Great find that you found today, now what is it going to be tomorrow? I hope that you get something bigger and better.
Cal
Thanks all, but on further investigation, I'm pretty sure this is fake having 2 dates on it. What a bummer.
SeabeeRon
Is this the pendant with the Queen on one side and a gold Peso on the other?
Cal
Yes it is. I took it to my jeweler today and the coin tested 18k and the benzel 10k. The picture doesn't do it justice. Also the date was 1945, mis Id the date.
SeabeeRon
This is a better picture than on the other forum I saw it on! Good job!! Is it two coins? The Isle of Man coin and a DOS Peso??
Cal
No I think it is one. It weights more than 1 coin with the bezel, but not enough for 2 coins I think. I tried to load this picture on the other forum but no go.
kac
Good possibility it is a real gold coin. I would think if they made it as a pendant it wouldn't be set into a bezel. Bezel may or may not be pure. Put it under a magnifying glass, look at the scratches and see if you see same metal color or if there is copper or zinc below. Sitting in the dirt I'm sure there are some scratches. Congrats!
SeabeeRon
The issue I have with it being real is another picture I have seen of it the obverse of this pendant coin show Queen Elizebeth on an Isle of Man coin? Either way, interesting find!
