  1. I deal with beach gold and to recover that from your cons you Must classify. The golden rule as Mile Pung of Gold Cube would say is that if everything in the pan is the same size... Gold rules. Now with all that said. What exactly are you panning for? Is it prospecting? If so then I would suggest a 4 mesh, 20 mesh, 50 mesh, and 80 mesh. If you have a bucket of cons to cleanup then I would suggest you first run those cons through a super concentrator like the Gold Cube or Gold Hogs Multi Sluice. Which you will have to classify to 1/8" Then classify those super cons through 50, 80, 100, and maybe even finer depending on the gold of your area. I classify beach cons through 80, 100, 150, 200, 325 mesh screens. Depending on which beach I get my material from .. there is one beach that has +80 mesh gold, veritable nuggets by beach standards but most of the gold is still in the minus 100 and 150 mesh size range.
  2. This is a final cleanup is from many days of running but it sure looks nice... Once again this is from a friends work... just helping him get things cleaned.
  3. I have an 8 cell charger that has an auto adapter so I can take it with me if I feel the need or going remote. Otherwise it stays plugged in at home. I have plenty of NiMh packs so power to go is never in short supply. I have found the 2700 mAh cells work very well for the V3i and really last in the MXT.
  4. Beautiful Gold..... Congrats on a job well done.
  5. I agree with the 10 post minimum. 2 posts is nothing for a scammer. 10 posts is nothing for someone that actually wants to be here and adds as well as finds value here. This is a great forum, hate to see that change.
  6. With all of that said, you can choose an offset of the ground balance with the V3i to either positive or negative which can help in some difficult ground.
  7. Well it looks like I am going to get out this weekend for a couple days. Hope to find some good beach and get more than last time.
  8. ... Well of course they were cherry picked... But it is still true that there are a lot of people out there like those in the vids..... They don't even fully understand basic economics. By the way No one in my circles would have refused those deals ....
  9. Why gold isn't as good as some people think it is for trade..... Now brace yourselves because the next videos are truly disturbing. This is why the gold as money is doomed and why people will accept a single world currency ........ Man Offers Random People A Free One Ounce Gold Coin Free Gold Coin or a Candy Bar? Selling 1 Oz Gold Coin for $25 (when it's worth over $1,500) Selling a 100 oz Silver Bar for $25 Dollars (When It's Worth $1500) Almost 7 POUNDS of Bullion
  10. Well as lovely as the desert can be I'm a coastal person.....
  11. What a great find... All the best and a huge congrats on your fantastic good fortune. This is me seeing that gold............
  12. That's a beauty........ congrats ......
  13. OK... Got it dried, the magnetics pulled, and weighed. Came to 8.36 grain. about 4 hours shoveling and a hole 3 feet wide by 2 feet deep...... have moved more material for a lot less gold in the past. So I am not gonna retire or quit the day job but I will go back to that spot in the future.......
  14. While elliptical coils seem all the rage and certainly do have their place it is hard to beat the old concentric design overall....JMHO
  15. Holy cow......... That is a fantastic find. Turn that place upside down mate. Can't wait to see your totals.
  16. Way to go... and yup... I'd be there till there was no more there to hunt.
  17. We managed to get out a bit today and a little yesterday to do some testing of the high banker configuration. Here's what we got............ There is still more but it is going to have to be classified further to get it out of the black sand. When these two pans dry out I will get it weighed and update here. I doubt there is a gram but will find out soon.
  18. If it works out for you on the coast let me know and I will be happy to help you with your fine gold recovery equipment choices and information on their use.
  19. The DFX and the V3i are very good in the wet sand even in the transition between the two.... I love my V3i and mixed mode stereo.
  20. Hey Duke.... Have you ever been to Centerville Beach? It is west out of Ferndale and a fellow I know saw and talked to some guys that were using a gold cube... said they were doing pretty well too. I haven't had a chance to get down there and likely won't until we find some kind of camper or motorhome. Just too far to drive and I don't really like motels all that much. Heres a google earth shot of Centerville beach... That is a beach I would really like to hit... I can't get any solid info on beach mining is cali. though. Do you have any info on that subject?
