  1. Heres a Lobo St Video I did a few years back maybe it will be of some help ? Good luck Keith
  2. Very Nice Heel plate for sure... See how small it is...Womans shoe.... Now I dont know for sure but I have read that women of the night would wear those on there shoes so when they walked down the old unpaved streets they left a calling card of sorts behind .. It would date 1860s..not past about 1870s I wouldn't think..we dig them pon Civil ware period sites here only.. Keith
  3. The FG+ and The FR and are very Similar.. And that was one of the things during testing that we were concerned about.. its a FG+ and at first did not have a lot of Identity ...BUT after some tweaks..I honestly feel the FR can stand alone as a unit with its own Identity..A relic identity..and believe me it is hard to outdo the FG+ in my eyes..But Alper worked off the challenge...Yes he more or less was Challenged in an email to Keep the whole FG+ DNA but push it harder...and low and behold He did it.. What I see from my Proto is More power across the Board conductivity wise over the FG+ ..((There's a reason it's hotter on High conductors than a FG+ but that's another story)).. We also have the Variable tone Break and it does offer better unmasking.. And I want to say something and I hate to mention it because I wanted to see other's maybe notice it but I think maybe it should be mentioned...the actual Iron Volume is more than just Volume.. its also a Audio processor of sorts especially below 3 it clips and compresses and turns the iron tone into a Tick.and I dare say it unmask better..the Non ferrous tone is still full gusto but the iron tone is Tick sounding..I love it...Couple with a small coil and compare side by side with anything on the market and I think you'll be pleasantly surprised using low iron volume and exact tone break ... I truly feel Alper is the magic behind the units we are appreciating as of late....he's doing things inside the programming that truly is noticeable....not just moving settings around like on a DEUS like more reactivity and such but actual Parameters throughout the unit is adjusted for the outcome to be More unmasking...He knows when he changes something here he has to go change something somewhere else..Hes a 3 year employee and I feel if he stays with detector design we may see a true revolution taking place.. There's nothing wrong with the FG+ especially for the Gold Guys/Relic hunters BUT as Much as I love the FG+ I REQUIRE a FR as of now.. I see enough Deep inside the programming to make me REQUIRE it for my needs.. Good astute questioning Steve! Keith
  4. I am Very Excited as well about the MX Sport.. MXT being my all time favorite Whites unit..And I might add never had a Failure with one since release.. I cant say that about too many units Ive owned.. I too would like to know how the tone break works in Relic Mode especially...I like the MXT's ability to break on a nail by user defined setting.. I hope its not segmented.. BUT I may ADD... As of late the things I have needed in a detector such as 19+Khz Freq and precise variable tone break have came from a few machines that dont allow that and also the machine were on a lower than 19Khz freq. Those being the CoRe and Racer...14 and 15Khz units with factory set tone break for iron. Another being the MX5 from whites....14Khz unit and factory set tone break. Those units as example I could not set the tone break any better on my own...Yet their break is well above the nail setting..YET they unmask unbelievably well in iron for seeing non ferrous targtes intermingled with Ferrous targets.....Plus the Core and Racer are of such high gain they are as or more sensitive than a 19Khz unit. The MX5 was not of high gain ...or should I say Hyper gain feel. I hope the MX Sports DNA is of the Hyper feel of the MXT in relic mode. So while I would like a user defined tone break...if its indeed using the MX5 Disc DNA ..We may very well have us another turn on and go iron site unlocker .. Thast seems to be the Beauty of the latest offerings...WORLD CLASS performance in iron infested sites with no more than switching on and Ground grabbing... It I feel through PURE processing power...Bleedy filters blendy audios and such coupled with extremely fast algorithm's that a analog unit can not accomplish or for that fact a unit of a few years old cant accomplish... Never thought I would see the day when I could basically turn on a unit and just hunt without tweaking my settings for the first few minutes to get dialed into a site... I could feel it in the MX5 yet all the goodies were not in place..almost like a feeler unit to get on the market to try some ideas.. I have a Gut feeling the MX Sport will not let us down..Will not disappoint.. I hope its a True Whites in longevity also like the units it follows Rugged,Reliable,Dependable. Exciting Times!! Keith
  5. Saw this Today Steve from Minelab thought Yall might like to look at it here http://www.minelab.com/usa/accessories-1/pro-alloy I saw one Today at a dealer..nice piece of equipment..Sort of pricey.. Keith
  6. Steve me being a relic Hunter Ive been enamored with the DEUS from day one... and yes they are going places.. If Alain puts his mind to it as Im sure he has you may Just see one heck of a Gold prospector..I hope you do anyways!! And I love a good Gold prospector with a disc circuit for my relic endeavors.. Heck we may both be happy next year about this time!! Keith
