  1. That's one heck of a die error!!, and you found it with a metal detector and not coin roll hunting!! GaryC/Oregon Coast
  2. They should be spending their time looking for the meteorite. GaryC/Oregon Coast
  3. Please update us your observations with your glued on cover, Steve. Maybe every five hunts to see if the adhesive kept the moisture and sand out. At least you can see through the cover to see if the glue is degrading. Will consider this fix after you have tested it for awhile. Thanks, GaryC/Oregon Coast
  4. Lots of hunters with the same idea! No fix for the sand under the coil cover unless you permanently glue the two together. Cleaning it out after hunting in the water is a must. GaryC/Oregon Coast
  5. It's not worth the time or effort, just wrap it with tape and your done. Mine was returned fixed but there was little or no change in the cam not being able to tighten it down. Tape did the trick. Just my two cents. GaryC/Oregon Coast
  6. That's quite a nice nugget for your first natural gold! You are in a good spot indeed! GaryC/Oregon Coast
  7. I'd feel lucky to get a shot at that one myself. Right place at the right time. At least you beat the locals. Nice finds! GaryC/Oregon Coast
  8. Not worth sending in for repair Steve. My rod was just replaced with another one with minimal change in the looseness of the twist lock . Taping is the answer in the short term. Minelab did a super job on Email response and paid shipment both ways. Kudos for that but did not solve the main problem which really was minor. GaryC/Oregon Coast
  9. NICE!!! My back hurts just looking at all that rock. If you look at the picture long enough the pain goes away! GaryC/Oregon Coast
  10. I don't like the sound of that! Will watch that myself GaryC/Oregon Coast
  11. I have found the larger pieces of gold (not patches), meaning over a 1/4 ounce (not that I have found that many) in the most unusual places that can't be logically or technically explained. People just tell me "Gold is where you find it". Sometimes you just have to leave it at that. GaryC/Oregon Coast
  12. Got mine on Gerrys second shipment. Headphones look good. I did return my unit to have a lower rod cam replacement. Not sure what they did but it was a negligible improvement. I was probably over sensitive to the perceived wobble in the shaft. My X-Terra 705 is the same way. Thought I would address the problem before it got worse. Minelab was super fast on fix and return. Can't say enough about the good service in this facility! GaryC/Oregon Coast
  13. That is a nice one! What's the weight? Yes, bigger gold with using the muscle power in your head. GaryC/Oregon Coast
  14. Looks like Fort Powatan, Virginia when I hunted for Civil War relics. Trees shoulder to shoulder! That's an awesome site! GaryC/Oregon Coast
  15. How about a general view of the area, if it won't give too much away. Thanks, GaryC/Oregon Coast
  16. That's a nice clean one 1afox! GaryC/Oregon Coast
  17. Amazing recovery. When I was part of Ring Finders in California they would only notify me of the lost rings 75-100 miles from me. Seems you drove that far and more to get that gig. You are probably still drawing off that Karma today! NICE! GaryC/Oregon Coast
  18. Thanks Scott, got mine today. If you would have put a return address I would have sent you some stamps!, just saying. I appreciate the nice job you did on these. GaryC/Oregon Coast
  19. That is amazing. I had no clue. I haven't hunted the beach too much but on the south jetty where the wind surfers go looks like a place to give it a try. I've seen many lawn chairs out there on occasion. Getting to the south jetty is the problem. It's a long, long walk. GaryC/Oregon Coast
  20. Thanks canslawhero, Cal-Cobra, Steve for the individual information. I probably will learn the machine first as set up and then move into five tones with no rejection as I am accustom to. So many ways to hunt with this machine. GaryC/Oregon Coast
  21. I wouldn't think very small diamonds in the rough would be that clear to see through. I thought rough diamonds were somewhat cloudy until cut or polished. Just guessing here. GaryC/Oregon Coast
  22. OK, I'm coming from using an X-Terra 705 to a Nox. I have hunted in all metal for many years now with the 705 and have become accustom to all the mixed signals. Is this feasible with the Nox, lets say in Park 1? I know there are lots of options to opt out of all metal when needed but will all metal hunting be the best use starting out with this machine?
