Agreed,  Is that a a watch winder in the bottom right?

Yes it is. I called it a watch key, it was the only thing I found in the grassy field near the house. That field has been hit hard by detectorists before, I'm surprised I dug anything there. I don't think the others considered the field we are finding everything in, and they definitely missed the other house site although I have not found any silver coins in that spot. Could have been cherry picked.

Heh, I think I'd gain the interest of the local historical society and various other entities if I was waving something like that around... I think I'll stick to top trolling for the time being. I'm more inclined to go Deus 2, for a geezer like myself that is the next step in avoiding joint issues. 😁

I'm also contemplating adding an older detector like a Tesoro with a concentric. Kinda like how I've found tube amplifiers to be superior to my ears than solid state. 😀

I love my nox, but the new deus is such a joy to swing.  Has Chase let you take a test run with his deus2 yet?Congrats on all the finds!   I’m envious of your site.  Lol

I've found all you have to do is ask, and the worst they will say is no. 😀 So far I haven't heard no, but I'm picking places and people carefully. Caught the owner of this farm out raking leaves one day, complimented his house and landscaping which are exceptional. Shame others were there before me but we've done pretty good. I only live about 5 minutes away from this farm.

Chase is carefully evaluating the D2, I let him do his thing when he visits, I'm not in any hurry to get one, but reading up on it and now watching it used live. I'm impressed, but you get what you pay for. Gotta say I think I would have found the same stuff if I waved my coil over it. I did check its weight, yeah that will be nice.

I have hundreds of hours invested in the Equinox, and am pretty confident with my settings and ability to change them when the environment changes thanks to Chase and the advice of many others in this forum. The 10x5 makes it a very capable and light machine. The Equinox runs hot and might be temperamental but in the right hands it will perform well. No need to learn a whole new detector (yet) 🙂

I'm more concerned about wiping this great place out! 🤣

Big thank you to Bob for letting me trespass on his permissions and break in the Deus 2.  These are mixed period sites with some thick iron patches and the D2 did not dissapoint in squeezing out the non-ferrous bits from the iron.  We always walk away with something interesting.  Last time it was a silver spoon handle with a maker's mark and engraved script that dated to the 1840's and some nice old flat and dandy buttons, a thimble, and other brass.

This last time out we revisited the site of my first Spanish Cob recovery.  Though my silver streak was broken, I couldn't complain as I walked away with a nice 19th century horse bridle rosette (the large sombrero hat looking brass piece) a couple of small Colonial brass buttons, an 1864 IHP, '29 Wheatie, and many other misc brass and lead fragments and couple large crumpled copper mystery items and a padlock. (Didn't show the shotgun shells, can slaw/foil, and big iron recoveries).

Great times as always and good coffee to fuel the adventure and ride home.  Looking forward to my next Northern Neck digging adventure with my good buddy Bob and his detecting paradise.20220306_135255.thumb.jpg.1eb317352e58ea89c505a6c10f33988b.jpg20220306_135306.thumb.jpg.cbcfe54916895658c42ed4adc3763745.jpg20220306_135332.thumb.jpg.6717404d6d54a992566d62d431d771d2.jpg20220305_124332.thumb.jpg.df5160280c396760c433e43334b8f0c9.jpg20220305_150656.thumb.jpg.60ec1db892a9842d2a6f3f88f780fc5c.jpg20220305_114141.thumb.jpg.5c7d5b1407aa6dbde8bf4228c1a74508.jpg20220219_115447.thumb.jpg.61685e9404fd3e437180ad028af32ef7.jpg20220219_114810.thumb.jpg.0c3fafb772afae06765a2ea8db8e045a.jpg20220213_133124.thumb.jpg.9584be9eb26638f6e0da4be436ae1c30.jpg
