  1. I've hunted the lakes in northern MI for 3 years and only found one 14k gold chain and pendent. I saw you found 4 gold chains. It's surprising people don't loose a lot of chains. There are some fine chains in there too. The Nox is doing it job. Which coil did you use to find the chains? Good job!
  2. I thought so. I keep them all. I dug the nickel and checked again and had another hit. I thought there was another coin. My buddy checked it and had no hit. I had a great hit with the Gold Kruzer and pulled the square nail out. I can see that can be a problem for nugget hunters lol. I'm finding the Gold Kruzer to a great relic hunter too. To bad there isn't more coils available for the Gold Kruzer.
  3. I enjoyed the day detecting today. I didn't find much but it was fine with me. It was great just getting out doing something. We were in a big field behind an elementary school. It was all damp clay. My buddy thought it had city road dirt dropped on it years ago. In the past I have found some Indian Head pennies, Buffalo nickels, V nickels and few wheat pennies. Not a lot and they are spread over a large area. I started today with the Legend and got the buckle and a couple coins and switched to the Gold Kruzer w/ 5x9.5dd coil. I was enjoying the Gold Kruzer relic hunting. I got the square nail with it. The Gold Kruzer hits iron relics very well which I like. Not many detectors can do that well and not many people like there detector hitting iron relics. The Tejon w/ a concentric was also very good hitting iron relics. I thought it was just analog detectors that could hit iron relics well with nails disc'd out. But I'm wrong the Gold Kruzer hits the iron relics. I think it the large range on the Gold Kruzer. Iron disc out at 22 and foil is at 48. That is a large range. I think that's why it works so well for gold nuggets and for iron relics. I enjoy digging iron relics. I suppose it's because I live in northern Michigan and it's a tougher area to find great stuff. That's why I'm really happy with the square nail lol. I consider that a great find for me. I was happy when I dug it up lol.
  4. Went back to the park on the beach again. It's 2 miles from my house. Today I found a 1943 silver war nickel and a nicely mushroomed 22 lead using the Xp Orx. There is no foil and I only dug 1 pulltab on the beach. It's just a very quiet beach. In the past I have found 2 gold rings on the beach and in the water a gold chain with a gold pendant and 2 silver earrings. For an old boys camp there isn't much there. The campground there is packed all summer. Maybe with covid going down, there will be more swimmers.
  5. Same with me, upgraded good with an AMD Ryzen CPU laptop.
  6. Great video Aaron and great gold find. Can't beat that.
  7. They are thin breathable waders. It's probably to cold.
  8. I started out today with the Gold Kruzer hunting for micro jewelry in a tot lot and on a beach. Just to many super tiny targets. Some of them were about 1/16" round thin targets. I haven't found enough gold to make it worth while to hunt for micro gold. Then I took the Legend to a beach by my house that used to be a boys camp. I remember it when I was a kid. Not many targets on the beach. Haven't been finding much in the water either. I wonder if covid is affecting that. Anyway I did find a 1936 Buffalo nickel. Yea! I was using the Legend in Field mode, Sensitivity 30, Disc at 10, Recovery 3. The nickel was a deep target. I was on the edge of the lake. It got up the 66F today. I'm going to try using my waders in the water and see if it's to cold. The ice sunk not long ago.
  9. I used the headphone adapter in the water with my regular headphones. I keep my detectors clean :).
  10. "The coil doesn’t know it’s on backwards." That's right and that's funny.
  11. Turning the coil around does help making it feel lighter. It moves the weight away from the front. Some detectors with more weight on the back and you have to extend the coil to get a balance. The Legend does really get a balance point. It just feels lighter moving the weight in closer to you.
  12. I turned the coil around and shortened it up as close to my feet as I can get and I use a loose grip mostly holding it with my fingers. It helps balance better for me.
  13. That is really interesting. Have you tried smaller gold, like gold earrings and gold chains?
  14. Were you using the 11" coil or 6" coil? Good jobs getting some good coins out of that. It sounds it ran very well in the iron.
