Quick Water Hunt With The Coiltek 10x5 On My Eq 800

Recommended Posts

No great finds but picked out some clad that all were 6" to 9" or so deep.  Never really hit a good nickel signal, focused more on covering big area for silver and coins.  Pinpoint was strange at times, faint and little or no screen action.  Maybe this happened on deeper coins.   Pinpoint is not really needed with this coil wading in sandy bottom.  Had some trash, 3 full ringpull tabs, 2 just ring end, 3 older big square tabs, 2 beer bottle caps and 2 aluminum fire nuggets.  I like this coil!   Clad quarters seemed to read high and some iron tones almost buzzed.   Didn't notice much in weight difference or swing ease in the water, maybe  i was going faster!

Nice hunt sorry you couldn't pull out a ring or two, but all in all I hope you had fun.

Good luck on your next hunt.

If i put the time in a ring or two pops up here.  August is low water and i do better.  The Coiltek coil cover is loose so i used electrical tape, works.  Thinking of putting a bead of liquid tape around inside edge of the cover and let it dry.  Anyone ever ask Coiltek if you can get a well fitting replacement?

Usually can find earrings and small stuff but the id's should be really low in the foil range. That coil should hit them good.

Wouldn't hurt to remove the cover for water hunting.
