I personally am going to get a jumper made up to run my Black Widow headphones.

It has been 20 years since I put a detector on soil. Are nickel's worth the same coming out of the ground 20 years ago as now........nothing. Just food for thought.

We will see. Will have one in my hands Friday and on the beach with it. Hope I don't break the crappy shaft.

YES.....Not cheap..........

Not what I asked. Do you know the cost of a stand alone coil.

Do you know how much coils are for the deus?

Testers Are Scaring Off Newbies! Maybe?
midalake replied to PhaseTech's topic in Metal Detector Advice & Comparisons
Yes there are people who do not have enough experience and go around calling themselves "testers" Hopefully the new people get to some of the more experienced people to make their decisions. I thought my Equinox was over chatty yesterday and it even drove me nuts. 😁 -
It is being "horded"

Deus 2 Not Detecting Quarters Very Well

I do not use the PP mode at the beach. The 15" coil is made for recovery in Horseshoe mode. So in horseshoe mode I just keep X-ing forward. With the taper of the coil it is really easy to see where you lose the target. Come back on the target slightly, and stuff the scoop in right behind the coil two inches. Really deep, fringe targets will center more forward on the coil, but keep the same dig point. As the deeper the target is, one has a tendency to scoop away from you more.

I am appalled a $1,500 hundred dollar detector doers not have a rod with enough spine for water hunting.

You have to really understand everyone's site is different. When I have two miles of beach to cover in 3 hours, the 15" comes out. I am still impressed with the small targets this thing finds. On a wet sand salt beach I can either run par sensitivity or one position less. The 15" coil serves a need!

But did you "have" to run the dive program? Could you get away with running the beach mode in the spot you were at?

Deus 2, Disappointed By What I Saw
midalake replied to diggindaboot's topic in Metal Detector Advice & Comparisons
Can you please explain this statement more? What and when was it jumping around??? -
You can run the sensitivity up and make almost all conditions false. Two things to remember: A stationary coil above the ground that is falsing is EMI. A coil that is moving and getting falsing is seeing minerals. The falsing shows as small ticks in the audio. Usually gives no VDI number unless really bad. If the machine does give VDI's off black sand they should be negative. Quality headphones will help understand that machine language better.
-
Do not trust ANY VDI's at depth on a salt beach with the Equinox.

I'll be sure not to watch.

I knew. Thanks for speculating.
