  2. Thanks RVP, Compared the coin haul to last year, and this year I did better. Last year: This year: But I did get far fewer Zincolns and nickels. Part of the coin success was hunting the golf cart parking, I was hoping to find some jewelry there too. I also hunted the tot lots, volleyball, basketball court, Cornhole area. Noticed a regular footprint pattern in the volleyball court so someone was hitting all that daily, probably a resident. Only two other detectorists I met there seemed to know what they were doing, one noob guy from New Yawk graciously asked me for settings on his Nox, I helped him out. The other three were swinging so high I'm surprised they found anything. Wish I could post the video of one of them 🤣 🤔 Here's an example: The water was fairly warm but the waves were pretty big, I'm not a fan of it. Met one guy who was years in the biz, he said he knew the gold was out there too but he also made do at low tide. He didn't trust his Nox as much as I trust the Deus, so he dug lots of big iron. I would love to have my wife out there with me, but her knee, hip, and back disagree. 😢 I knock off early, get breakfast and take her shopping, then she doesn't mind me going out later. No stranger to Neoprene waders in the Potomac, it doesn't get warm until August. 🥶 Also millions of jellyfish, it's a wonder anyone goes in. I've given moms vinegar from the summer stash in my truck. 😬 Going next week to the (inner) Outer Banks, a campground with lots of old stuff and clad that was a hunting camp in the 1800s. Even got a large cent and some old silvers there. I want to try again to get in the Sound, but physics are against you when you're up to your neck. Scooping is near impossible. 🙄

  4. thanks for the reply,im looking at getting a second controller but i dont know for sure that it will work with the ws4 phones,,barry
  5. Should work. Sold as a package. I’m in the same boat, but I can’t pull the trigger because for 250 more I could get a D2 WS6. I don’t want to go the distance for the D2, but I can’t buy a D1 controller because the price is too close. So, I’m stuck in the middle.
  6. I'm thinking about buying the LG24, but I wonder if it's really worth and whether there's an real advantage over the LG30. Some of my fields are really trashy and/or noisy due to the soil, so I have to hunt almost in M3, because M1 and M2 leads to a lot of (false) signals. Could the LG24 in this case an advantage? Best regards GermanGuy

  10. hi everyone, some advice please,,i have a deus lite with no control box,ws4 head phones..i would like to get a controller,, so my question is will the controller work with the ws4 phones ( witch all ready has the menu settings ) any info please thanks barry
  11. Thanks Dig4gold. It’s amazing how things have progressed over the years. The old coils must have been extremely heavy.
  12. I am a beach hunter with non-mineralized sand and not near the iron in the ground that you have. My problem child is aluminum. When I have a piece of non-ferrous aluminum next to another type metal which is also non-ferrous, what you are doing by crossing in all directions usually sniffs out the good target at a different location on the non-ferrous center line. Meaning I have two dots showing up on the line (with the aluminum dot being to the left usually under 12 or so positioning) and the ID #'s bouncing between the two on at least one direction sweep. I run prospecting audio, so that's different from your set up also. I run recovery 4 and sensitivity on dry sand at 21 in beach low conductor mode, again different from what you have yet we both have trash that we are trying to differentiate when close to a good target. I think in your case of iron falsing, the official word from Minelab quoted above that fishersari posted is valuable info to know that may help in your testing/experimenting.
  13. I had been seriously looking at going down the Garrett wireless headphone route a few month back but a few folks who actually own this setup also mentioned about the signal dropping out, they are not cheap so i went down the route of using a LL wireless Bluetooth Transmitter that i purchased from Ebay for £14 and i had all ready got a set of wireless Bluetooth LL headphones that i use on my Nox......works a treat on both my Nox and GPX and saved me a ton of money into the bargain. Some folks will undoubtedly praise the Garrett setup but alas they are not for me.
  14. Interesting link Simon. The price of gold depends on your country and the USA economical state.
  15. You can sell more swing arms for mops than for detectors. Quick Simon, patent that thought!
  16. Dont Forget the Saga Swing Arm @Doc it gives you great control LOL
  17. From personal experience of using the ms3 Z Link (Transmitter only) I would go with a low Latency Bluetooth wireless transmitter and the Avantree Torus Neckband speaker system something like the Avantree Relay and the Avantree Torus Neckband speaker system. the reason I state what I have is with the Garrett ms3 Z Link it can only be used with the Garrett wireless headphones unless you go with the ms3 Z ink that includes the TX transmitter and the RX receive box then you could use any wired headphones plugged into the RX box, with a wireless Bluetooth Transmitter you could use any wireless earbuds that are aptX LL compatible and you would be completely wire free Links attached for the Avantree Torus and Avantree Relay, these are the way I would go https://avantree.com/torus-nb05-bluetooth-wearable-speaker https://avantree.com/relay-airplane-bluetooth-adapter I also tried the Quest Wire Free Lite which is similar to the Garrett MS 3 Z Link https://www.fortbedfordmetaldetectors.com/detekniy-wire-free-lite-headphones
  18. Over the middle of the Pacific as I type. Can't work on uploading pictures and don't really want to try. I'll do that another time. Too many to think about now.
  19. Well I vaguely remember chores. But that is why I got married. Being the male chauvinist pig that I am, I thought your wife was supposed to take over all the chores your parents made you do. Otherwise, what is the point of getting married? I could have stayed in my parent's basement and kept playing with my Xbox. I mean we didn't have a basement and Xbox's weren't invented then, but still... 🤣 Doc
  20. A news article about the Chinese buying gold like there is no tomorrow, helping keep the pricing up and increasing it. China is buying gold like there is no tomorrow There is no question China is driving the price of gold. This is another article about the gold "beans" they are buying. 21. Nugget Finders early coils were fibreglass as was Minelabs "Dust Bin Lid" mono coils for the SD2000. Nice job on the coil cover too. Fun project. Thanks for sharing. D4G
  22. way back before they. invented coil covers I cut a big rubber band out of a inner tube and stretched it around the coil.
  23. I don't know if the kit is the same, but the MS3 system that comes with the Axiom is JUNK. It is so weak and directional that it drops out if you set the detector down next to you to run a scoop over the coil.! Or if a large bug gets between the detector and the headphones it seems. Don't even think about any Proprietary Systems like these that require you use ONLY Their headphones, you can buy a Low Latency Bluetooth Transmitter much cheaper on Amazon, then use ANY low latency Bluetooth headphones or any other low latency devise you want.
  24. Thanks for the heads up on PVC Jasong. I’ll make sure that I’m careful with its use. I work in a well ventilated area so that helps but I wouldn’t like to be doing this too often after what you said. Looks like the polycarbonate might be a better long term choice. Now that I have a couple of spare skid plates, I won’t have to do any more work on this for quite a while. Peter, the skid plate is flat on the bottom but one photo gives the impression that it may be domed. I must have angled to coil slightly so that it gave that impression. I did notice that this morning after I’d posted. My bad, sorry.
  25. I'm considering getting an ms3 z-link kit to go cordless. Please comment with your thoughts and experience with this setup.
