1515Art
Klunker cheers, gambai, a toast to inebriation, booze and free detectors... yes of course if you want to insert a dose of reality in our fantasy of opening up old patches with new and improved technology, well yes then what you say is true enough and I would never think of casting a shadow of doubt on your wisdom I frame it instead in my book of prospecting, ?. this is not an unfamiliar path, “deja vu all over again,” to quote, Pre order on the 7000 with no regrets with one exception I missed the first two years from lack of experience, the GPZ changed the landscape a lot a first if you had a clue what you were doing and where to look, I didn’t. Things have changed 6 years of persistence my techniques improved and I’ve banked a list of places to hunt. I don’t think It’s the same thing the same way expecting different results, a preponderance of the evidence says guilty as charged GPX6000 caught red handed signaling targets and finding tiny gold missed by the GPZ, sentencing to include several years banging around in the back of my Jeep and having your skid plate molested on rocks constantly. So I guess for me the performance of the 2300 was interesting and I’d rather see it showing it’s stuff maxed out most all the time mine ran OK at max, I’d have preferred to see the 7000 set the same way to that’s how I’m running it and the difference between them what I’m after whatever the conditions. Take that with all the other real world shots of the 6000 in action and a pretty clear picture begins to develop and that picture looks like a pile of little gold nuggets that we’ve been walking over, at least that’s what the gambles about, lol. don’t forget, lightweight... no ornaments and fits easily in a backpack And the bottle is on me bartender one for the house. 3 Link to comment https://www.detectorprospector.com/topic/15914-sdc-vs-7000-vs-6000/page/2/#findComment-163762 Share on other sites

Gold Catcher
The SDC will always remain a key member of my fleet. Not only because I hike a lot and it folds completely in my backpack, but also because it's superb performance in difficult mineralized terrain, such as small washes close to bedrock. The small 8 inch coil also will get to places where the 11 inch won't fit. 3 inch is a significant size difference. Just like the 7000 has it's terrain where it will dominate, so has the SDC. The 6000 is somewhere in between and rather is a 7000 light than a SDC successor, from all that has been reported thus far. Regarding gain, I hardly ever run the SDC beyond 3. The threshold gets so unstable that I will not hear faint targets anymore and I miss gold. Tested this many times with small nuggets in depths >= 3 inch. Gain 2 or maybe 3, combined with headphones and SP01, that is where the SDC performs at it's best IMHO. 4 Link to comment https://www.detectorprospector.com/topic/15914-sdc-vs-7000-vs-6000/page/2/#findComment-163771 Share on other sites
goldenoldie
Have visited that Test Site in the video. Also the other one next to it and both sites have their targets made from LEAD. The other Test Site has the below sized LEAD, shaped like nuggets, and buried at these depths. 0.2 gram at 4” or 100mm 0.5 gram at 8” or 200mm 3 gram at 12” or 300mm 10 gram at 16” or 400mm 15.1 gram at 20” or 500mm 1 oz at 24” or 600mm 3 oz at 32” or 800mm These targets at these depths would sort out which detector is best overall. Unfortunately EMI can play havoc at times at both Test Sites. So far only one detector managed to get all of the above LEAD targets with a GPZ7000 while using its standard 14" DOD coil. 3 1 Link to comment https://www.detectorprospector.com/topic/15914-sdc-vs-7000-vs-6000/page/2/#findComment-163780 Share on other sites
Redz
A test where all 3 detectors get all the targets, except perhaps one, just leaves you with the different sounds they make. I would have liked to see targets half the weight at those depths Link to comment https://www.detectorprospector.com/topic/15914-sdc-vs-7000-vs-6000/page/2/#findComment-163909 Share on other sites
