  1. I think that machine will do good in coin shooting and some beach hunting. The coil is a bit small for relic hunting but might fair ok in pine forests where targets tend to run shallow. For the new comers to the hobbie and many Ace owners it is a solid choice. I don't think it is for the seasoned enthusiest that has been spoiled by more buttons and whistles. FYI I always check my iron targets for other signals at different angles, any other beep outside of the iron range is worth investigating.
  2. Good place to pick brains and show off finds. Welcome to the forum.
  3. Ya saw a gallon jug for $99. There is a jewelry cleaner on Contenti for 19 that handles gold and silver. Not sure how it handles copper and copper alloys. May have to shoot them a note.
  4. I think I will do ok with it. Hopefully it will work in areas I struggle with my other machines.
  5. I ordered a Gold Racer. I think it will be about as good as I can get in heavy coal/coke areas near many of the older areas here with the iMask feature. I like the extended iron range so discrimination can be more precise much like the AT series has. I am also hoping the 56khz will work better around high emi areas that are difficult with my other machines. I know a PI would work better in many of the spots I hit but a dig all approach isn't possible on lawns and parks. The other thing I do like the Gold Racer over the Gold Kruzer is there is a wider choice of coils for it from CORS. Hopefully will be here next week and I can put it through it's paces.
  6. Is the first one from one of the wars? 2nd looks to have a Star of David so maybe Israel?
  7. There are inclusions in the stones. Can't tell on the diamonds though as they are pretty small. Ring might be older than I thought, hard time looking up the makers mark.
  8. Swinging that in the park with your underwear on the outside should assist in the social distancing dilema.
  9. It is a huge upgrade for Ace users and good upgrade for AT users. I think Garrett will do well with this first gen smf machine. Coil options will be key, will there be a concentric? Will 3rd party companies be allowed to make coils? I think for general hunting that machine will do well. I do have to admit the only time EMI was ever an issue on my AT Pro was with the Nel Big coil on it. I would think this machine holds to the same stability. I can't say the same for my Tesoro or Makro.
  10. Apex is pretty deep for a 6" wide coil, to be fair the should use the 6" coil on the Nox or compare to a Vanquish with coil of same width. I would have turned that iron audio way down 🙂
  11. The extended iron range interests me, something I liked about the AT Pro. Do either of you have the Gold Racer? How does it handle high iron areas? Also EMI is a big issue in areas here and thinking the 56khz would fair better due to harmonics with the transformers here. I assume I will lose quite a bit of depth when compared to the lower frequency machines but plan to use it for jewelry and coin shooting in parks.
  12. Think I was wrong on the stones, may be emeralds being so green. Was really lucky, ususlly first find is a beat up penny or trash hahah.
  13. Took the MK for a spin to a different park, spent about an hour or less. First find came in slightly above a beaver tail. 10k ring with some diamond chips and looks like amathyst.
  14. Truck bed liner paint makes for a nice grip on the wood handle. I still have a regular rake handle, I don't beat up on my diggers either. Too many rocks to work through. Stomping it will certainly damage the scoop.
  15. Does the Gold Racer use the same scale as the Gold Kruzer? I am guessing they do.
  16. Was asking on the GK, Simplex should have same numbers as the 14khz Kruzer.
  17. So sounds like the Gold Kruzer has a normalized id system? I thought it would put aluminum up higher than nickels or gold.
  18. I do like the toughness of the Kruzer shaft. Always wondered how those plastic retractable shafts would be. Always assumed they would have more flex than traditional shafts. One the big reasons I chose the MK over the Amphibio. Good demo on the shafts along side of that attack dog of yours 😲 You may like the eliptical coil on the Simplex. I find they do better in bad ground over wider coils. Sniping targets between trash is easier too. Got one question for ya... What id's do you have for us coins and common trash like square tabs and ring tabs?
  19. Been just searching images of makers marks on the net.
  20. The Multi Kruzer is a really nice machine. Tracking is easy to toss on and off, has iSat control. The Gen Mode (all metal) is really good as you can hear targets that may not even register on the VDI where they maybe masked out. 3 tone is incredible in trashy parks, recovery speed is insane.
  21. Yes it's called coke, area effected goes out about 15-20 from the building and after that is low quality soil with gb in the mid 40's-60's. The MK is really chattery in that area even at 5khz so I was running at 14khz. Tejon is quieter those conditions but probably will just get masked out. Do wish I had a TDI for that. 12" is the deepest I ever dug for a ring, ring looks to be lost in the early 1960's, I believe I tracked down the owner that maybe living in the next state over. None of his phone #'s were working so I popped a letter in the mail. Be cool if he was the owner and I can return it. Hopefully I'll hear back soon.
  22. Yes the 10x12 is a dd, not ideal coil in high trash. I did dig more ring pulls because I deliberately set my 2nd disc to just above and wanted to concentrate on the better roll tones. Ring pulls at depth are tricky becaue of their shape and being hollow. Ones at depth are harder to tell apart from good targets. I do have my ear for the square tabs though on that machine. After that run I was able to hit the old church yesterday. Turns out the church was build in the 1900's, back yard only had 4-6" top soil and much below was coal and coal ash. Oldest coin I found was a 1935 wheatie. Will be going back there soon as I only covered a small area. I ended up leaving the Tejon home due to chance of rain.
