The larger the coil the deeper it will go on a good size chunk of metal.  If conditions allow, the Mother Ship 40" would be a good choice provided you have something to push or pull it with.  It is the larger orange coil at the top of the photo.  Also realize terrain can change the size of coil in an area to be used.

I am aware that this is a very old thread but i also went with the 18'' Elite Mono,someone had purchased on brand new and never used it,but grabbed it at a bargain price of well under half price,of course it wont be used much but could not let this bargain go and will probably sit in the cupboard for a long time but i do use it occasionally when after real deep artefacts or hoards.
