The Seeker
Went to a rocky beach that I only visit during winter months and it paid off with a small 10k ring. I only spent a few hours digging since it’s a PITA with all the rocks. The ring broke while I was rubbing the sand off. Thanks for looking and HH. About 70% of the rings come out broken. The one bent I nailed it with the scoop.
Compass
Congrats on the silver and gold Seeker- looks like a great spot! Yes, 10K gold gets pretty brittle. Even old class rings will shatter if you drop them on a hard surface. Pretty sure that rings get smashed by tumbling among the rocks. I have found shards of silver that used to be rings. normmcq
My bad 10K gold is 41.7 per cent gold, depending what it is alloyed with it could be very brittle. I wouldn't throw them away, gold is gold nice finds! Norm
geof_junk
The rings I got that were broken, were due to the cutting and re-sizing for smaller fingers. Most were 9 karat and were gold soldered together. However I maybe wrong.

Thanks Compass. This spot destroys jewelry and coins, some of the coins come out paper thin. Congrats on completing your Cartier, it’s a beauty. Hope you have Golden year again 👍🏼
