  1. I haven't used those, but I know and love Sennheiser headphones. You won't be disappointed with the sound quality at least!
  2. Report back what you hear. I have one set of ear buds that will only pair now and then on my 800. The rest of the time it just wont pair. My other headphones pair fine.
  3. Let us know if you notice much difference Joe. If you do I might stick a wrist strap on it to accomplish the same thing. I'm with Simon and haven't really noticed a need but my arm does get tired so maybe it is from gripping and I just dont realize.
  4. Joe, it was strange but one of the hardest things to wrap my mind around was the fact that the whole "getting all the kids raised and moved out and retiring" had just gone away. It's fine now, but at the time I really struggled to wrap my mind around it and adjust. It basically morphed into I don't have any big retirement goals now. I take my adventures where and when I can and don't have big delayed plans waiting on retirement. I still have some dreams (altered somewhat to match current reality) but mostly I assume I'll pretty much be doing what I do now. That's fine, I'm happy.
  5. Weird, worked on my phone but not my tablet. I can see why they live there. Pre-flight 10 people or so could defend against an unlimited sized army.
  6. 😥 I'm the uncool kid without a onedrive account
  7. By the way Erik, definition of terms in gold mining, because they aren't obvious. Fine gold=small gold peices, large gold peices would be "coarse gold". Free gold=gold in its elemental form, not combined with other minerals in a sulfide. You can get free gold out just by crushing the rock and panning. Sulfides require a chemical process to separate the gold.
  8. Erik, with the mention of the fine free gold in the ore you might want to pan in the creek some. If you find pin head size specks of gold fairly easily panning and no gold with multiple tries detecting it is possible the gold formed in tiny little flakes in the ore and there are no large pieces. Some places are like that. There are more areas around me with only small gold than there are areas with detectable gold. I can get gold in nearly every pan, it's just really tiny.
  9. Uh, Chase, I'm almost certain he wasn't kidding. I'm pretty sure he's gonna be buying a 44 if you dont lay down some educational content. Erik-kidding or not that was a well written entertaining post, thanks!
  10. Hopefully he is still busy digging up awesomeness in England and trip report will be coming along after he gets home. I know I'm interested!
  11. I looked it over. It goes in a direction I wasnt expecting. He/she is thinking along the lines of an automated nugget searching machine, think hunting dog that finds and points the bird for you. Honestly the questionnaire isn't great. You dont know enough yet to ask the right questions. The concept is interesting though, and you have some of the most experienced folks in the world on this forum. I think you should forget the survey for now and start a new thread laying out the basic idea and asking for input, why it would or wouldn't work, the challenges involved, the most Iikely approach, etc. If you make the topic interesting enough and the thread takes off you will get more and better info than you are imagining. It would likely need to dig and verify gold to be of much benefit, as we spend most of our time digging trash targets. I'll start you off with that tidbit. We get lots of folks that stop in and ask one question and sometimes never even return to read the answers. Show people your really interested and are sticking around and it will help.
  12. I also have the profind 35. About all I can say is it works fine. It's the only one I've owned so can't compare it to anything else.
  13. No idea, but I hope you got lucky! I'd be tempted glue metal strips to the edge of the steps just so you can see them better.
  14. I'd be surprised if there wasn't a new legit dealer in NZ by next year now that you've brought the situation to her attention. Well done all around.
  15. Any progress on the simplex situation? I want you to get one too. I get to benefit from your addiction without spending or doing anything. It's a nice situation for me.
  16. At that price I'll probably pick up a couple if I see them.
  17. I searched the US Stanley site, multitools not listed. Then I searched the New Zealand Stanley site, not listed. Might be discontinued everywhere.
  18. Dude, really?!! Not sure your allowed to wistfully wish right now.
  19. Can't you just order one from Australia? On the globe you guys kinda look like neighbors.
  20. I'm a kind of person that is pretty immune to that. I have multiples of some things because I am bad at getting around to selling stuff, not from chasing the shiny new thing. I have one good fly rod, one good big game rifle, one good bow, etc. I have a 20 yo bow the 6 yo bow replaced, but that's just laziness. Eventually I'll come across some kid needing one and give it away. With the equinox I dont have any real urge to buy anything else. I probably won't for a long time. All my cars are 15 yo+ too though. I just dont get the same thrill buying things that most people get. Not sure if that makes me lucky or unlucky. Once I have one good tool to pursue whatever hobby I'm pretty much done.
  21. Sounds like a business opportunity Simon. You can go into semi-retirement 🙂
  22. Dilek posted this in August "Yes, we will have a smaller coil available but not at launch... a little after...do not know when but it should not take too long. I believe the team is already working on a smaller DD 8.5'' round."
  23. Interesting test. It looks like high f2 could be pretty useful if the main goal is a high percentage of good targets dug.
