JCR The Chinese when they came over they had them but worthless here. The Chinese were in the gold fields and they were used to build the railroad.. I had a book at one time that you could figure out a date for them. Chuck

Thanksgiving Contest From Gerry's Detectors
Ridge Runner replied to Gerry in Idaho's topic in Detector Prospector Forum
Gerry I all those years my friend and I never was thinking about taking pictures but only on the gold we found. We nugget hunted together and lots of high banking from finding a little to a lot one time. The only pictures I have is what In my mind but they are showing age. But when I call them up they look like it was just yesterday we were working our rears off and enjoying it. One picture I have on my phone and I’ll post it. Thanks! Chuck PS This is not a entry but you know me I like to talk. -
Garrett Axiom On The Way To Customers Now!
Ridge Runner replied to 1515Art's topic in Garrett Metal Detectors
Steve Remember you can’t eat prestige but I’m sure it felt good for a company to put their trust in you to tell it like it is. I thank you and others for putting their time in to make the Axiom for what it is now. Chuck -

Forrest Fenn Treasure Was Found In Wyoming
Ridge Runner replied to Glenn in CO's topic in Detector Prospector Forum
I myself put a large bag of wheat’s back in circulation some years ago and never looked at the dates. Yet even today I get excited when I find one. Chuck -
What I should have said in my above post is your Minelab dealer is surprised about this as much as you are. The sad thing is if the deal you made with a Minelab dealer and been paid they will be hard press to help you getting that extra detector. I almost had a deal going with a dealer and got shot out of the saddle because of it myself. Chuck

The upset ones who just a few days before this bought a detector but don’t get this deal. They are out there and they are not happy campers. It’s said it’s better to be pissed off than pissed on but in this case they got it going and a coming . Well that’s what that day early new buyer is thinking now. Chuck

Strick I have found coins in school grounds I know it didn’t belong there. What I believe is a kid got into a coin collection and took whatever to school and lost it . I’ve heard about kids spending the same for candy at the corner store. Chuck

Hey John One thing you’re standing knee deep in gold country. I got my start back in 61 out of Merced along the 49’s trail. If you find yourself down Texas way say in San Antonio the best I can offer is a Taco. I remember from long time back don’t leave gold to find gold. You can almost walk out your back door to find it that’s gold that is. The Best To You! Chuck

Need Help To Detect Gold Bars 4-6 Feet Deep
Ridge Runner replied to Placer Gold's topic in Detector Prospector Forum
This guy I’m sure wasn’t a pirate and didn’t kill the guys who dug the hole for him to put the treasure in . More than likely it don’t have over 6 inches of dirt and can be located by the average detector. My reasoning behind this is a friend burrowed 7 100 ounce silver bars and showed me where it is . I know it’s was not over 6” in the ground . Digging can turn into work so why bury so deep when you going to dig it up again. Chuck -
The guy on the back of GPAA magazine with the Axiom in the November/December issue is Warren M .You can see it has to be down Australia way It looks like everybody has the Axiom but you and I.haha Chuck

Axiom Not Just For Gold Nuggets
Ridge Runner replied to Steve Herschbach's topic in Garrett Metal Detectors
Years ago when another company came out with their first PI detector I wasn’t using it to nugget but hitting the beaches from Mississippi to South Texas. I was digging up coins deeper than ever before with that PI . Texas is just like Florida in it to has a treasure coast if you know where to look. This new PI bye Garrett I do believe is going to fit the bill for me where I left off with the other PI. As much as I hate to admit I’m getting older and in the need of a lighter detector I know the Axiom is just what it’s going to take to keep me detecting a few more years. So if you down Texas way hunting along the beach and you find two feet sticking up in the air would you be so kind to pull that guy out. It’s probably me I’ve gone and dug a hole deeper than I could get out. That’s just what can happen when hunting on the beach with a PI detector. Chuck -
Steve’s 2022 Australia Adventure, Part 2
Ridge Runner replied to Steve Herschbach's topic in Garrett Metal Detectors
I’m planning a trip beyond where Garrett Company is and they don’t know it but they going to find me on their door step one morning. Just maybe if I’m good and say please I may have the opportunity to hold a Axiom in my hands . I just happen to have a nugget are two to test the Axiom. A air test don’t do much for me but I would like to hear what a nugget sounds like. People it’s power in what we say to Garrett on having Steve at Garrett’s Memorial hunt. The only thing if you do email them remember to eat humble pie and be polite. I found out long ago you can get more with sugar but that don’t hold true with my wife. The first words out of her mouth 👄 is what you want this time. I’m glad that woman don’t ever look what’s said on this forum bye me . I’d go from a rooster to a hen real quick. Chuck -
Steve’s 2022 Australia Adventure, Part 2
Ridge Runner replied to Steve Herschbach's topic in Garrett Metal Detectors
I got that email sent and here’s a reply back from Steve Moore himself. He was telling me what a great guy and a very knowledgeable person Steve is when it comes to detecting. Nothing was said about having Steve are Gerry at Garrett Memorial hunt but that’s a long ways off and both guys may want to stay home to detect with their Axiom. Chuck -
Steve’s 2022 Australia Adventure, Part 2
Ridge Runner replied to Steve Herschbach's topic in Garrett Metal Detectors
Steve don’t just shoot me before you hear me out. I just sent Garrett a email saying how great it would be to have you and Gerry at Garrett’s Memorial hunt in April 2023 . To get into Texas you don’t have to take any test like Australia but it could possibly be hard to get back out. I’ve had the honor of shaking your hand some years back but didn’t talk much. This time you and Gerry could tell me all about the Axiom. You have told us so much about the Axiom already but like to have the Axiom in my hands while you run over it again.haha Heck I’d be willing to buy you both dinner. Now you can’t beat a offer like that. It won’t be tube steak ( hotdogs) I can assure you of that. A friend of mine would say I can’t make it but just send me the money. Chuck -
Steve’s 2022 Australia Adventure, Part 2
Ridge Runner replied to Steve Herschbach's topic in Garrett Metal Detectors
Steve Thanks for taking your time to reply to my two question. I’m sure the last two days has been a busy and a very vocal one at the same time. Garrett needs to have you and Gerry at that outing that Garrett is having April of 2023 . You must admit the flight is not as long as the ones you just made. Chuck -
Steve’s 2022 Australia Adventure, Part 2
Ridge Runner replied to Steve Herschbach's topic in Garrett Metal Detectors
Steve Did you find the Axiom that was sent to you for testing was any different than what Garrett had there for the show and tell? Being you had the opportunity to talk with Minelab and hold the Manticore I don’t guess anything was said about a release date? The Best! Chuck -
For myself I had the 3500 and I found it to be a great detector. To be the biggest problem with a older detector is it goes down is getting it fixed. I’d say with just one coil and if the battery would hold a change the price is more than right. I’m sure others like dealers can help you better than myself. Best of luck! Chuck
