while looking for a target then unplug once I start digging.
  12. From the looks of that nugget I would be gridding that hillside for sure,, Nice one !
  13. One of the habbits I had using a GPX was to do a startup reset every time I went out. Then I would tune the detector using a test nugget to get the best response for the day. With the GPZ Im finding myself re-tuning on each new location during the day since its so much faster to get it running the way I like it.
  14. Hey Jasong, I've been running into the same hot ground/black sand deposits hear in the Randsberg area. The signal gets a little better the deeper I dig but never really solid and its a low-high return. Switching into deep mode it will almost die out 99%.of the time. After watching this video I'll be swinging a pick axe tomorrow to make sure its only ground noise.
  15. Hey Fred Patrick hear, I found out that if you do not clip the battery hold down clips just right the battery will not work. May want to put the battery back on the charger for an hour and see if it charges up then turn on the detector and see if it runs for an hour or so.
