  1. No not down to -9. Usually a splattering, -1 to -5 [because the target is already deep and nonferrous.]
  2. Yes, I hunt this way, except I use Beach 2 because Beach 1 cannot handle my Black Sand/Wet sand-salt mix. In direct wild target testing we could not get the Deus 2 to beat the Equinox in the Horseshoe mode. I have taken this one step further because of what the Horseshoe mode can do. On deep targets, if the target single rings and does not have a directional breakdown on 360 inspection it is nonferrous 95% of the time. These targets WILL have negative tid numbers, if deep enough, including gold. Likewise, any target that double rings or breaks down on a 360 inspection is ferrous, 100% of the time. This works down to the faintest signals. Signals that will not even appear in the discrimination mode. So I would not worry about "missing anything"
  3. You don't want another one. His doodad helped break my coil ear. SunRay have the best quality stiffeners by far.
  4. Not sure how you're detecting as a PI? Why would you have to dig everything? I had really nasty black sand the last few weeks. My iron ratio was almost the same 5 of 100 targets.
  5. We noticed right away when we tested the D2 that water entered the coil end. I tried to waterproof that wire before I stuck it the water and did not get a good seal. The inner wire under the top Shielding is very thin. When will it fail? Since you are a diver you might be the first to let us know. 😊
  6. Not doing anything wrong, but I would make some adjustments. > If you are in the regular Disc mode gold will NOT come in with negative numbers. >If you're in solid wet sand contact, I would run beach 2 and your Iron Bias to the regular F-6 or 5. This will allow you to run a higher sensitivity setting. > Try to always work your low tides. If you want to try something, use your horseshoe mode to listen to everything. It will go deeper than disc mode. If your target single rings solid 360, the target is nonferrous 95%, if the target double rings or breaks down on a 360 look is is ferrous. GL, HH
  7. Well the remote, is going back. I am still traveling and have not reached home where I have the required receipt copy needed. I see another person on TreasureNet had this same issue and they did a replacement. I will let everyone know how it goes.
  8. This is where horseshoe mode comes in. Listen to everything. At depth, if the target double rings or breaks down on a 360 look, it is ferrous. If the target single rings steady at a 360 look it is nonferrous. I don't care if the Equinox is posting a -5 number....it is nonferrous! 95 out of 100 targets.
  9. Really surprised you did not bag other gold in that spot. Great work!
  10. As I ALWAYS try to say......better to be pissed off than PISSED ON. 👍 I am using beach pitch here with moving water/black sand and liking it. Still not sure on the depth I am getting!
  11. I have also used it on black sand here with the Deus2 and always with the Equinox. Whenever I have done a separate ground grab it is always a point or two away from where the tracking GB was. I plan on using it all the time with water contact. While the Deus instructions are vague on tracking, Minelab is clear, and that it should be used at the beach. [good enough for me]
  12. Yes, I am a big proponent of reinstalling software if there are operating issues within the programs. However in this case, with battery drain, this is a hardware issue. The unit came to me with 0.71 installed and worked great through testing for a month. The battery drain has happened in the last two weeks. It will be going back.
  13. Yup, confirmed today again. 1/2 battery left yesterday and this morning not enough battery to even power the machine on. Will let everyone know how the replacement goes! 🙄
  14. So this morning had everything disconnected and my machine was dead as a doornail. Not even enough battery to power on the unit. Thanks to all who double checked their machines. Will let everyone know how the return and replacement goes.
  15. My hats off and I bow down to schoolofhardNox, I could never walk on a beach with a PI. The trash digging would kill me. I used to do it, but the switch flipped when I turned 57. Yesterday, I identified over 50 ferrous targets. With my soft collapsing sand right now I would be lucky to get each target out in a minute. That would of been an extra hour alone in digging yesterday. That is a beach service I can not provide! Going to have to stick with VLF and admire the brave PI souls from the sidelines! 😄
  16. I am trying to factor a few things out. It seems like my Deus is discharging at a fast rate when turned off. [like dead in 24hrs after the prior days hunt] I had a pair of bone phones plugged in. Just wondering is someone can make sure their machine is in that mode with the phones still connected and turn it off. Then see in a day is the battery has been drawn down. Thanks. Dave
  17. Wondering who has a pair of Bone Phones? Please respond, thanks.
  18. Working on it Hugh. Now I can not be 100% sure my remote is working 100% correctly with the battery drain going on.
  19. OK, thought it was me but it is not. Shut down my remote yesterday with half the power left. Just went to power it up and it is dead. So the remote is discharging when turned off. Does anyone have the contact for XP United States service? Thanks.
