You're probably more likely to get your answer by posting that question in the Advice and Comparisons , MineLab or Detector /Prospecting forums. Possibly it has already been answered already. I've been here for 3 years and I still haven't read half of what is posted .

Yeah , tell us where you want to detect and what you hope to find and you'll get all the guidance for free. that $90 package Digalicious found is about as cheap as it gets and it still goes beep when you get the coil over anything metal. Including the yellow kind. 🥸 Not a very big risk there , and you might find Tony's 5th detector where his wife laid it to rest ! (hope it wasn't his newest one) 😵 The detector really is just another tool. Researching to find the best places to use it doesn't cost much if anything online or investigating local history down at the local diner. You might already know somebody that will give you permission . There's plenty to read here already to get you started and if you're near a beach , you can still get out and dig if your ground is seasonably solid like mine . Thx Doc . This isn't being funny , it's just the way I yam. But if you want , I have an impressive amount of pirate jokes to share. That was a very interesting button and sometimes condition forces us to think creatively. HatdPack's button eagle eye Is amazing🤯 even if it was from looking at it magnified. Maybe he should get a commission on any digital microscope sold as a result ? Oh , and I lived through the 60s and all the way through the 80s in the music biz . DocBach That was really all there 🥸? I thought he was making a lot extra up for fun.🙄 HardPack's description was so detailed and I was having a hard time seeing much at all in the first photo. The blow up I could make out the guy with the gun much better and it didn't look like he was on a couch anymore , more like a canoe . I did go back and looked again after I hit the laughing face like button and did see more following the description.. I was missing so much of the detail I was reading . (It sounded like a dreamscape . They sure did put a lot more work into buttons long ago.) Then next came the post with the history references and even more details ! Well , I kept thinking about it and came back to the thread to look again 🧐 today. It seems like Mr HardPack has spent many moons looking at decorative buttons and has developed skills far far beyond my own . Probably many in hopefully better condition ? So far I've only found a few buttons , nothing even close to that level of fancy. Now I'll have to go back again and look for the Sea Hag and her Goons ! Just in case. Ya can never be too careful with that bunch.. 😏 Next time I'll go with the "Oh My" button , I promise ! Sorry''bout that Chief ! Missed it by THAT much ! Arrrrrr Thanks guys ! It sure was a surprise for a 10 minute hunt 🤯.. I did dig one other hole ,,,,a big fat pull tab and it was perfect !! 🤩 Maybe the nomad brought me luck ? I wasn't much of a son of the beach 🏴‍☠️ this year but it was a memorable one no doubt.and I DID kinda feel like a pirate on my way out of there ! Hopefully I can get another chance there before summah camping season starts and the queen shows up🥵 ? And it's supposed to be almost 50 in a couple of days , so maybe not totally done till spring ? , gonna try to do some beaches on nicer days . Would be nice if I could score a campsite on a beach like you 350 ! But this place still has many treasures yet uncovered....

Check Goodwill/Salvation Army/secondhand stores ! 👍 I've had amazing luck finding cases for a lot of my things there . After seeing what was there ,I made a list of things I wanted cases for with dimensions. and brought it in with a tape measure every trip. I found cases for over half of my list that fit perfect and that includes accessories where needed over a period of about a year. I only bought the HD higher end ones too. Never paid more than $10 for any of them , most were $2-$5. Go often , the good things don't last long. (I went every day , mom lived a couple of blocks away ..)

It ain't ovah , till it's ovah! 😏 Friday my Radius Nomad shovel arrived and I just went outside to see if my dirt was still frozen , It wasn't ! So I grabbed the nox and swung right behind the rig. ~15 feet away I got a jumpy signal 23-34 range so the nomad got it's first taste of dirt. I made an extra big plug remembering that knife last summer . Nothing in the hole ? so I ran the pointer around the plug and right on top dead center it went crazy ! Yeah , it is a 35 but this was different then the usual crazy. Of course when I got the PP I didn't grab the hori knife so I used the nomad , it's almost a hori near the tip anyway. It still got a little scratch but out popped this.(link instead of actual photo just cuz I can ! ) and the sun is a little anemic today , there's 4" of white on the ground and another 8 or so still up between me and the sun !
