Lucky you Steve ... we had 14" here in Yreka... Supposed to rain it all off this weekend. The new DD probably doesn't have that center ring?

Sure Its Quartz But With A Twist
LipCa replied to DDancer's topic in Rocks, Minerals, Gems & Geology
I'll bet that you look at that rock many times to find that speck of gold.... you know it's there! -
I assume you have a hidden file that shows the "likes" as I have many that I have received don"t show on my end. Only 8 show total when I click "view all"

Clay, seems to work fine with Windows 7 and I.E.

If I find a "missed" target, it's a "new" target to me! (but, I get your theme...)

Covering Ground Vs Going For Depth
LipCa replied to Steve Herschbach's topic in Metal Detector Advice & Comparisons
I don't know that much about PI coils but I was always under the belief that the further you got from the coil, the smaller the response area? If that were true, when you are going fast and not overlapping (and overlapping again), wouldn't you have a good chance of not even hearing a big, deep target? -
What Backup Detector Do You Carry ?
LipCa replied to Ridge Runner's topic in Metal Detector Advice & Comparisons
Wrong on your PS, chuck When I use my ATX, the GB2 is my backup. When I use my GB2, the GBPro is my backup. -
So much simpler to use Land Matters if you don't know Township, Range, Section, etc. Geocommunication.gov has been garbage for years. Not necessary to use Foxfire for lr2000 Those are good instructions for lr2000
-
Yes, I think you can replace the battery for less than $50

All I know is I had a VSat for two years and found ONE small nugget. I bought a GB 2 and found a 70 grain nugget within 15 minutes of turning it on and paid for the machine in two weeks. Same ground. I know people swear by them..... If I had a brand new one, I'd give it to you Jim.

If you like to drag your coil, open style is a pain.

Depar Dpr 600 - New Gold Detector By XP
LipCa replied to Steve Herschbach's topic in XP Metal Detectors
Look at the size of the "guts" of that machine! With a little engineering, that could have been put inside the handle of the shaft! -
Yes, backup ASP...... One day it will be too late.

Apprehensive About Digging
LipCa replied to usaflaginmaine's topic in Metal Detecting For Coins & Relics
Why got our parks shut down was someone sticking a knife or screwdriver through a plastic irrigation line and someone digging up sprinkler heads. -
Apprehensive About Digging
LipCa replied to usaflaginmaine's topic in Metal Detecting For Coins & Relics
Don't have a pile of dirt there for people to see! BTW, my town doesn't allow detecting in parks and some schools don't allow it either..... check it out first. -
Coin Found Detecting In Indiana River
LipCa replied to tvanwho's topic in Metal Detecting For Coins & Relics
after looking at pics of other 1873 dimes, I don't see the "7" correctly in your photo? Probably just the photo.... -
After using my ATX, I know how those tiny metal pieces of iron/steel are.. I have a 2100 that I used once then I loaned it out and the entire battery system disappeared .. I guess someone needed it more than me.
-
i'll have to try one of those detectors one of these days. good luck in Nome. My son has lived there for years.

I'm sorry, I guess I don't understand why the need to ask for "settings" ?? It almost appears that if you have to ask how to run your detector, you're not learning your detector? I would say, learn your detector before you take a trip where you would hope to find gold. Maybe there is a need to know what everyone else uses?? I guess I just don't understand. Are the Minelabs that complicated ?

Let's put it this way, you're hunting in Australia, do you want to find scraps or the 12 pounder buried 3 feet deep?
