We Lost John Blennart Of Tucson

Recommended Posts

Sounds like he was a great guy that was always generous and helpful with other people, a serious loss to have him gone.

All the best to those of you that knew him and benefitted from his genuine friendship,

Lanny

Well, I accidentally found one of John B's business cards while doing some house cleaning:

A lot of the Arizona prospectors and other western Prospectors will remember John "Goldmaster" Blennart, AKA "John B.".  He passed away last Monday the 11th. I lost another old prospecting friend about a week ago. Enjoy the time you have as none of us are here forever.

Everyone speaks of John B's claim in Gold Basin.  It was not on BLM land.  It was 80 acres he owned.  He was one of the founders of WSPA and let all of the members camp and detect his property.

I wish I had gotten one of those ouncer club certificates.  It was on order.

John was a good friend of our family.  He lived down the road from my parents the past 20 years or so.  We were very saddened, we were on the way down to Tombstone when we got a call from his wife.  He was a great friend and wonderful human being.  It was always a treat to be able to spend time with him.  Unfortunately I was only on a handful of hunts with him.  Rest in Peace Goldmaster!
