  1. Yup... send me all the lead weights. Saltwater fishing is one of my passions, and lead gets expensive when you are losing them all the time to the ocean! I'm perfectly happy when hunting beaches to find lead along with jewelry and coins!
  2. Can you post a link to the company or supplier you purchased from? I can't find a supplier with less than a 100 piece minimum order!
  3. I have much to learn, Sensei! How may I join the temple to find the path to enlightenment?
  4. I received the 35 barely used from a member here at a great price. On arrival, I tested it against my Garrett Carrot, and find it much easier to use, with better adjustment ease, as well as being capable of deeper activation on coins. The non-ferrous capability is phenomenal, and it is designed not to affect your detector while riding on your belt. Speaking of belts...the one thing I really DON'T like is the very narrow and tight belt loop on the holster. I would have much preferred the Molle-capable snap and velcro style of the Garrett. Someone wasn't thinking at Minelab. It won't fit on any wide belt. I may have it modified with a velcro fold-over and snap. All in all, a fantastic new Pinpointer, and I think my Garrett will end up in my son's or wife's MD equipment...at least for now!
  5. They don't honor the military discount offered by Minelab. Too much trouble for them. I don't support any company that has the opportunity to offer a discount to the military and vets at no financial cost to them (MineLab rebates them), but refuses to do so because it's a pain. Well...we vets and military have endured pain for them. Guess no tit for tat. They don't get my business, regardless of their available stock! I'll continue to wait.
  6. Or..... you could have a bunch of replicas like Kellyco's ridiculous "bonus" gift made up. Probably cost about $3/ea, if that! LOL! It's an "Authentic" Replica. Geez! Kellyco 1715 Spanish 8 Escudos Gold Coin Replica
  7. Minelab is missing the boat on potential sales of the CTX 3030 and E-TRAC. Their software only works on Windoze. Yuck! I would actually have an interest in purchasing a 3030 if the software was compatible with a Mac, but I'll be damned if I had to buy a Windoze PC in order to run their program. And for those who have the suggestion of just using Bootcamp..forget it. I won't pollute my Macs with ANY Windows crap, even in a virtual mode. C'mon Minelab, hire a programmer to port the program, and earn a bunch of new customers for your highest end FSB's! (Indian Programmers are cheap!)
  8. We have a recreation/sports park about two miles from my house that is tucked away in the back of a housing area, off the main road, and with no signs indicating the park is there to traffic. It consists of a soccer field, baseball field, roller hockey rink, playground, and paved bike/walking paths. When I first found it, I immediately thought it might be possible that this park may have been overlooked by MD'ers, since most of them work the beaches and the VERY public parks. This was an opportunity to test my newly acquired Equinox knowledge. My hunch turned out to be correct! VIRGIN! I have only worked less than 5% of the park, mostly around the playground, and the pull was fantastic, with about 50% of the finds less than 2" underground. I worked it for about three hours, and seriously got tired going up and down on my knees! This is a coinshooter's dream... No silver, and copper pennies back to 1964, but target after target after target! Biggest surprise was the Nox's absolute accuracy on dimes. 95% of the time I saw solid, static 25 on the TID, it was a dime...and a lot of them. Very VERY pleased with the Nox, and the 800 I will receive at some point will only make it better! N,D,Q's all clad, so after checking key dates, tumbled. Dimes were smacked at 25 down to as low as 8". Pennies ranged from 21-25. Quarters at 28-29 and nickels came in at 13. Park 2, GB, Sens 22 and then down to 15 when she started chattering badly, recovery max, notched out all below 12 and 14 (which was verified for tabs). The all-metal pump procedure was fantastic for ID'ing junk. Also, single frequency look on suspicious targets was effective. Not shown are the 32 pennies, of which only 8 were zincolns. The four 1982 pennies were all 3.11g coppers as well. Totals: Quarters - 17 (earliest 1972) Dimes - 34 (Earliest 1966) Nickels - 4 Pennies - 32 (Earliest 1964) Half of a broken junk metal bracelet Cloth backed and rotting CZ bracelet Going to work that park to death in the coming days, weeks, and months!
  9. My guess is that translates to relic hunting and archeological sites.
  10. I bought the Hawg after comparing a lot of shovels. I'm glad I did. I love it! This shovel cuts plugs like a hot knife through butter...and clean cuts as well. Very sharp edges out of the box. The only thing I wasn't thrilled about was the bright orange color, but I took care of that with a rattle can of Olive Gray Rustoleum paint. The sheath that comes with the shovel is also nice and is made to last. Not very heavy, and well made. One of the happiest purchases I have made in recent times! It's giving Lesche a run for the money!
  11. I already had my dealer put me on as #1 on the waiting list for any and ALL Equinox accessories and coils. For once, I won't have to wait forever! (I am still #4 on the 800 list and waiting, but I have my 600 working hard and learning fast!)
