Ridge Runner replied to oldcoinhunter's topic in Minelab Metal Detectors
oldcoinhunter I too is a oldcoinhunter and we all have a right to our own opinion. You one up on me being you do have that elliptical coil from Coiltek. Please do come back as you get more time with that small coil. I appreciate your opinion and if you will a little show and tell. The Best! Chuck -

Ridge Runner replied to oldcoinhunter's topic in Minelab Metal Detectors
This time I took the time to read his post over again . I come to the conclusion if he would have went over with the Coiltek coil the first time he wouldn’t had to do it again. Chuck -
Coiltek 10x5 Vs GPX 11in Minelab
Ridge Runner replied to oldcoinhunter's topic in Minelab Metal Detectors
Maybe no better but you yourself said it in it could get in places the larger coil couldn’t. Chuck -
If nothing else we had the opportunity to go along with Steve in his videos on the Axiom. I thank him for doing that for all of us but I don’t want to leave out another great guy goes by the name of Gerry with his videos. Gerry’s excitement reverberate in everyone watching his videos when he locates a nugget large are small. Chuck

Your Next Prospecting Trip -- Greenland?
Ridge Runner replied to GB_Amateur's topic in Detector Prospector Forum
Well how many can say they have been to the North Pole and see the monument that’s been placed there to mark it. I’ve been there in a two blade helicopter to see it. I was low enough to read what was said on the monument. Right near there a plane crashed and they sent a helicopter to get them out and it crash too. All this was caused by high winds. Short time later another helicopter was sent in and it made it back out with everyone. When it got total darkness it was hard on people dealing with the darkness 24 hours a day. I’ve seen more than one person loose it and they had to send them back to the 48 to recover. You just couldn’t get too far away from any building because a storm could come up in just a very short time. That storm I told you about in my first post had to get to a 100 below zero if not more say 200 . At 55 was a heat wave and that happen when the sun was standing straight over head 24 hours a day. Before I went there I was told it was a girl behind every tree but you didn’t have any trees. It’s hard land that far north and unforgiving. Chuck -
Your Next Prospecting Trip -- Greenland?
Ridge Runner replied to GB_Amateur's topic in Detector Prospector Forum
Been there in 65 . Had winds three days straight at 150 and gusting to 175 mph . Now on the mountain around the valley I was in got over 200 . Their is a pilot still sitting in his plane waiting for someone to come get him but his signal stop before they could find him. I did bring back a rock that had the color of jade but was full of nickel. A guy I knew done test and it was pure nickel. I’m sure one can find gold there but too dangerous to go far off base . They had them little white bears that loved little white boys for dinner. Chuck -
Gerry When Minelab gives us a update you and Minelab both profit nothing from it . I believe Minelab has come up with improvements that could make a 6000 better than what it is now but why should they . Now Minelab got all this new knowledge and if I was them I’d put it in what I’ll call 6500 . All the gold fever nuts will be saying I’ve got to have it. Oh I’m one of the nuttiest of the bunch. It’s money to be made coming out with the 6500 for Minelab and dealers all the world 🌎 over. Some may say my mama dropped me on my head several times but I say you will see what I said come true. Chuck

Minelab is waiting for those who’s jumping ship and buying this new play toy will then come out with a update on the 6000 . It will be so hot 🥵 you can’t carry a chocolate candy bar in your top shirt pocket. Then Minelab sales will go up because you that sold your 6000 wants back in the game again . The above statement may vary from the truth but I do believe Minelab will do something. If nothing else come out with a 6500 . Chuck

Garrett In Grapevine Texas This Saturday
Ridge Runner replied to Ridge Runner's topic in Garrett Metal Detectors
Yes you’re right Steve . I just get a email from Garrett and they not going to have the Axiom on display. I’d made that 250 mile trip just to see and maybe play with it a little. Who they going to have I don’t watch that show on TV and that’s all I’ll say about them. Now Steve I’d drove another 100 miles to see your pretty face with the Axiom in your hands.haha Another 50 for sure. Chuck -
Garrett is going to be at Bass Pro Shop in Grapevine Tx. from 11 until 1 PM this Saturday 6 of Aug. They talking about a team but you can see it’s not any nugget team . I sent Garrett a message if they would have the Axiom I’d be there but I don’t believe I’ll hear back from them. Chuck

