  1. I was right, replying with no problem. Just deepens the mystery.....
  2. I was right, back in Word again! I will paste this and see if I can reply without a problem.
  3. It appears that I can reply immediately after posting the above.??? Working just fine probably until I back out. I'll try that.
  4. Steve, Same problem when trying to send you a private message. I am doing this in Word and pasting when I can get the curser to “stick” for a couple seconds.
  5. If with family and good friends, I share. Otherwise, finders keepers.
  6. Nice! ......... Really nice! What did you soak it in and how long?
  7. Years ago, I took 72 nuggets/pickers totaling almost 1/2 oz. out of a two foot area. Most likely a "sluice robber" clay ball. Never thought about checking the dirt for fines! Dummy......
  8. That looks like a normal heel to a boot.... What does the bottom side look like? Are there hob nails in it?
  9. I always had good luck finding jewelry with the original Minelab Sovereign. Of course, it was multi frequency and had notch capabilities. The Tesoro Golden Sabre was good too. It also had notch capabilities.
  10. Have to follow those geese around!! Before it was stolen, we had a gold display in our courthouse that showed some gold recovered from a chicken's gizzard.
  11. Hit it with detector and then spied it. First it snowed on me, then turned to rain. By the time I left, the wind had dried me out! Delnorter, South facing slopes are clear.
  12. Yeah, Steve... it is.... having trouble sending a better pic from my phone to puter at the moment.
  13. Or one of these might jump out and bite you! (sorry about the pic... better one coming)
  14. Be in the 20's when I GET OUT tomorrow but it will warm to the 30's If not cloudy, I should be in the sun all day.....
  15. Maybe it's just luck sometimes... Not the skill of a detectorist. Once, being a licensed Land Surveyor, I was out in the woods marking a property line. I was pounding in a 4 foot survey lath when I glanced down at the base if it. There, staring up at me was a gold coin! Odd thing was, it was a 1984 Krugerrand IN A PLASTIC CASE!! I figure a hunter lost it as I was nowhere near a road??
  16. Nothing like finding two $5 gold coins at one time! Good for you....
  17. From the thousands of hot rocks I've kicked away, I'm sure one of them had to be a meteorite.
  18. Tortuga, It's funny that you would think just because a claim is filed a "red flag" is raised. Because a claim is filed, you now know that it is "off limits" to prospecting. Not a good place to go. I once thought I might join the GPAA so I called their office to see if they had any claims in my area. Their response was that I needed to join to find out. I might "trespass" on their claim if they told me.????? Same line of thinking... I don't understand it. I've had claims for almost 45 years. I have a place to go that hasn't been worked out by club members every year. Yes, still a little open land that you can hike to.....
  19. I don't see where it was raised in these pics? Is there another pic?
  20. Yeah, that's right. And you were looking at the actual post. Whew... I finally got it.
  21. I guess that is what I was saying in my first post. All the "likes" that I received on a post are not in my "notifications" any more. So, I guess you keep track of them somewhere else?
  22. Ok... I thought you were referring to the number of "likes" in my notifications.... It's how many times I push the "like" button? Every time now. grin Thanks
