  1. Can you please explain this statement more? What and when was it jumping around???
  2. You can run the sensitivity up and make almost all conditions false. Two things to remember: A stationary coil above the ground that is falsing is EMI. A coil that is moving and getting falsing is seeing minerals. The falsing shows as small ticks in the audio. Usually gives no VDI number unless really bad. If the machine does give VDI's off black sand they should be negative. Quality headphones will help understand that machine language better.
  3. Do not trust ANY VDI's at depth on a salt beach with the Equinox.
  4. Me Too. I think the "depth" myth between the two modes is over rated. Several times when I have located a deep target, I have switched to Beach 1. Just don't see the difference. Will do this today again to refresh my memory.
  5. I knew. Thanks for speculating.
  6. This is not true. I have heard the Deus2 in his vids struggle. The key is what sensitivity and depth with the same conditions? Also, just because a detector can silence EMI, does not equate to it working better. Quite frankly I am appalled at anyone testing both detectors, keeping them both on. Closer then 100' apart. Third- Quality headphones are the decider of how the machine works. NOT the machine on speaker.
  7. OK, I am getting little hints that the Deus 2 may be more sensitive/affected by EMI? So the question is: Which machine can run hotter in EMI? Please no speculation. Only users that have tested both machines in a known EMI spot. Especially beach modes. I am not talking about how the Equinox and Deus2 react with each other. I am asking about EMI from power sources and telecommunication equipment. Thanks
  8. THIS, is why I use Loctite Marine Epoxy for ALL my coil needs.
  9. Just no reason to run a coil cover at the beach. Light coating of loctite marine epoxy and off to the races.
  10. Neither of these two machines will compare with the Deus2.
  11. With all the broken pods and coil ear issues that I have had, Minelab should pay me.
  12. Yes, no more wired headphones. Yes, the detector is 100%, other than the rear jack. In fact, this detector runs smoother than my other 800. No, just in the splash zone. I have just ordered the phones that 350 Platinum just recommended. Also noticed the attachment screw bases that attach it to the rod are all cracked up. I don't even use the detector as a grip. Minelab Junk. Deus needs to ship to Mexico now!
  13. Fast service..........😒 Thanks for submitting a ticket. I do want to let you know that it looks like the warranty for your machine expired back in December 2020. I sent your ticket/email over to the technician to be sure and they confirmed, but you would be looking at needing a whole new control pod. Unfortunately, there are no serviceable parts on the control pods, aside from the battery. I wanted to let you know this, since the cost would be about $429 since the detector is out of warranty. I am sorry I don't have better news.
  14. So my headphone connector went all the way into the pod and would not tighten. It seems like the it broke or unscrewed. Now my headphones will not work. Out of warranty heading back to Minelab soon. Chit.
  15. Great find Jeff, a bit boring but some tells..... Wow, that is crappy Black Sand! Another person holding the coil off the sand? His style? Or necessary function? I DO NOT like holding my coil off the sand. Overall very quiet and I actaully might have hunted higher sensitivity. I was impressed there was no falsing with the black sand and moving water coming past the coil. A real problem with the Equinox where I am right now, but my black sand granules are larger. Lost a few targets in the hole once loose. However I would expect this with the heavy minerals he was working in. The Deus2 has tracking GB, does it not??? Still waiting for someone to engage this at the beach......may solve some issues. Asked Calabash the other day and did not get a response. KEEP THEM COMING!!!
  16. I was in moderate black sand and had an iron target about 6" away. I had to work around to center it. Rang in at a 12 on the beach. Just tried it in the condo with some EMI and it was 13-14.
  17. Clearly Aaron is a guy who was ALL-IN. Give him some space, he will be back!
  18. Fresh off the beach! Good to have one of these down early in the season!
  19. No, you lost the target because the Nox has a break-down in detection when: The hole fills with water, and the target may get sideways. It is not your fault. I know, buried a few targets today #%$&$&(*)_(*_$T
  20. I think the makers of the Legend are re-checking to see if they missed any parts from the Equinox. [did I just say that]