Gold Prospector Nugget With The Axiom
Ridge Runner replied to Gerry in Idaho's topic in Garrett Metal Detectors
Gerry On some of your pictures shown here I see what I call crumbs. If you will go back and put them back in the ground I’ll come behind you to water them so they’ll grow. Be sure to flag each one so I won’t be wasting water . What they call a person that’s concern about the environment? No Gerry It’s not full of Bull S___ . Chuck -
Gold Prospector Nugget With The Axiom
Ridge Runner replied to Gerry in Idaho's topic in Garrett Metal Detectors
Gerry If some others was telling us how good this new PI detector bye Garrett called the Axiom was I’m not sure I’d believe them . It’s said the proof is in the pudding! In this the proof is in the gold nuggets you show that’s been found with the Axiom. I don’t believe another great detector company needs to roll up their sidewalk and go home but the two could make a great team in the gold fields. I enjoy looking at all the pictures you post and I thank you for it . Thanks again! Chuck -
Detecting Gold Nuggets In South America With XP Orx

The great thing about a video it don’t make what different language it’s in because prospectors all speak the same. Thanks for the video. Chuck -
Garrett Axiom Scores Monster Gold Nugget
Ridge Runner replied to Gerry in Idaho's topic in Garrett Metal Detectors
Gerry They said wash your mouth out but spit the dirt in a gold pan because it may have gold in it. You could get another half ounce more. It would be if I was telling the story. Chuck -

Bus Stop Must Stop And Detect
Ridge Runner replied to Ridge Runner's topic in Metal Detecting For Coins & Relics
Kac In the bigger city’s people take the public transportation as they do in San Antonio. Lots here take the bus to work and back home again. With the price of gas going up I believe more will be taking the bus . Now days most people drop a penny won’t think nothing of leaving it where it lay . Here in Texas I think the most snow I’ve had to blaze a trail though has been maybe 6” . Chuck -
One thing I always recommend and it’s going to cost you more money but the first time you want to change coils you will thank me under your breath. That’s a extra shaft. It’s just great to change from one coil to another with in a minute or two in the field. Chuck

For you in a town that has Bus Stop’s and you don’t stop to detect may be passing up treasure beyond your wildest dreams. My father in law got interest in detecting some years ago. His first words was where can I hunt. I told him when he hunts all the bus stops in San Antonio get back with me. He was hunting this one bus stop and moved over just a little beyond it near a clay drain pipe. He got a good signal and the detector said it’s a dollar. He dug down about 6” beside that clay pipe and out pops a 18 something silver dollar. That old boy who put that drain pipe in had to be the one who lost it. Sorry had it been yesterday I couldn’t remember the date. Another time I’d had ask him if he had hunted this major bus stop at this mall. Part of that bus stop was grass but bye the time he got to it the grass was gone . The area to hunt was around 25 X 12 . Later I ask how well did he do . He said he was getting so many signals he just sat on the ground and moving the coil around just holding onto the shaft. He told me he found other coins but had found a little over 13 dollars in Pennie’s. He found rings also around bus stops and I’ve found some myself. You would be surprised at what people lose around them. Just think how many bus stops you pass on the way to work each day. Chuck

NAGANT Heck why don’t you play it safe and buy both. I’d say it will be times when one works better than the other. It’s only money and I don’t care who says they going to take it with them but that’s a bigger joke than some I tell. The Best To You! Chuck

Hard Prospector Sit back I got to tell you a story about this old cowboy . This old cowboy had been in this bar drinking a little too long and some guys said let’s play a trick on him. So he had his horse tied up outside and they went out there then they turned his saddle around. After about another hour of drinking the cowboy said I’m going home. So out the door he went staggering all the way. It hadn’t been over 10 minutes he came back howling that someone had cut his horses head off and he’s still breathing. One of the guys in the bar ask how could someone cut your horses head off and he’s still breathing? The old cowboy said I know he is. The guy ask how do you know. The old cowboys reply was I stuck my finger in his windpipe and he’s still breathing. Chuck
