  1. Try hitting some of those mixed signals if there has been a lot of other detecting. Been finding a coin here and there in the signals mixed in with iron as the majority of people just think it's iron only or they try to cherry pick the easy stuff. That medallion is pretty cool, congrats. I usually like the odd historic stuff more than just an old coins.
  2. Odd to be a figure, head seems bit large for a kids toy. Maybe part of a statue of some sorts. Was found in same plot of land where I found the flying eagles, 2 cent's, trime, half dime and few seated quarter and dimes. Most of the finds there go back to mid 1800's. Usually a statue or figurine I would expect it to be bronze.
  3. Thanks for the info on the Rosette. Still puzzled on the head. It was done with lost wax and is hollow inside. wonder if it was some sort of ornament on front of a vehicle?
  4. Found this what looks like pewter head with a gargoyle on top and a strange old buckle with a glass front. Think the buckle used to have a photo or painting behind the glass. Other is an obliterated IH penny but was a good find for the day as it was 10" down mixed in iron near some recent digholes someone missed. Pays to be patient when working these beat up grounds.
  5. Might want to change the title of the topic Breaking the law... when you post your face in post hehe. I finding 2 tone and deep mode great for relic hunting. Basically sorting small iron from non ferrous and go by size of the target. Other day I tried to hit another old school built in the 30's that used to have an old farmhouse on the property. Evidently the house must have burned down because nearby was nothing but charcoal. The Kruzer struggled through that as all of it ran hot. Have to figure out how to work around that, not sure if anyone has tips on that.
  6. Glad the 11" is working well. If you had emi issues with the 11" then the 13 or 15 would slaughter you. Did you try frequency shift? I nudged my 14khz down a couple clicks so it doesn't blast my ears when I use my pinpointer. How does iron mask on that coil? So far I picked up a couple finds that my other machines would have missed or been very difficult to find with the iron in the same hole. For numbers the concentric will show different vdi especially on flat iron like b-caps. Surprised the 11 is that much different than the stock dd. I would think they would be the same. Regardless I don't really look at the vdi that often and go by the audio. Using mostly 2 tone mode with iron audio on n2 so iron doesn't cut out on the fringe. Very different than the way I run my Garrett and Tesoro where I use the fringe tone break. As an example if I break on a square nail iron disc 32-33 I rarely hear but a crackle in most my hunts and if there is another higher conductor nearby like a silver or copper etc. the crackle will be a recognizable signal even if the vdi says otherwise. Getting a hint of something else I can then approach the target at different angles and see if its worth bending over for. I am finding this to be a bit trickier on the Kruzer probably because I am not used to it yet. So anyways the n2 iron is worth a try. Nice finds!
  7. Welcome to the forums! Stay safe.
  8. One of the big reasons I snagged a Kruzer was all the coil options. I can't see having just one coil for a machine especially with all terrain machines as it really limits your hunting capabilities. Just one coil, might as well hard wire it.
  9. Having a connector is promising so maybe there is an opportunity for the 3rd party coil manufacturers jump on this.
  10. Looking at the pics of the Simplex the connector looks the same as the Kruzer and Amphibio. Has anyone tried to just plug in one of those coils in assuming the pinout is the same? Would that hurt anything if the pins were the same? Maybe the Nokta people can chime in on this. I have a buddy that is looking at this machine.
  11. Is the coil hard wired or have a connector? If it has a connector then I would assume that at some point more coils may come out or it might be possible to use a coil from one the other models. They could be just prioritizing production and working on the new unit, just a wild guess.
  12. Here in the NE USA the AT series do very well as our soil is pretty mild. Just today some random person stopped by as they saw me out detecting with my Kruzer and he joined in with his AT Pro. On my way home I saw someone else in a field I had picked apart and they had an AT Pro or Max. Any good modernization of that series should keep Garrett in the game. For most detectorists the AT is very easy to learn and pretty powerful with very good audio. I have the Multi Kruzer and that machine I can see being incredibly difficult for the more casual user. Audio wise I think the Pro is much smoother than the Simplex and if the Vanquish was water proof Minelabs could have been ahead of the curve on the click n go market. Time will tell when it's out.
