A Preliminary Report On The Legend
Rick N. MI replied to Rick N. MI's topic in Nokta / Makro Legend Forum
I went to a field close to me I haven't hunted. My Dad told me there used to be a house there. Only hunted for about 15 min with the Legend till I got to cold from the winds. I tried Park, Field and Gold modes. The Legend ran very quiet and smooth. I dug a 22 shell and few pieces rusty tin. I was surprised how smooth Gold mode ran. I hunted most of time in Gold mode. I will build some arm muscles with the 11" coil. The Legend is doing as good as I hoped. -
My legend is 1.05 and is running very well. I've only been in my test garden so far. It's been a cold April in n. MI. Today 41F and high winds. My ground is very mild and I'm able to run sensitivity at 30. I used 2 tone. I'm not that concerned with id. I set my tone break and don't go by id much. If different modes have different id's. That doesn't bother me. 2 of my test coins I can't get a hit with a couple of my detectors. They are 7" & 8" dimes with not planted iron by them. The Legend hits them easy as does the Equinox 800. I'm impressed with the gold mode on the Legend. It is very powerful and hit the 2 dimes the hardest. It's going to be a great in the lakes and relic hunter. As soon as I can get out I'm taking it to heavy iron site to see how much iron falsing it has. The Equinox with F2 0 drives me crazy with all the falsing. Videos I've watched on the Legend, I haven't seen much falsing but we don't know where iron mask is set. Right now it is good. I'm happy with it the way it is. With the 11" coil, it is heavier than the Equinox but with the shaft shortened and moved in closer it's doesn't feel bad. I'm looking forward to a real hunt.

Question To Legend Users!
Rick N. MI replied to Nokta Detectors's topic in Nokta / Makro Legend Forum
Yes, that's what it was. The volume was to low. Now it's working great. I have 2 coins that some detector can't hit. The Legend hit them. I will be using it in lakes and relic hunts. I'm looking forward to more coils for it. The 11" coil is little heavy. An 8" or 9" round coil would be just right for me. -

A bolder line around the selected picture would help showing where you are. -
Question To Legend Users!
Rick N. MI replied to Nokta Detectors's topic in Nokta / Makro Legend Forum
I would like deep targets a little louder or a setting to adjust how loud a deep target is. I have a little hearing loss and deep targets are a whisper. I do hear it but louder would be nice. -
I use the Gold Kruzer on beaches and in water for micro gold and I relic hunt with it. I had White's GMX that I used in lakes. I liked it lot and wish I hadn't sold it. It's unfortunate no coils were made for water hunting. It's the same as White's 24k but waterproof. It would hit micro gold with disc set to take out nails. It's such a unique detector I think it would be a good relic hunter too. I would like to get a Garrett 24k in the future.

First Silver With The Legend

I like the tone on the dime. -
How are you liking the Quest Q60 so far.

Only got out for about 1 hour today at old school. Out in the field there used be some kind of building or house. A lot of iron and got a few IH's and other coins in the past. I've hunted for a few years there and don't get anything there anymore. I took the Gold Kruzer over there today. I used Deep mode with 5x9.5 dd coil. I dug a couple bullets and lead. A piece of iron and little pieces of canning lids that are shredded all over the place there. Hardly worth posting but I did anyway. Sorry about that.

Doesn't get better than that. I went out today and got junk. -
That coin is really nice. I found one yet.

The Rutus Atrex is interesting. I would like to see it in America and would like to see a waterproof one. -

Wow, you dug a lot of stuff. Besides the great gold ring and other stuff, I like the old bottle opener. -
Ever Regretted Selling A Detector?
Rick N. MI replied to The Georgiadigger's topic in Metal Detector Advice & Comparisons
I regret selling my Tejon and modded Lobo ST. -
Those Tesoro's are so smooth. No noise or chattering. You can go slow and listen for those good whispers.
-
Good job. With persistence you got silver. I was going to go out detecting today. It was cold and I was driving to where I going until it started raining and I turned around and went home. So I lost and you won. Persistence pays off.

I'm keeping my Orx.

Nice finds for a collection.

I found a lot of old coins with that detector. I love the sounds of it. It's famous for the Sovereign wiggle. I like that it can be hip mounted. I put mine in a small backpack and hunted in the water too. There is nothing like a Sovereign. It's not good at separation but it still an incredible detector.

Wow, that is sweet heavy gold! Nice.
