  1. MR Lawrie say's more power to the coil in a couple vid's. I think it's for discrimination ability as anything, guessing.
  2. Great link Luis! Machine in action with designer along side.
  3. phrunt+ You are one of the best posters ever! Your real time experience is the best, thanks.
  4. Same basic grip but that i have lived with. Did he say power was close to the 30/30? Heard 50% more then the EQ so EMI (supposed to be better) and discrimination will be needed. Want to see how menu works, quick access to saved programs, like the telescopic shaft and the target graph maybe. Steve is right on about 4 years of feedback and tweak time. And the legend probably lit a fire under them to get it out well before Xmas. just a few weeks ago we had a minelab wish list thread and i wanted a improved tougher nox, think i said Hardnox. This looks like it.
  5. only thing missing was cricket sounds
  6. Hope they give an discount option for people needing a new EQ pod😉
  7. Cad grads gone wild! That rib design is probably strong as hell as a whole but knock one of the ribs off a projection and it might be back to the house. Looks to me that there are coil ears. Lower shaft might have a center block plus wider set of ears? What i don't see is a traditional coil bolt. !5 inch coil in water sounds like stirring molasses.
  8. Hey It's got a flashlight symbol so ya know it must be DEEP! Not liking the user profile location eitther, great tool but frustrating to use for cross checking. Navigating the menu, love to see that instead of dragons. Just glad it's not covered in skulls🙃
  9. Coal klinkers = burnt coal i think
  10. Sounds like a great combo! All i've heard about the vista seem good. I knew tesoro pretty well so I'm intrigued by this unit.
  11. With that many nickels I'd try it again, good odds there might be a gold something still there. About 1997 i hit a beach and two guy's were leaving when i got there. They had Minelabs, all i found were nickels with my Tesoro golden µmax. Don't know if they were silver sniping or what but not a clad quarter or dime did i find either. I was running no notch as i had no idea how to use it then, later i figured it out and could notch square tabs and some ring pulls out and got better at finding gold compared to before.
  12. found this map with mineral locations and allowed area's. There is a great lidar base map that would be helpful to relic/coin hunters. One place I'd like to visit along with NZ. https://www.mrt.tas.gov.au/mrt_maps/app/list/map?bmlayer=3&srs=EPSG:4283&layers=920,873
  13. +1 on better waterproofing at least for the Equinox plus beef control pod and maybe bulge the top of the grip . Call it the "Hard Nox" as it had a tough puberty😉
  14. AGREE! Scooped some deeper targets and only used pinpoint to check size.
  15. I had it down with stock coil but sounds a little different with this coil. Just digging everything smaller then a beer can to get used to it.
  16. Had a little time and felt good so went to the river and set my chair up and hit the water. About an hour later with a pouch full of scrap i headed for my coffee cup swinging along. Right in front of the chair i got a great high tone. Nice little sterling ring! Poped it on my key chain. Pic shows the scoop in the silver hole. Haad a lot more trash but emptied out once before
  17. Old thread but good info. Anyway i sent my pod and coil about 2 years ago and it was the coil so Minelab replaced it. I'd like to get my pod replaced, out of warranty and screen seems to freeze occasionally right after i make an adjustment. Still works when it happens and only lasts about 20 seconds then back to normal. Plus i really don't trust dunking it, bought in 2018.
  18. He genuinely loves the hobby and put out a ton of good info. I think he has categorized his youtube channel really well. His group hunts sometimes have people discussing targets by I.D. and sound, settings and with different detectors, interesting.
  19. I think it would be 1874 is the year that came out. Tried to find a reference for the stamp but no go. They had a couple cartridges that were very close in length and in .44 and .45 cal. Black powder in a bottle neck case is a strange area but got the job done. Now find a Sharps😀
  20. I bet a cartridge collector would pay something for that.
  21. The E. Remington and Sons .44-90 was 2 and 7/16" long, might be it.
  22. What was the reading? weird looking for sure, but i suck at geology.
  23. If i put the time in a ring or two pops up here. August is low water and i do better. The Coiltek coil cover is loose so i used electrical tape, works. Thinking of putting a bead of liquid tape around inside edge of the cover and let it dry. Anyone ever ask Coiltek if you can get a well fitting replacement?
