  1. If your running the Nox in single frequency modes, how high can you go in frequency before the salt starts to effect it? Thinking low teens might give you better overall detection on silver and gold with a less of a trade off.
  2. Looks like the coin ranger doubled as a floor buffer 🙂
  3. The couple hours I ran the Gold Racer I find the id#'s more stable than the Multi Kruzer in any of it's frequencies but it is also a much shallower machine with a smaller coil. The higher requency so far seems EMI proof. I didn't realize you need a dongle for the wireless on it until I stared at the sparce simple menu and saw nothign for the audio and my Nokta green headphones just kept blinking :0 Not a big deal as I have plenty of wired headphones and for the money I can always get a z-link for a few bucks less than Nokta's setup. So far it is a blast to run, my Tejon got some competition now.
  4. Good combos for coils. Wonder how that 13" will handle the wet sand?
  5. Pink doesn't look too bad, more like the underside of a diner counter or table 🙂 I'd test the stock coils first and see what you may need once your used to the machines. Congrats on the new toys!
  6. Looks good here, noticed the change but thought it was my browser lol
  7. That thing with a loop on it seems to be a plated zipper pull. Will take me a bit to get used to the new sounds and id's but I find it really easy to tell the size of the targets with this machine. I'm finding it a smoother running machine compared to the MK. Threshold seems to be more stable on GR when compared to the MK but think that is due to EMI around here. The 56khz runs so smooth. I do wish Whites was still kicking because their 48khz might be better but that could be splitting hairs. Going to test it at an old school yard and the old church where they dumped all their coal and coke. Just maybe I might be able to squeak out some old silvers hidden in the mess.
  8. Wanted a machine that has a much higher frequency than your typical coin shooting machine for a couple of reasons. I wanted more definition on iron in the ground, bit more numbers to play with in the low conductors and something that can handle the lousy dirt we have here with iron and coal. I also wanted a machine that would do well in high emi areas so I got the Gold Racer that runs at 56khz. Though my finds aren't impressive I took it through the local park in the worst possible spots. Area is a carpet of square tabs and bottle caps. This little machine make it a breaze to pick through and be able to hear the iron in the caps right off, many were just choppy signals. The square tabs and aluminum can slaw has be tripped up a bit but think I can start to weed through those bit better as they tend to have jumpy numbers compared to the nickels I picked out. Overall the machine is very light, well balanced and just fun to use. It isn't a depth demon but may up for a larger coil, have my eyes on the CORS butterfly 12x11 if it ever makes it to the USA for this machine.
  9. Ya the only time it interfiers is with the wireless headphones. I'll try changing frequencies and see if that helps. I wonder if it's the DIF on the PP causing the issue. Buddie has a PF35 and can't come within 5ft of me with my seahunter or my sh freaks out. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- Tested with different frequencies and makes no difference. This has me stumped.
  10. It does but makes no difference. Odd part is why does the headphone connection have to do with anything between the coil and control box that is hard wired? Not knocking either devices just curious. Coil to control box at XX frequency should not efffect an audio channel on a headset ESPECIALLY if it works on one frequency, why not all?
  11. Try the lithium ion rechargables, they are exactly the same dimensions as alkaline aa's. I use them in my Tejon. Dual disc machines you need to make several passes for cherry picking but are pretty efficient as your not listening to so many targets at once. Flick for quick junk check and move on. Do get a little tricky with can slaw though but that is true with any machine.
  12. More valuable jewelry it might be worth getting it appraised. Can be a huge difference in price than scrap weight. Impressive collection.
  13. Strange how the frequency of the machine effects the headphones. I would have thought that the headphone reception would be the same regardless of the machines settings.
  14. Try going over it in all metal mode and you might be able to pick a few more out.
  15. I did some river hunting and descided to take my MK out with the waterproof wired headphones and my ProFind 35 pp for piking through the river clay as it is waterproof. Left my PI machine home because the power lines make it impossible to use in the stretch of water I was hitting. I realized that the Profind 35 does not effect the MK in any of the frequencies at all with the wired headphones. The green wireless ones go bonkers with 5 and 14khz modes with that pp and I can only use 19khz with them. Strange how the bluetooth headphones react with the profind. I always assumed the interference was with the coil or control box and not the headphones. In park hunting I had gone back to my old Whites Bullseye pointer as it plays well with all my machines regardless.
  16. Still like my Tejon, heavy trash areas the MK edges it out in recovery speed. Don't use my ATP much as the stock coil has a crack in it that I repaired.
  17. From what I gather the ProFind 35 is similar in sensitivity to the Carrot, Carrot is more stable. Not sure if the pulse dive would do any better on nuggets than a F-pulse, they may not have a quick enough pulse delay to find the super tiny as they are meant to find larger bits. Being sensitive enough to pick up a tiny nugget might make it difficult to use as a pp in most conditions? I could see it sounding off on tiny bits of rust and possibly falsing?
  18. Samples are nice but actually digging a bit of trash is a better learning experience. Stuff put in clean ground can be very different in a trashy area. Just takes a bit of practice.
  19. I do know the subtle iron is hard to pick up on if not impossible in the beach mode on my MK and thinking it is due to the ground balance adjustment. Seeing a similar issue on the Nox in beach mode makes me think we are better off using the other modes when possible. The newer caps are trickier, outside of being a little louder for their depth they are hard to tell from good targets.
  20. Can you run your iron audio when in Beach mode? Usually but not always you can hear a bit of iron off the tip of the coil on bottle caps especially the rusty ones. Might save some digging.
  21. Nice to see a ring that is hand crafted and not some run of the mill production piece that came out of some jewelry cad software. Custom pieces are always good in a collection.
  22. Quick update. I researched the school and found out it was no longer in existance but came across some yearbooks. In one of the yearbooks was a guy with the same initials that graduated in 63, the other books didn't have people with the same initials. I traced the name to 2 people that lived in the area with the same name and only 1 came back that was the right age for the person at 75 that had graduated from that school. Next I tried to contact him but the 2 phone numbers were no longer in service so I popped a quick letter in the mail and asked if he lost something in the park back in the 60-70's. He also used to coach soccer in the fields. A week later he called back and turned out he had just moved. He said he lost a class ring and had replaced it and lost that one too. He said it should have his initials inside jpd which it did. He came down this morning and was really happy I found it. Not often you get the chance to return something like that 50+ years later. Bit of back story on the park is there was a ball field where the ring was that was moved in the mid 70's. At that time they excavated all the sand from the field and back filled it. This may explain why the target 12" down where other finds of that period are usually in the 6" range.