  7. Sounds Good Steve.. A few thoughts from about 20 hours now.. On the Fors Gold plus the one of the most exciting things that will really grab your attention is just how deep it is in less than 60 Magnetic dirt that will allow you to run the Boost mode... I mean this Mode really Really Lights up the dirt.. 19Khz hyper gain is already super sensitive and hits on small items .. But as you Know like say on a Gold Bug or F19 or G2 and such it can seem lifeless at times on depth in term of its just seems too Quiet ... But at the same time you can run say a Lower freq unit acoss the same ground and hear the deep iron and such... well take the Fors Gold Plus and run it across the ground in Boost and the ground will just come alive... Now it will take a tuned ear to get the most out of the EXTREME Light up you will experience but once you get it down its a relic hunters delight...Alot of my sites are plowed in and surfaced hunted to death with no new plowing for the last 40 years.. this Boost mode lights up a different conductance layer that we have never been used to.. especially in soil thast less than 60 percent magnetic mineral.. Experienced relic hunters and Gold prospectors are going to love the Excitability of the unit..it wont be for everyone but its the kind of thing if you stick wiht it you will see results..its very much a Feedback system in the truest sense ...If you've ran the DEEEEP seekers of old you will love this new twist on a Higher freq...dont exptect it to jump on larger items at depth.. but the old units already did that anyways... What it will do is jump on the smaller Items at depth... really a great intelligent Noise feedback unit to hunt with and will have you chasing targets you would never know was there Good and bad.. that may sound negative but far from it.. it's the type unit thats lights up a site Knowing how to put it to use will be the trick.. A seasoned detectorist will see the benefit of this in a worked out camp..That's the best way to describe what you'll encounter.. some will not like the boost some will be in AWE! Now fast Mode is just that FAST.. and its very very sleuthy...No need to worry it will Unlock targets... Keith More to come
  8. Awesome Piece of Gold...Congrats!! I like the size scale piece Too!! Keith
  9. Ive heard it twice now that C-Scope was trying to buy Tesoro..Not sure if its true....But I've heard it.. Keith
  10. Hey Steve looking good....another box source is walmart tackle section..they have waterproof Plano boxes in alot sizes in that range... Keith
  11. Zero Voltage Transmission.... Looks like there able to eliminate any residual signal in the switching from transmit to receive maybe? if they can do that it should punch deeper and see smaller... Keith
  12. Good write Up... If I may add in that type dirt.....try the reactivity on 3...the stock Gold program uses 2...and thats fine for moderate dirt...but to get some real performance on small targets like Gold the reactivity will peek better in the ground...if the ground is really harsh 4/5 can be used... It will smooth out that ground noise and weird response and actually give you better I.D.'s not at depth but usable depth... Keith
  13. Yes the MXT is a Very good machine to this day... I would of liked to have seen the MXT have the ability to manual set the ground bal.... I last week used a MX5 which is lighter and built off the MXT but in my opinion its not a MXT by a long shot... but maybe a sign of things to come for White's in terms of a lighter machine....dotn get me wrong gthe MX5 is powerful but lacks adjustability...if the do a MXT repackage in the MX5 style box I hope they offer more than the current MXT offers in adjsutability..believe it or not the MX5 swings nicely and is built very rugged.. I could see a high end full control MXT in it ... Keith
  14. Thats one thing I like about the newer machine's with tone break option.. I like to hear it all even in disc mode.. and those tone signals can speak volumes if we listen.. I like to hear a faint tight low tone...I know theres a chance its a good target at depth reading iron...that otherwise would go unoticed in a disc mode.. but yes being a relic hunter first and formost Steve I can attest to all the good targets that are called iron.. Keith
  15. Glad your answered with your observations Steve. I cant never get anyone to talk about it... What i notice happens on the G2/GB/Omega is when ground balancing if you get real low like in the Salt range or get real high you will notice some differences in disc mode.. But for say 10-90 range it does not seem to effect the disc mode.. but theres a Ground bal pot inside the machine that is facotry set and if you move that one you will see it effect the disc mode inside that 10-90 range...get it to low and it will fasle like crazy on the soil as it should.. I think maybe for proper I.D. to work they use the preset but when the preset wont cover it by the ground bal manual or grab setting it uses that new setting.. I know what you mean about running the GB to 999 and the threshold comes in..and lower it and it wil go away in disc mode..... Ive seen this on a few machine's..I think the freq of the machine is adjusted as you move the ground bal.... I know on machine's that have freq Adjust I can ground bal crudely with it like say a classic 3 or a 1236.. So ground bal effects freq somewhat and vice versa in certain designs anyway.. Glad you posted this Steve i have noticed the same thing yet in the middle ranges the machine seems to use a preset... I wonder if the internal preset is like a starting point for the manual ground bal... They may work in unison... Remember the first GB's that came out and I found they would not hit big silver and reported it to Mike Scott.. They had a recall on them...I was told they had to reset the internal pot to accept the big silver...But at the sime time it seemed it was still weak on big silver...they said the technicians at the asembley line had preset the internal pot to the Omega specs not knowing it required a change.. Those were the 2.9 machines...after that a software tweak was done to help on the high conductors and low conductor's it so seems now.. My 4.0 is very strong on high conductors for freq... the 2.9 even after alignment, it was still weak on silver.. but the 4.0 will hear a silver dollar very well at great distance form the coil.. Keith
