Popular Post CVISChris
We spent a few hours at the camp today. The easy targets are gone so now it’s low and slow. I still managed a few good finds. I think I have spotted a few more stacked rock foundations to check out but they are obscured by some thick brush. I’ll keep plugging along. I would appreciate any good info on the coin. The gold gilt button looks much better in person. 19
F350Platinum
Still killing it!!! Congratulations. Coin is a beautiful one real, Segovia mint. I have a half real from 1778 but the only thing you can really make out is the date. You win! ? I have two others that are rubbed so clear there are hardly any identifying marks. Gotta say the soil there is much better for buttons and coins, I rarely find any gilt buttons with any gold on them. persistence pays off. Great finds.

Now that you are finding these stunners, you should. I use this kinda as a joke but I learned early not to rub silvers and gold from them... For 5 bucks it could save a very valuable coin. ?
CVISChris
I do not carry a spray bottle. I just put them in a paper towel an into a large pill bottle in my bags or vest. I rinse them at home. I would lose that spray bottle real fast. I have trouble keeping my pin pointer with me. Need to make some improvements I guess.
Tom_in_CA
Oh my gosh, that reale is BEAUTIFUL ! And amazing that a ~75 yr. old coin was still circulating up to the time of the gold rush. Great history ! Congratz.
caprock
Great stuff, love the early gilt button and the real isn't too shabby either. Just need to find that tongue for the wreath.

Beeper Bob
Have 3 coins like that from the San Antonio mission, from when the Spanish occupied it. Also a 1/2 reale very small coin that was found at a old Victorian house in Arcadia Ca. Lots of history behind those old Spanish coins
