  1. Boom! You got the gold, silver, & copper trifecta, F350, congrats and very well done! That heart shaped stone looks like a ruby to me in that light. It's a little too pink to be a garnet. 😉 Way to go, amigo! You're making me miss the beach again! 😎
  2. Congrats on your button find, well done!
  3. I am curious about the Nokta Accupoint since we can't get the Russian Sphinx 03. I really haven't missed the ferrous ID since getting the MI-6, but I recently thought of a useful scenario for ferrous/non-ferrous discrimination. So if the Accupoint can meet or exceed the depth of my MI-6 in my soil and discriminate accurately, then I'll probably snag one, unless the MI-7 comes out with ferrous/non-ferrous descrimination. 😏 But I'll probably wait for @F350Platinum to do his in depth report first! 😉
  4. Cool finds, Geologyhound, well done! The brass "badge" looks like a belt buckle or possibly horse tack to me. The .45 bullet looks like .45 ACP, probably from WWI to WWII era.
  5. Cool finds, JCR, well done! It looks like the Versa is doing a great job. That tag resembles miner's tags we find in Colorado, but ours have a round hole. With the initials J. E. and the superimposed JE between them, it could also be a baggage tag.
  6. I have noticed that switching to 24 kHz seems to help quite a bit with quieting EMI without losing depth on the 11" coil. The 9" coil does have a little less depth but I rarely have to do anything more than a quick frequency scan to quiet it down. I too don't mind it being a little chatty I'm it's hitting deep targets, and in most of my in-city sites I usually only find a small spot of heavy EMI and will plow through it, but the D2 goes nuts if there's another D2 in the neighborhood! 😏
  7. I loved my ProFind 35 until it finally died. I used my Fisher F-Pulse after that and it is the deepest I have used. After I got my XP Deus 2, I also got the MI-6 to pair with it and it is almost as deep as the F-Pulse but more sensitive on tiny targets. So I use the MI-6 most of the time and use the F-Pulse as a back-up for extremely deep targets.
  8. Beautiful coin and an awesome find SwiftSword, well done! I would like to know more about how you get that crud layer off. I've recently been finding old silver coins in dump sites and it seems like that crud is impossible to remove, specially if I try to use soap and water, it just blackens and hardens. what tools do you use?
  9. Great finds, o.g., well done and congrats on the gold! 😎 The other ring (band) in photos 3 & 4 looks like it might be silver?
  10. General, Relic, Dive, and all the Beach Programs are frquency subtractive programs that can be an adavantage when dealing with wet ground. I think that is why the beach hunter in North Carolina probably uses it and it may work well there in his conditions. I have only been on one beach so far with my D2. I used a modified Beach Sensitive and it performed very well in and out of the Pacific salt water. I did use Goldfield on the dry sand to check iffy targets and it was great for that, but was unusable in the salt surf.
  11. Congrats again, Skully, and well done dodging the dangerous mermaids! 😉
  12. More great finds, Compass, well done and congrats on the silver and gold! 😎
  13. Thanks, F350! I had to look the Spigen thing up after you mentioned it. I thought it was some kind of zipper pull or something, but it's a universal phone "kickstand". 😏
  14. I agree with @F350Platinum, V1.1 was hot on the remote and V2.0 feels more fine tuned. Since updating I have made some amazing finds in heavy iron littered sights. It just may be coincidence, but I definitely feel like the audio and VID are even more accurate. I actually haven't used the WS6, which I keep as a back-up to the remote, but I updated it to 2.0-Special to fix the pinpoint thing. I actually don't mind the lower pinpoint audio because I always wear headphones or earbuds and it was blaringly loud before V2.0. I really only use the pinpoint function to sometimes size targets.
  15. Awesome story and return, mn, well done! That earned you some gold karma, so your next hunt should net you some gold for sure! 😎
  16. A few day ago I decided to pop back over to the park where I have found old artifacts and my first silver Seated Liberty Quarter and a silver Mercury dime to see if I could eke out anything more. I was headed to the spot near the creek running the same Fast relic program when I heard some loud iron and non-ferrous tones mixed together. I've learned to check out anything that sounds different at this spot so I dug down about a foot and pulled out a old wooden plank with some rusted iron bands and lead sheeting on it. Is it from a stagecoach strong box or could it be part of the Templar treasure from Oak Island... I just don't know. 😏 Well old stuff is a good sign. I kept finding older hand forged iron things and knew I was getting close. Unfortunately so was a rainstorm, so I had to cut the hunt short. The last thing I hit before packing it out was what looked like a small hub cap or metal bowl. It was filled with caked dirt and mud so into the trash pouch it went. When I got home and sorted everything out I dug the dirt out of the bowl which turned out to be brass and the was some kind of badge inside fixed to the bottom. After cleaning some more it turned out to be an older Yellowstone Park badge with a grizzly bear on it. I have no idea how old it is but Yellowstone was the first US National Park founded in 1872 so who knows. I also found an old door latch with a skeleton key type keyhole, an old spike probably from the Tramway that used to run there in the 1800s, some bits of glass and pottery, and the two parts of an old fish-shaped doodad that were buried about three feet apart. The Trash: While it wasn't as good as the previous two hunts there, it was still cool stuff, but it was about to get better! I went back the next day with high hopes thinking the ground would be moist and should be lighting up with some good targets. Well as I approached my "hot-spot" I could hear someone yelling and screaming at the top of his lungs. I peeked around the turn in the trail and there was some homeless guys about to throw down, so I figured I'd just hunt in the main park until the drama subsided and they left. Unfortunately, they never left, they fought and went quiet and fought some more! I hunted through the park grass and was finding modern stuff like clad coins, a broken flashlight, a modern brass Eye of Horus pendant, and a pretty cool black stainess steel cross and chain. I started working back toward the car and decided to check the small hill where I had found the 1800s Denver Tramway coat button. I wasn't getting much until I hit an old brass clock mounting back. Then some more older bits and then, BAM, lighting struck! Not literally, but I hit a strong 93 and again, thinking it was a modern clad quarter, I started to chuck it into the pouch, but stopped because it was caked with crud, and looked just like the Seated Quarter had looked before cleaning. I couldn't make out anything on one side so I flipped it over and there was an old eagle, but a little different looking. I grabbed my phone and did a quick search and found it to be a silver Barber Quarter and another first for me! I was super excited to get home and clean this one up. Unfortunately this one was pretty toasted. The back was in reasonably good shape but the front was melted from having been in a fire. I was able to get the first three numbers of the date which are 189 but I can't make out the last number. So it's an 1890s date. Well it doesn't matter to me, it's another first, and a silver, and a Barber, so I'm darned happy again! Trash:
  17. Thank for your settings, NCt! That's similar to the Silver Slayer program that I use for parks, but I haven't used the sensitive programs much and have been experimenting more with them lately. I'll give your program a try, thanks again!
  18. Nice! And reflective tape for night hunting is an awesome idea, thanks! 😎
  19. Great finds, TripleT, and congrats on the the honkin' gold ring, well done!😎
  20. Great haul, NCt, and congrats on the silver and possible gold, well done!
  21. I've seen that some water hunters paint their coils a bright color or add bright colored tape to the to better see the coil in water.
  22. Great hunt, sohN, well done! It good to venture outside of your comfort zone every now and then. It keeps you sharp and sometimes, as you found out, it pays off. 😎
  23. Great finds, Jeff, well done and congrats on the Seated Dime! That insect pin is an odd find for sure. It's funny what the ladies thought was all the rage back in the day, of course I'm sure they'd say the same for the modern folks. 😉