  16. Im reading on a italian website that the F19 will be using 4AA's instead of the 9volt... if it does that would be great..the T2 uses 4 AA's and last forever... anyone comfirm this? Keith
  17. Thos High freqs at times in disc mode may not let you know of interference.. Silence does not mean problems do not exist though... one thing I like to do on a HF rig is to flip into all metal and see if im getting any sort of motor boating taking place,,All metal usually dont lie on interference... If either or both of you are causing some all metal warble pull apart and see when it stops... just a thought.. Keith
  18. Very nice gold ...Congrat's... I like the musket ball by the way!! Keith
  19. Yes the Lobo St can be modified... I have video of it being power balanced...and it does gain depth in disc mode... you could move the pot to the outside ...But remeber the disc mode has no threshold so you will have to ground bal the machine bobbing and listenig for ground noise in the disc circuit....and also the disc setting will change as you ground bal...So say a nail is rejected at 2.5 but you change the ground bal....dont forget to reset the disc...it may take 3 to disc a nail or you maye be to positve on the the disc at 2.5 and inadvertanlty mask an item.. Use caution if you do an extrenal mod...I would not do it...its already set to ferrite...so that would be like about 90 if you have a numeric scale...You can turn it back some inside iof you have bad dirt and gain depth but mark it first..a setting of 80 might be as low as you could go again if you had a scale to go by...A neagtive gorun bal works better wiht a DD coil noise wise... That's the reason tesoro is so weird about not having ground bal on the disc side of the Cortes...it will skew the I.D. for some reason they have not spent time developing a circuit that will update I.D as the gorund bal changes...
  20. Hey Steve... On the ATX...I almost sold mine...but somthing kept telling me its too good a machine to let go...You can just tell when you run it its a modern 21st century P.I.. I have some weight issues with it I have not yet worked out but again its cutting edge in my opinion.. just gotta figure out a way to get the weight down... I actually love that garrett has gave us 3 fine detectors in the last couple of year's... and to think I had them dismissed a few years back as not going no where,,,LOL!! Maybe tesoro can surprise us next????? Keith
  21. I really enjoy the 705 on the 18.75khz freq.... Its a very good machine in iron ..I favor the 5x10 myself..its the tightest coil... two tone all metal will be the order of the day for serious unmasking...listen to the tone when the iron gets tight...don't watch the meter... I find the 705 with 5x10 likes weird shapes more than some others..By this I mean relic shapes not coins...oh it likes coins very well..but its also can pick thin elongated itmes out of nails very well...things like say certain thin suspender clips and jewelry broach type items and small style toe taps and such... It also has excellent see thrugh with that coil through the types of Rocks and Bricks that will litter an old house site... Now this may go against what you have learned about ground tracking...but if you leave the ground tracking on in a lot of iron especially the bigger type iron the 705 will tame the falsing down quite a bit... Now if I'm in the woods and hunting for depth I do not track but in the harsh iron if tracking is left on you will dig far less iron... That leads to another topic...the 705 with the 10.5 " DD on 7.5khz is a very deep setup for higher conductor's like bullets and one piece buttons and coins...and big brass...it will really get down in the dirt...One thing of note if you use that coil and try some deep hunting is that when in 2 tone all metal or any other tone mode for that fact the machine will choose the tone break points for you...and what you will notice is if say a target is on the fringe depth you will need to watch the targets that read iron and show up around -2...the deepies will end up reading right in there... the greatest depth to be obtained with the machine is the Prospecting mode...I have dug bullet's of .58 caliber in that mode right at 13-14 inches...and that mode is super stable...but will take a while to learn and is best used in open sparse target area's for a beginner...What's unique about that mode is once the target is close enough if its iron it will null..so say a 12 inch target hits and once you get close enough to it digging wise if its a nail it will silence your threshold (NULL) but if its good it will still waiver your threshold just more intensely...the iron rejection is called mask and is adjustable...I like to use 5 for a nail...it goes up higher for bigger iron but that's aggressive in my opinion... Never bare more disc on a site than is needed for a more productive hunt when looking for relics especially...so in that case just try to disc or tone I.D. nails... It will work for depth and unmasking... It a area chock full of iron debris and nails targets intermingled with the nail's and such can pull down in conductance to right at nail's and even lower at times...so say if you set a disc on foil reject and hunt a site thinking you got it all then the next guy comes in at barely nail reject and finds a seated coin or gold coin you missed because of target averaging of the target's would be awful!!...Scary is it not? also for depth the less Disc/Filter you use especially in mineral dirt the less depth or improper I.D you will have..a good target in bad dirt can read a nail or lower at times so keep that it mind... use discrimination wisely! All info gathered from in field hunt's in my dirt....What works for me may not work for you and vice versa... Keith
  22. Good info..... Wish they would make one with an Iron buzz I.D. circuit..... Would be great to have when using a Pulse unit ... Keith