  13. Welcome to the forums, plenty of good brains to pick here.
  14. Looks like the house was gone by 1953 but I think it was there in 1938. Should be in the center of these captures. My guess it might have been a good drinking spot after the house was taken down. I find a lot of burnt wood and ash so have a hunch the house had burned down.
  15. There is a mound with bottles on other side of the foundation but I have my doubts it is complete. I might start digging those up and have a looksee. Fantastic research, had me stumped.
  16. Back poking around the old cellar hole and finding few bits but no coins this run. Nice old iron ornamental piece but too bad part is missing, small toy car wheel maybe from a tin toy, old tinned metal plate with 700 and a tin top to a bottle with some cork still inside. Has J.W. S Ltd on bottom and some other lettering. Perhaps from a med bottle or something. Of course looking anything up on the internet these days is far more work than digging through brush and rocks. This run I took the AT Pro I got back from repairs and testing out the 9x12 concentric. Machine runs very quiet even over iron. New firmware in it the VDI is pretty solid and goes right to the audio drop off. Still not a super deep machine but runs very smooth. Old firmware my machine ran pretty hot this one seems much tamer.
  17. That much clad you may want to go over it again and start looking for jewelry, bet there are some rings etc there. That is a really good run for short time of coin shooting. Congrats.
  18. Remember that the Chinese built much of our railways. Others here on the forum have found old Chinese coins here in the states that are probably same period.
  19. Ya if still in use the prospect mode might do well for the small stuff. I have 2 coils for my Tejon, 8x9 concentric and 10x12 widescan. The widscan is good in open fields some woods hunting but it struggles with steel caps and can mask out in heavy iron areas ie foundations. The concentric rules the parks around here and does well on ear rings, reg rings and general coin shooting. Steel caps on that fall below the foil mark so I can just ignore them but that is the Tejon that is similar in freq as the Lobo. Concentric will put caps low on the Vaquero but I don't know where that break is. If caps aren't an issue there then the 5x10 might be really good on the small stuff. Always thought of strategically placing trampolines around to seed the areas I like to hunt. Not sure how the parks dept would feel about that.
  20. If it's an old court then chances of tiny studs might not have been in fashion at the time it was used. Possible for a ring or bracelet. Also if it is anything like the soccer field near me that had 4 baseball diamonds on it they had scraped it down about 6" or more then put loam and sod on top. Anything tiny is probably in that heap of sand I need to check out. There is another park I hit a lot and at the turn of the century they had moved baseball field #1 across away from the stadium. I had found indian head pennies and buffalo nickels where the field originally was but they were pretty deep close to the 12" mark. Wild guess if anything left that is old is the deep stuff.
  21. Ever take your Vaquero out there for kicks? Set the disc up enough to scratch out the iron and if your running into too much can slag start nudging that out. Beaver tails are a good break point if your looking for smaller gold. Biggest thing is crowd avoidance these days.
  22. Crud started to come off with mild ammonia and water and was able to scrape some if off with my finger but will probably just leave it alone.
  23. The whole park that sparse on finds? Usually if people are cherry picking here I end up with loads of nickels and sometimes zinc pennies. There has to be more there I'm sure. Keep looking.
  24. You should be able to make silicone molds of those parts and cast them in polyurethane to make multiples if you plan on selling them. I took a 2 1/2 gallon pressure paint pot and converted for pressure casting to take bubbles out of the resin. https://www.harborfreight.com/2-1-2-half-gallon-pressure-paint-tank-66839.html?_br_psugg_q=pressure+paint+tank You simply need to take the feed tube out and cap it off. 60 psi is plenty. I also made a rubber gasket for the same pot with silicone and some 3/8 acrylic. Put an air nozzle on it and attached my vacuum pump to it for degassing some materials that need it. Looks like your parts should just fit inside. Resins and silicone you can get from Smooth-On or Alumilite. Smooth-On has the Task series that is probably the ones you want. Nice project and design!
  25. I think your right on the maker. It is a Massachusetts Volunteer Militia button from the civil war. That same maker made another button I had found but that was brass. I thought they all were brass, guess a bit of shiny gets more recruits 😁
