Popular Post relicmeister
This weekend I went to a cool new location with multiple late 19th century cellar holes. Was using my Orx with 9” X35 at 17 KHz A few interesting relics found but by far the best find was this 1864 2- cent piece which is in really nice condition with a great patina. Only my second 2- cent but the first was smoked by the fertilizer used in the park it was found in. Could barely identify it. I’ll be going back to the spot multiple times as I haven’t even explored the area yet. Also found an 1884 IHP Figured I’d post as the XP forum has been a little slow of late.

GB_Amateur
Kac found one of these and we discussed small motto vs. large motto. Look carefully at the inset photos (upper right) here and see if you can determine. Either way a great find (particularly the condition) but hoping for your sake it's the small motto.
kac
Great find. Yours looks like a large moto, same as ones I have found but in awesome condition! Coins like that in that era you may want to dig your folded ring tabs as they can be flying eagles and dig the smaller hits for Trimes and other small hard to find coins. 2 cent in the area is a really good sign for others.

relicmeister
Appreciate the comments fellas. could tell on the spot it was in nice shape and used minimal cleaning which was fingernail scratching followed by careful use of Andres pencil and finally a nose oil rub and pants shine. procedure I use on non silver coins.
Rick N. MI
Very nice find. I don't think a better could be found. I've never found one but my buddy found one in very heavy iron. I had been over that spot many times and didn't hear it. He was using a Minelab Advantage.
