Great job cleaning your area. Nice silver. The spike looks old. I would keep it.- 206 replies

Great hunt. Nice getting the gold coin. I can only dream about that.

First Coin Of 2022
Rick N. MI replied to George Kinsey's topic in Metal Detecting For Coins & Relics
That's a nice find. Good you can out. I'll probably be able to get out in April on the sand beach. The ground will still be frozen. -
Vinegar and salt will damage coins. I like hydrogen peroxide.

Did you try the ATX in a backpack?

Digging The Old Stuff And Some Deus 2s
Rick N. MI replied to F350Platinum's topic in Metal Detecting For Coins & Relics
Nice digs. I've never found a skeleton key. I'm all snowed in too and it's been below zero the last few days. -
I've Decided To Get The Legend
Rick N. MI replied to Rick N. MI's topic in Nokta / Makro Legend Forum
I'm not a fan of the 11" coil either. I would like to see an 8" or 9" round coil and a range of elliptical coils for the Legend. -
It will be replacing my Equinox 800 and my Orx will be my backup water hunter. I like the sharp tones & the depth of the Legend. I'm also looking forward to seeing some videos of the updated version. Also looking forward to seeing what coils will be available for this detector. Hopefully more than the Equinox.

Interesting Beach Test, D2 Failing On A Broken Gold Ring
Rick N. MI replied to Sandheron's topic in XP Deus II Forum
Ok, sorry about that. Small gold will hit like small foil. On the Deus & Orx disc at 7 takes out nails. I don't know if raising the disc to 10 will make a difference on the jewelry. -
Interesting Beach Test, D2 Failing On A Broken Gold Ring

Your disc is to high. Try 6.5-7. Also try 0 disc on those rings to see what they hit. -
XP Deus II Goldfield Program For Relic Hunting
Rick N. MI replied to Ogliuga's topic in XP Deus II Forum
Copper is by Lake Superior at the west end of upper peninsula of Michigan. Some hunt the streams up there for copper. -
Was Underwater Detecting The Main Intent With Deus 2?
Rick N. MI replied to Steve Herschbach's topic in XP Deus II Forum
Great post Steve. That's what's I'm starting to see. I don't see the point in getting a D2 for my fresh water lakes. I'll be using my Orx in the water with the 9" hf coil that also get great depth on gold jewelry. I might pick up the elliptical coil too. I am keeping an eye on everything coming out but right now I'm going to use what I have. -
Indians And Buffalos

Yes, I was talking about the Equinox 800. Sorry. -
Indians And Buffalos
Rick N. MI replied to F350Platinum's topic in Metal Detecting For Coins & Relics
That's where my settings would have been relic hunting. Good you could run sensitivity 24. I like recovery 4 and haven't ran it less. With my Xp Orx I'm going to try Recovery 1 when I take it in the water. -
Indians And Buffalos
Rick N. MI replied to F350Platinum's topic in Metal Detecting For Coins & Relics
Great places you have to have to hunt. Nice finds. Always good to get IH's and Buffalo's. I haven't seen an aluminum horseshoe. Nice. -
I have high hopes for Minelab, Garrett, NM and Fisher. I'm holding out for awhile and see what's coming before I get anything new. This spring & summer I will be using my T2se and Xp Orx . My Orx in my mild sandy lakes, I don't see the Deus 2 going any deeper. That's the way it is with vlf lol.

Calabash has a video with the D2 hitting a fresh buried 12" dime. The D2, D1 and Orx go deep on gold rings. D1 and Orx at a mild freshwater beach will hit a 14"+ gold ring buried in a sandy beach. The D2 will hit that ring at same depth on wet ocean beach. I don't know if the D2 would go deeper on a mild lake beach. I have seen his videos with the Anfibio, Equinox, and Orx hitting a test silver dime at 14". I don't think the D2 will be any deeper. It might separate better, has more controls and better waterproofing.

Good question. I'm guessing the same.

First Impressions Of The Deus II
Rick N. MI replied to Erik Oostra's topic in Metal Detector Advice & Comparisons
Interesting videos. Would be easier with a sand scoop. You did get it though. Was that a silver ring? -
An upgrade Equinox will need more coil choices and light weight coils. I would like more controls of the audio so I can adjust the tones the way I want. Tones like a Deus instead of like a flute. A light weight detector with better balance. Good waterproofing and go deeper in the water. Increased separation, more depth, emi resistant. I would be happy with that for my water detector and keep the price lower.
