Actually 1 kg (1000 grams ) equals roughly 35 oz. as 1kg equals roughly 2.2 lbs.     I know, nobody likes a smart ass.

But if you were really smart, since we are talking about gold which is measured in troy oz where 1kg equals roughly 32 troy oz

You guys are the smart ones.  I am shame faced this morning and just an ass.  Yeah, I should have known better regarding Troy oz.  Thanks for the boot in the butt and schooling.

I can see how it would be confusing, most commonwealth countries use the metric system ie Canada, Australia and others.

So kilos instead of pounds. When you're talking about a find that big, it's just easier to speak in pounds or kilos. Then no math required to convert to troy.

I think everybody gets the jist it's frickin big!!!
