Yea The X-Terra took everyone by surprise, many here even thought it had to be a Chinese knock off as it just didn't seem realistic. And here we are ? I can buy one today. It did serious damage to the new Simplex rehashes before they even got a chance on the market. Other than the slight frequency change to move off the problematic frequency (especially with pin pointers) they were a bit of a First Texas move anyway. JCR
From what I have seen on the new Simplex Ultra, it has significantly faster signal processing & power than the current Simplex+. This is in addition to all the extra features and hardware upgrade, If Nokta choses to introduce it as a SSF machine, the modification of the coil may be the bigger delay. Who knows. They could introduce the Base model as a Single frequency unit and offer SSF on the midline & Ultra or just the Ultra. It is all just a guess on my part thinking I have a feel for Nokta's marketing savvy. They aren't about to let Minelab out wit them so easily. phrunt
Likely too late in the cycle to adjust the production run, what they can adjust and I expect they will is the pricing. 1 Link to comment https://www.detectorprospector.com/topic/21964-new-simplex-models-coming/page/4/#findComment-242007 Share on other sites
JCR
Maybe so, but they will answer the Xterra Pro in some form. Link to comment https://www.detectorprospector.com/topic/21964-new-simplex-models-coming/page/4/#findComment-242008 Share on other sites

I guess the X-terra will still win on weight and beach performance but other than that... DSMITH
here is the video where Dilek states the Simplex Ultra will not be a selectable single frequency detector if you do not wish to watch the whole video go to 23.54 in the video 1 Link to comment https://www.detectorprospector.com/topic/21964-new-simplex-models-coming/page/4/#findComment-242011 Share on other sites

Keeping the Simplex tuned and optimized for 15 kHz versus taking the selectable single frequency guts from an Equinox and putting it into the Equinox style housing has its advantages. I am seeing the same target ID instability and up averaging that I and others see on the Equinox selectable single frequencies and unfortunately even on the Manticore and Equinox 700/900 in Multi. I still really can't stomach the audio tones on the Simplex and Simplex Ultra. That would have been the first thing to go if I had redesigned it. VCO is fine but PWM strangled duck squawking drives me mad. 2 2 Link to comment https://www.detectorprospector.com/topic/21964-new-simplex-models-coming/page/4/#findComment-242016 Share on other sites
