  1. You can put some vinegar in the water. It shouldn't hurt anything. It might make more hydrogen gas. Electrolysis needs an electrolyte like salt or baking soda to work. When you soak iron in white vinegar it might need to be soaked for awhile.
  2. I've only found 1 gold chain in a parking lot and money. I always keep eye out for gold as I walk in.
  3. Great iron relics. I love finding those. I've let some of them soak for a week in white vinegar and all the rust is gone.
  4. That's a nice find. Nice spotting it with your eyes. I count that.
  5. I'm wondering if there will be a high frequency coils available for it.
  6. From what I see in photos, it looks like there is no cable and battery going in the shaft. The opens up other opportunities that I like. I am interested in Nokta/Makro and this one w/ 9" coil. It doesn't look like there will be hf coils. Need to see more.
  7. I wonder how bone headphones are when you have some hearing loss. I wear a hearing aid but I don't need it with headphones.
  8. I hope the Legend can come off like that. If it can I'll hip mount it and use a carbon fiber shaft for water hunting. This shaft is designed for the Equinox. The lower shaft on it is 3/8" dia. All it needs is an upper shaft and a handle attached. It will work. The upper handle I have is like the T2/F75. That will work so nice sweeping thru the water. Imagine this sweeping thru the water.
  9. I like this feature. I hope it works great. I'm going to get this detector when smaller coils are available. I would like an 8" or 9" round coil and a 5x9.5 elliptical coil.
  10. I was wondering that too. When videos showed up with it I thought it was about a month for it to get here. I hope a waterproof detector comes with it lol.
  11. T2se balances on your finger at the grip. The 24k/GMX are great detectors. Something special with them. I had GMX and should have kept it. Would be used on lake beaches, shallow water and maybe some relic hunts. Would rather have it waterproof but that's the way it is.
  12. The weight is about the same as a T2se. Is the balance of a 24k similar to the T2se?
  13. You got me there. I need to hear it and see tests like everybody else.
  14. Especially to water hunters who have the Equinox and there warranties have expired. Plus the leaking problems with it. I'm sure Minelab has something up there sleeve coming soon to follow up on the Legend. The Nokta Legend looks like a solid, powerful detector with good waterproofing.
  15. I don't like the coils, 11" & 6". I'm sure there will be more to come. I want to see an 8" or 9" coil standard coil for it. It seems like they are all standard 11" coils. I want to hear it. What are harmonic sounds? I'm not a fan of the sounds on the other brand. Maybe the Legend will have more adjustments to get the sound to your liking. Not a lot of info on it yet. Needs more videos. Price seems good.
  16. Great hunt site. It feels so good finding your first Barber. I think everyone remembers there first one.
  17. I don't know which coils you were using. To do best in iron sites and nail board tests you need small coils. With the AT Max the 5x8 coil would do a lot better. To do even better with the AT Max use a Nel 3.5x6.5 or 5" coils.
  18. lol, yes that would work. Somebody told me I could legally kayak by a house on a lake using my detector in the water and get out and dig a target. So there ya go. You can have your detector and paddle too. lol
  19. I didn't expect this coil would be used in the water. I can't image swinging it in the water either. My T2 I wouldn't be taking it in the water. It does need a light weight coil. I'm going to have to pass on this coil.
  20. Right now I have the Xp Orx w/ 9" hf coil and the T2se w/ 3 coils. I'm very happy with the separation and depth of the Orx. I do prefer single frequency in my mild ground. I just like the sound better in single frequency detectors and with the smf detector I had. I'm anxious to hear the sounds of the smf of the Deus 2 & Nokta.
  21. Thanks everyone. Good info. I can understand where some want accurate id. I'm not against smf. I've used the Equinox 800 for quite awhile. I'm on my 2nd Nox and after water hunting for 3 years I don't trust it anymore. I will probably get one of the new smf detectors to replace the Nox. I do really like the performance of the Orx though and will be using it too.
  22. I mostly hunt in lakes and the bottoms are mostly all sand. A test on a sandy beach with the Equinox 800 and Xp Orx, both hit hard on a 14k 3.7 gram gold ring buried at 14". For mild ground I don't see a need for multi frequency. I do like the multiple frequencies on the Orx. Is there an advantage to multi frequency in mild ground?
