  1. Not my point, I do believe you like the "sound". The Deus has an incredible array of ways to set the tonal abilities of the machine. You have Pitch audio, which is adjustable from 150to 603Hz. Next is audio in Square and PWM which is adjustable from 100 to 933Hz. This is important for customers and buyers to know. For myself, I have picked square tones and raised the Hz up to mimic the sounds of the Equinox. I will be using both machines and when doing so, I do not like them singing different music to my ears. I understand both machines will have their own language per say, but I want the tones I hear to be similar. 😎
  2. Well? There are lots of different sounds in many different modes available.
  3. OK, I agree with everything you say. I just thought you ran into something, a condition that made tracking GB perform worse. I can personally say that on the Equinox not one condition has ever made me switch out of Tracking GB, while working the beach.
  4. Terry, can you elaborate why tracking is an issue on some of your beaches? Thanks.
  5. Well, this person has a chat site. So a month ago I posed a question about his #1 detector. I am still waiting for an answer, so there is that. A serious grain of salt should be taken into account here.
  6. It took us until the 3rd day to see that the engineers at XP did not set the factory programs up to the best of the detector's ability. I think an old Calvary guy might be on the something. I will be back on my machine's next week and will be working my Deus 2 purchase. Already have a few custom programs I am going with off the start. Myself, coming from years of Minelab I have a serious question about tracking GB on a wet salt beach? When I posed this question to a Deus expert the response was, "it is personal preference" I thought that answer was hogwash. I will be looking into the GB features more.
  7. Good review, you put a lot of thought into it. XP did not have any beach hunters input either................
  8. First off, Great finds! There has to be more there. Remember, Tony's headphones have Piezos. They are not speakers. You may have to adjust the iron tone to make them sound the same as speakers.
  9. Got my very durable beach rod set for the Deus 2. This has great features. *Antenna run through the center of the shaft [Steves yoke mount has a hole in the center] . *Original coil bolts are used with washers on both sides. *Hand grip with stress washer on top. *The pod can be turned slightly from left to right depending on which hand you want to use. Added Anderson arm cuff. *Cam locking clamp. *Also, no holes in the shafts except for where the antenna comes out. I will be using the Gig's modification for attaching the antenna to the coil with adhesive and keeping water out of the antenna wire. This has already been tested by me. Both on land with and without antenna connection and in the water without any performance loss. I would like to thank Steve from Steve's rods for helping me make a great strong Deus 2 beach set-up.
  10. I agree. I also think there is no good reason XP should not have available ANY VERSION of software available to the end user. On another note. Do not be afraid to reload the newest version of software again and again and again if you think the deus is not working correctly. Make sure your connection to the internet is fast and take out all your custom programs ahead of time.
  11. Shucks, I wish all my white rings read "plat" in them..........
  12. Chinese talents??? That might be a little overreach. Most everything coming out of China is inferior.
  13. I would contact Tony and see how much to ship from Post Office. Tony can make a cable any length you want, so you can keep that 1/8 jack out of the splash zone. Also highest quality connectors.
  14. Yes, the next update will be called Deus 2. It will make the Equinox not work as well as it does.
  15. Without knowing a particular machine my bet would go for 26khz and higher. That is what most beach and gold hunters would say. However most of us at the beach do not get to use, or cannot use single freq do to salt conditions. There is a lot to be said about stability and sensitivity. That may have different freq. choices. Sounds like your testing is pretty well thought out.
  16. I'm not using the factory lower. However, one possibility is taking a little stock off the washer less side and then add a thin rubber fender washer to that end. That may solve the issue. At least you would have rubber on both sides.
  17. Could it be as simple as: The WS6 is a stand alone detector itself and one may only need that cable then? However, the WS6 and coil would need to be charged separately.
  18. There is a used Deus 2 for sale over on friendly forum. $1050 shipped. Someone is going to get a killer deal!
  19. I looked ahead of time. Of the three phones you posted I can only tell two of them: dodiddlies, and Serious. Neither of those phones have "NRR" specifications listed in advertisements, nor ambient dB rating. Here are the only production phones that accept the Ws6 that I know of, are dB rated and state so. -24dB. https://highplainsprospectors.com/products/detector-pro-gray-ghost-xp-platinum-series-wireless-headphones-for-xp-deus-xp-deus-ii?gclid=Cj0KCQjw2MWVBhCQARIsAIjbwoMtJm6_Legs5IUuFAqcKUDSQWzcj98gzliKCQBdktN2T4XO4ayW-WwaAgEIEALw_wcB I have found what I want for 25 years. I use the Original Black Widows [-28dB rated] with Audiosears [speakers] Connected directly to the detector.