  12. Thinking about using PlastiDip for protecting the tip of my pinpointers and extending their life. Anyone tried that? Looking for experience and views. Cheers
  13. Thanks for posting this. I'm convinced...and ordered!
  14. My 8-year-old Garrett GTI 2500 with 4 coils and the Treasure Hound box coils sold for $775 today on eBay. It's headed for Bolivia! In the meantime, my wife has slowly gotten bit by the bug, and has been chasing my son around with his new Ace 300 and "helping". We finally have a hobby that can be enthusiastically shared by all of us... so I bit the bullet and ordered another ACE 300 today to surprise gift my wife next week, using $$ from the GTI sale. (Bought from USADetectors.com, where John offers an average 10% discount on metal detectors to military, vets, and Govt employees. Great guy. Family owned small business.) So while my wife and son are chasing down primarily clad coins and zincolns in yards, I'll be deep digging with my Nox 600 and then the 800 when it finally arrives. It'll be fun having the whole family swinging. I've waited a long time to find something we can all enjoy, and it gets my son away from the gaming systems in the house for awhile!! I think I'll keep the 600 at our permanent home on the East Central Coast of Florida, and take the 800 with me wherever my wife is stationed. I go back and forth to take care of our house, and then time with my family on Air Force Bases where she is stationed. (She's a full Colonel). We will be moving to Oklahoma for two years in June. She is assuming a very senior command on Tinker Air Force Base outside of Oklahoma City. Glad to be rid of that 4.9lbs monster that was killing my arm and shoulder! Swinging the Nox feels like it's weightless in comparison. Still learning, and have been hitting beaches in the Melbourne, FL area the last few days. Not much to show, but digging everything to learn the TID's. At least enough found to pay for gas. Back with family next week and then some fun hunts for silver in old demolished family housing areas on Eglin AFB where we'll be until June.
  15. I bought this scoop which arrived today from Amazon. Very robust welds and can be used as a hand scoop or as a foot digger. 1/4" hex holes. $85. Bought a 46" shovel handle at HD for $12, trimmed it down a bit to fit, and installed. Going to test it in an hour on a beach. It will save my back and knees!
  16. I have one that I use on the beach in dry, loose sand. I only use it in fields and dirt AFTER cutting a proper plug that requires a sharp metal digger. Plastic just won't cut a replaceable plug very well. Cheers
  17. Audibly illuminating demonstration! Thanks for finding and posting this. I find it interesting that with the very slight difference in pricing between APTX and APTX LL products that anyone still buys APTX non-LL anymore.
  18. Looking for a Pro-Find 35 in stock...along with a lot of other people! Dealers monitoring this forum could help if you'd post when you have stock! Cheers!
  19. When my 600 arrived, it took 2.5 hours to get to steady green on a 2.1amp charger.
  20. I also paid for my 800 and most of my 600 today as well! Only, I did it without a detector... Last month I bought a high-end German Neumann microphone at an estate sale for $50. (Seller had NO idea...) I sold it on eBay this morning to a guy in France for $1250! So with my Minelab military discount, the 800 cost me $764.15 and the 600 was $551.65. Total price for both detectors - $1315.80. Minus the $50 paid for the microphone, the two detectors together have now cost me a grand total of $115.80!! Now, if only my 800 would ship soon...sigh.
  21. I have learned when that happens, to move the coil away from the target and double-click the pinpoint button. (off then on), it almost always comes back strong!
  22. While I didn't have much luck at the beach yesterday, it was my first beach outing with the 600 and I learned quite a bit. Totally amazed at the depth at which this detector will find the very smallest bits. I dug 12" in the sand yesterday to find a very small sliver of aluminum... smaller than my little fingernail. Wow! Wasn't what I was hoping for, but very impressed nonetheless. These Equinox's rock!
  23. You're right. Was using some Koss phones. Not an issue though in another couple of weeks. I just ordered the Mpow New EQ+APP Bluetooth 4.2 Wireless Headphones With Mic CSR 8670 APTX Low Latency Headset for just under $53.00 on AliExpress, shipped. Some on here have been saying they're even better than the ML-80's coming with my 800, but I'll use the Mpow's on the 600 as well for wireless. In the meantime, I'll go back to the uncomfortable phones that came with the 600 which are On-Ear, not Over-Ear, and with my big head, they ride high on my ears. (Not enough extension...grrr!) https://www.aliexpress.com/item/Mpow-New-EQ-APP-Bluetooth-4-2-Wireless-Headphones-With-Mic-APTX-Low-Latency-Headset-Earphone/32848651952.html Amazon Link
  24. I am no longer tempted! Went through AliExpress' order process.(Ugh), and it's now awaiting shipment! Be advised, there were only nine left at that price when I ordered. Don't delay if you're going to get it!
