Essex Unearthed , is that you ? I just watched the video titled UK Southend PierI caught a quick clip of the pier (I think!). I'll look at some more of the vids.... I was thinking that looked like a LOT of flat beach there.. plenty of ground to cover ! Then seeing the speed of the tide comin' in showed how flat it was ! Was that a negative low tide ? How much tide do you have there? 3-4 meter range here . sea temp just a bit above freezing today. (Air temp in the "not" numbers !🙃) Some of the negative low tides here in Maine are around a half meter. I wear my wool socks in the boots for WHEN a wave tops the rubber. It always happens LOL🙄 Pinpointer on the scoop handle ? ,,,,have to try that out !👍 (My T Rex scoop handle is almost the twin of that one on the Sito.)

Welcome aboard Dasbear ! $400 is a good price point to look for a detector . `This is a great place to find out everything you want to know about that BH and others as well.. I'm sure you'll be happy with what you end up with. Where are you going to be detecting ? Maybe there's a member of the forum near you !

Welcome aboard Dave the campfire never goes out here , Posts come in from all over the globe.. I've seen some good things about that detector. I'm sure you'll find a lot of experience here with it , or just about any detector . Poke around in the reference sections Steve has put together some good finds there !

Your results sure is making a good point on the dig it all debate ! The beach I most frequent is usually pretty clean already. If I hear a target tone , I dig it. (The T Rex might develop personality disorders if I just drag it in the sand to mark my grid all day.......)

LOL I think you started it ? Green ,,,,is the new white ?🙃 Whaaaaaat? It's always something..... Those dimes were a nice sight ! And,,,I guess , the green was too ! It's been a pretty easy winter so far, But that's over NOW OOOOOOOOIE ! It's somewhere around zero here , I'm scared to look at the thermometer...........the sun is all alone in the sky but seems to want to hide below the tree line. I've also lived in Death Valley (and Florida , Arizona , Texas , , New Mexico plus many not so hot places too , 6 months are what passes for a permanent residence for most of my life...,) so here I am maintaining the "proper balance" or some BS like that😜 I'm thinking of looking for a new digger instead of waiting for the thaw , something along the lines of a jackhammer but a little smaller , a hammer drill seems kinda not enough ,,,who am I kidding ? OK , I'm looking for one of those big excavators , do you think they're using that one on Oak Isl right now ????

Last year wasn't great for a lot of people. This year started out in a positive direction,hope it keeps going for ya ! If you think you're gonna post a story of how you got hooked on detecting and anybody here would get bored reading it. WRONG ! Those are the second best ones ! The first best are the ones featuring treasure ! You nailed it on both of 'em . (Oh , we'd have read it if all you found WERE nails too .....) Your dad was awesome ! Glad you have those memories and starting detecting again will sure keep you occupied as much as you let it ! Your collection is looking like it wants some new friends to hang out with too ! Digging nuggets outta the ice , and they're lookin' very nice! I have ice nuggets here too , but mine are white all the way through.. I have so many , but diamonds they're not. I also have them under my nose , butt they're frozen snot ! (sorry about the lame rhyming thing , songwriter's curse....can't control it sometimes)🙄

Good tip Joe, I'm keeping an eye out for deals like that ! Lots of the boat crews here wear survival suits . That flight crew suit sounds like it might be a bit chilly ! Woolies would be needed here ! AquaSeal IS amazing stuff , I use it for lots of things......

I think that works out to one target found , checked and hole dug every three minutes.. Wore me plumb out !🤗

Wow again Joe ! You done good on the suits... The guy at the dive shop told me $1500. Still wouldn't be a bad deal after looking at your plate full ! 😳 I saw a nice set of neoprene waders at Goodwill last week for $40 ! Only about 2 feet too tall for me ! So I passed on the deal. Coulda probably sliced and diced 'em with some Aqua Seal to fit though............arrrrrrrrr 😛.
