How Much Time Do You Spend At A Site
Ridge Runner replied to stateguy's topic in Metal Detecting For Coins & Relics
Back in 68 I drove 150 miles two weekends to come back to my home town to hunt this house that had two adobe rooms on this wood frame house . The area was about 10 X 15 and total time about 30 hours. Those two rooms had more trash than I’d ever seen. The walls was pushed out and the house was gone. You have to remember this was in the day you had to dig everything. Before it was over I found 30 coins all in the 1800’s . It was American and Mexican coins with the oldest a 1854 half dollar. The last day I was there I was looking around where the house was and was running the coil over some bricks that had been the fireplace when I seen a coin covered in dust. That coin was a Indian head coin . I never got to hunt where the house was because bye the time I could get back I couldn’t get in there anymore . The place now is government housing for old people. Beauty is in the eyes of the beholder I’ll say you’re looking good. Last year my wife was going to buy her brother in law a shovel and I told her she will have to take him with her when she buys it. She wanted to know why and I said you got to be sure his hands will fit the handle. Yes she did believe me for a while. Chuck

Video From Andy Sabisch On V80 Two Videos
Ridge Runner replied to DSMITH's topic in Quest Metal Detectors
Phrunt I hear what you’re saying but on any other detector I turn it on in the morning and turn it off sometime in the afternoon. In that one day it’s turned itself off and on maybe 60 to 80 times. You start adding day after day for a year that could pass what you call life in one year. Do you know what they use to make this all happen? I hope I’m wrong but I guess only time will tell . Chuck -
Video From Andy Sabisch On V80 Two Videos
Ridge Runner replied to DSMITH's topic in Quest Metal Detectors
Here I am thinking again and if I was Quest I’d be wanting what I call the good news of my V 80 detector coming out. I’ve had this well known detector guy doing all this testing on what I hope to be my flagship of my detector line and his videos has been limited to just a few. My first question is did all this testing done maybe didn’t come out in favorable manner that the company wanted. If it did I’d be flooding the market with the good news and everywhere you turn there would be our American tester telling us that we can’t live without it. That’s my first and last question. Something was said that the detector would turn itself automatically off if it didn’t detect movement and turn itself back on with movement. This is to save battery running time in the field. Now turn that around and what is it doing to the circuit with load off and on all the time you out there hunting. I believe over time that will have a detrimental effect on the circuit over time. I see that over time being something you wish you didn’t have when it goes off and don’t come on . Just giving you something to think about. Chuck -
The Best Metal Detector Out There
Ridge Runner replied to Chase Goldman's topic in Metal Detector Advice & Comparisons
Phrunt A detector can be like buying a car a detector works great and the car runs great all the way to the bottom of the hill. The detector and car worked great until you got it. That’s what you call Live and Learn bye your mistake’s. Chuck -
The Best Metal Detector Out There

The Best metal detector is the one you don’t have. Chuck -
If my wife was detecting and using something like that with a cell phone here’s what it would be like . First thing she’d be talking to her sister and at the same time watching a funny video are checking the dog pounds to see what new dogs came in. Between all of this she’d be ordering herself something off Amazon . I report Amazon now if they pass our house without stopping. That’s no joke.Well almost no joke. Chuck

I just watched a video on this detector and it looked as if this family was detecting together with it 😍. The man detecting got a signal with the coil 7 inches off the ground and then the boy got a signal but it never showed them dig either target. It looked to be the same detector as on here. Chuck

Kelley You are in the right place for nugget hunting. We here are always happy for more people to come on board . Hope we can help you and at the same time you could help us. You got another Texan here. You know you got gold gold and you got white gold but in Texas we have black gold. The trouble with it it just is hard to get it to shine. Glad to have you here. Chuck

What I’m thinking is if I start rejecting too many bottle caps I’ll never dig another quarter again. I’ll say this much up front I do not have a Legend. Chuck

Interview And Q & A With Dimitar Gargov Of Tarsacci

The Tarsacci needed a better stand to start with but it’s not too late to correct that problem on the next Tarsacci.. Chuck -
Interview And Q & A With Dimitar Gargov Of Tarsacci
Ridge Runner replied to detectorstuff's topic in Tarsacci Metal Detectors
This is another something I’d like to see and that’s make the ID from 0 to 99 . This would make the Tarsacci numbers reading about the same as other detectors using the same numbers setup. Lowering the price of the Tarsacci wouldn’t make me mad either. That’s just something else to think about. Chuck -
Interview And Q & A With Dimitar Gargov Of Tarsacci
Ridge Runner replied to detectorstuff's topic in Tarsacci Metal Detectors
I’d like to be able to notch out what I want not with the plus are minus that we have now. I’d like to be able to adjust the tones volume. On this I’m talking about when in discrimination the tone is more like two clicks more than a tone . I don’t see this problem in mix mode. Please don’t go with a internal battery. That’s the first thing I like about the Tarsacci is I can take the battery out. People may think it’s great with the battery inside their detector but with my Tarsacci I can take the battery out and forget it for as long as I want. Like others on here I’d want a smaller coil. I’ve always found the trouble with a large coil in a high trash area you get too many targets under your coil at one time. I’m not saying a small coil is going to resolve your trash problem but it helps. Chuck -

Some Interesting News From Quest Detectors
Ridge Runner replied to DSMITH's topic in Quest Metal Detectors
I for one don’t want to use my cell phone other than making calls. I get enough calls on my phone from my wife when I’m in the field and I sure an heck don’t want her calling on my detector . Chuck -
