Ever Regretted Selling A Detector?
Rick N. MI replied to The Georgiadigger's topic in Metal Detector Advice & Comparisons
I regret selling my Tejon and modded Lobo ST. -
Those Tesoro's are so smooth. No noise or chattering. You can go slow and listen for those good whispers.

Good job. With persistence you got silver. I was going to go out detecting today. It was cold and I was driving to where I going until it started raining and I turned around and went home. So I lost and you won. Persistence pays off.

I'm keeping my Orx.

Nice finds for a collection.

I found a lot of old coins with that detector. I love the sounds of it. It's famous for the Sovereign wiggle. I like that it can be hip mounted. I put mine in a small backpack and hunted in the water too. There is nothing like a Sovereign. It's not good at separation but it still an incredible detector.

Wow, that is sweet heavy gold! Nice.

Equinox Sees Another Price Hike
Rick N. MI replied to ☠ Cipher's topic in Metal Detector Advice & Comparisons
With the sale probably going down on the Equinox you would think the price would come down. -
What a great find. That's awesome. I want to see small gold finds with the 6" coil.

Why Aren't More Analog Detectors Made?
Rick N. MI replied to Rick N. MI's topic in Metal Detector Advice & Comparisons
Based on there price it would $549.00. Has elliptical coils available in 2 sizes. Probably more coils will be available. -

Why Aren't More Analog Detectors Made?
Rick N. MI replied to Rick N. MI's topic in Metal Detector Advice & Comparisons
That's good Steve. I switched to a cell phone like everybody else. A good analogy. Detectors I have are Equinox 800, T2se, Xp Orx and Gold Kruzer. I don't have an analog detector right now. Analog can't replace what is out now but they still perform well. Yup the new pushes out the old. That's the way it is. -
Why Aren't More Analog Detectors Made?

I guess that leaves those who like analog to find what available or look for older detectors. -
Why Aren't More Analog Detectors Made?
Rick N. MI replied to Rick N. MI's topic in Metal Detector Advice & Comparisons
That's what I want. I like all the knobs and switches. I think I'll get a Tejon again. I miss it. -
Analog detectors like Tesoro have a great sound. Tesoro being a single tone has a very good nuance to the sounds. Coins have a very smooth sound to them. You hear click and pops going through iron but no falsing. Tesoro and other analog detectors have a different sound on larger iron. You can tell it is iron and decide to dig or not. Personally I would like to see some new analog detectors. There are a some analog detectors available like the Deeptech Vista series. I liked the Vista Gold and Gold Gain. I would like to see Tesoro again!

I would like the new Equinox in whatever format to have great waterproofing and be very light weight. Light weight is the way of the future for detectors. I wish someone would make coils designed to slice thru the water with ease for water hunters.

Let us know how well it does for you.

Rick N. MI replied to schoolofhardNox's topic in Metal Detecting For Coins & Relics
Well just imagine in the future as you get older you'll have a Deus 2 on the beaches. Nice light weight. You won't have to worry about sore muscles then.- 206 replies

If I go up a version and don't like it. Can I go down to a version I like?

I have 10k white gold earring that many detector will not hit. The Gold Kruzer hits it great in micro mode with disc 0 and tone break 22. The 5x9.5 coil hits it good. The 4x7.5 hits it even better. My Xp Orx w/ 9" hf coil the earring has to be touching the coil to get a hit. I tried my T2se with Nel Sharpshooter and it couldn't hit the earring.
