dewcon4414
Winter tides have the greater tide shift..... low to high. Those really low tides sometimes create the greater movement........ when the waves come in the lower the tide the greater the affect just because it hits those rises or small sand bars. High tides are normally smoother....... but yes the wind and direction of the waves can really change just how high of a tide you get. Also...... some tide charts are based on the tide buoy......... which can make the low tide an hours difference. Hunting a couple of hours before low tide allows you to see where the lower areas are ..... and the FLIP-UP/gray sand where stuff accumulates. I always start out running E. to W. griding then take a look at where ive dug targets which can give you a target line...... then ill run that line down and back. Pushed up rings...... maybe flat..... or on angle where the most surface would be running N. to S. as they fall in low areas. Try running a ring on edge both ways and you will see what i mean...... surface/size matters.
