  1. Looks like they are all Whites to me ....... Great collection.
  2. This is what I carry as well as a side arm. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B001DQ76JI?tag=outsidepursuits-20&linkCode=ogi&th=1&psc=1
  3. So far I am not impressed with the field testers..... Hoover boys make some pretty cool finds but the apex vid quite frankly ... SUCKED. Aquachiger...... Well about all I can say is I think he is an idiot.. I can't stand his vids. and the way he goes about his hunts and comments.... He would not be allowed to do the crap he does in most areas. Lets see some decent field testing................... Less BS and more detecting.
  4. I understand your dilemma..... About all I can say about the ever increasing and encroaching regs is I have just about had enough of the bullshit.
  5. Nice.... Fine gold is about all I deal with. Make yourself a fine gold sluice and it will speed up that recovery time.... And you may find it improves your recovery... No way I sit and pan even 1 gallon of material when dealing with fine gold which is all I work with since I beach mine.
  6. Doc at Gold Hog has a pretty good video about how shape, size, slope, and water flow effect material handling called Proportional Force. Give it a watch and you can see how these things all interact... While it deals mainly with running material in a sluice the concept is clear and you can see how it would work in an elutriation column as well.
  7. Hey Steve. I have a Bigfoot coil that i got for my Eagle Spectrum back in the early 90s Do you think I could use it on my v3i in the 7.5 single freq? Just curious... I still have my Spectrum so it is not a big deal/
  8. Like Steve said.... get out and use what ya have... Plenty of time for the new shiny toy after it has been out for a while..... SO............The concept of using the machine you have and finding stuff instead of always looking at the greener grass on the other side of the fence has a good bit of merit. In the meantime.............Get out there and have some fun, find stuff and let others do the beta testing for you. Then after that shiny new thing has had some realtime testing and reviews Then go take a look at it and see if you can maybe try one out for a few hours.... You just might be surprised that it is not what you had expected.... I still have my Eagle Spectrum that I get out from time to time. I also have a Bigfoot coil for it and man can I cover some ground with that bad boy. I also have an MXT that the wife has taken over since I got my V3i 8 years ago. So I am in no hurry to .....upgrade? .... At some point I might But for now I have what I need to do the job and I don't think I miss much when I hunt.... And yes I have hunted next to an equinox operated by a friend who loves his not.... I have not been outgunned yet. So have some fun, find some stuff, take your time. Just my humble opinion and yes I know opinions are like a'holes.... everybody has one...LOL
  9. Nice find but almost as ugly as the ring I found. 10k Mens gold ring and UGLY...............
  10. Hey.... I got an idea....... Why don't ya all go out detecting with you present machines ... Have some fun..... Find some stuff and quit acting like a bunch of old ladies at a gossip session...... The thing will be out in July...........
  11. So true...... We have some really hot ground in Oregon.....
  12. Wouldn't that be sweet..... and tune up the ground tracking....
  13. Good points Steve... I have turned normalization off on occasion on my V3i.... I think it is a good feature and allows for some additional target determination...
  14. Has there been any footage of the actual machine n use yet?... If not All is speculation.......
  15. A little pricy??????? Seriously? $500 bucks with wireless headphones is a heck of a deal ....... Now the real proof of value will be what we find out after it has been in the real world for a few months..... then we will see if this bird's gonna fly.......... One thing I don't care for is the sealed onboard battery..... I like having spare battery packs.....
  16. Can't wait to read your review Steve............. I'm still good with the equipment I have (for now) but it's always fun to read about the new toys.
  17. One of the things that helped me decide to go NOX when the time comes is the integrity and help that I find on this forum. Steve has done a fantastic job putting this together ... His knowledge and helpfulness is a rare commodity. Also I find you to be in the same category Jerry, Your knowledge and willingness to share your knowledge is commendable and appreciated. All the best to you and Steve ... Stay healthy
  18. You know...... I was thinking about adding a 24k to my collection but at this point 2 things prevent it. 1. I just don't get out enough to justify the purchase and... 2. You just made a very good argument about the NOX capabilities.... Why spend 800 for the 24k a single use machine when I could get a true multi use machine that so nearly matches the performance of the 24k for the same money..... I like to get the best bang for the buck so I have to admit it will have to be a NOX when I get ready to make the move..... That is a tough admission for a dyed in the wool White's guy........
  19. Since it is a fresh drop..relatively... You don't need to run at high power settings because you won't need the depth. Also this will help reduce the interference of deeper targets, and using a larger coil will help you cover more ground... Also get a few 9mm bullets and see what they register as on the VDI... This will also help since you will now know the VDI range the target will fall under And yes a local club often has experience helping the police with evidence recovery.
  20. Thank you kiwijw...... Yup I have read about all that and it is great stuff.. Really enjoyed reading it again ..... Nicely put together..
