Well Steve as you know there are lots of prospector forums on the net and I still do look at them from time to time, the reason I really like yours is its on topic most of the time. I belong to several forums that are on topics I have an interest in. This is why I like it hear, good information in the shortest amount of time.

Thanks Steve,, time for me to do a little research now. :) Since the 7000 can be setup to run 2 wm12's a right and left wireless ear bud would be separate connections if I can find the right protocols.

Wireless earbuds are out on the market now and I am wondering is it possible to replace the wm12 with a Bluetooth or wifi set of earbuds? Is there a spec on the wm12 wireless conection someplace? This would help out a lot with line of site issue I have sometimes when I'm using headphones with the wm12.

I live in the Southern California just north of Los Angeles. Its been HOT, real hot the last few weeks and I wanted to get out detecting but the idea of hunting new patches in air temps of 100 degrees or more just did not seem appealing until this morning. We have had a few wild fires spreading around the Los Angeles area and even thou they are many miles from me, the wind was blowing the smoke in my direction. That was enough to get me driving out to the gold fields. I arrived at the area I wanted to start swinging my zed and decided to change up my settings. Im a smooth threshold person, cant stand a chattery threshold, but since I was going to be covering old ground I decided to turn up the settings as far as I could and see what happens Sometimes it pays to step out of your comfort zone, 2.26g .56g .05g

Thanks for posting, I learned a few things watching that one and I've done well more then one video digging ironstones and trash..

Was working one of my go to areas in the Southern Calif desert and managed to get 4 little ones for one gram total. Just as was packing up my gear I almost stepped on this little guy out for a later afternoon crawl.

When you first get into this hobby the standard advice is to buy from a local dealer and stay away from the detector online box store. You will hear about training which is true. A good price which depends on how good you are at wheeling and dealing.(dealer this is the bottom line the manufacture will let me sell it at, and your buddy get the same detector from the same dealer at a much lower price) The small dealer can help with warranty issues. Both of mine somehow are not covered and I have to pay for them...Jason has already said it in another post. Why do we need independent dealers anymore?

Whats missing in the Video is the many iron stones you need to dig that sound just like a nugget. Most of the nuggets I have been getting in this location start off as nothing more the a ground noise and once your down an inch or so then its starts getting to be a repeatable target. Fred hows that story go about the 2 old bulls on a hill eyeing the young cows down in the pasture? Hehe, I take my time, low and slow. No one gets them all but I do try :)

Southern California Desert, GPZ 7000, settings high yield, normal ground, high smoothing, sens @9 rest at default. It was very windy so the audio is a no go.

Once you find your first nugget. Stop, look around, try to figure out just why that nugget was in that spot. Search the area very very slowly at least 150 feet in all directions. Only then start detecting again looking for the same conditions as that first nugget.

You need to start posting up beware signs of 20 foot saltys, and 100's of browns seen close by :)

Chuck your correct, it will stand on its own. I currently have a gold bug pro that needs replacing. I need something with very good discrimination and able to find small gold. Its between the Deus- super light weight, Makro- looks good but all the people I know have had trouble with them, another gp pro, or the new ML monster. I will wait till I know a few people who have one in their hands before pulling the trigger. A deciding point would be if its just another vlf same as the last few I have listed only with a ML name tag or if it really has done something in the R and D department.

The elephant in the room is will it compete with a GB2 on small gold, so far it has not been answered.

After putting up the 10,000 for the gpz only to watch the price drop by 2,000 6 months later I still have a bad taste in my mouth. Sure I got $50 off for buying another 19 inch coil that cost 3x the average coil. Yes the gpz is giving me better depth and I am finding more gold then with my old detector. When some of the small plastic parts broke,,, A well known dealer said sorry that's not covered under the warranty.. So I am not so sure I feel like my 10,000 went to the right company. What this means is if another company comes out with anything close to performance of a gpz and a lower cost I would buy it. I will not buy another 10,000 detector for sure from anyone without a lifetime warranty. A lot of us are are coming up on the 3 year warranty of the gpz they are non replaceable parts, it breaks you get/buy a new one. Would you? Anything that high in price needs a lifetime warranty.

So that's what you need a 19 inch coil for ;)

(Depth in ground: gold nugget with size of match head and gross weight 0,4 gram / 12 cms ) equals 4.7 inches sounds like one of several vlf detectors on the market as far as depth.
