Unfortunately, I hit the lenses pretty hard with the scoop.  I actually had to bend the frame back quite a bit. I will have to be more careful but despite its size the signal was "soft" and I thought much deeper.

Thanks Aaron, I've been detecting for many years but I might be having more fun hunting now than I ever have- not just because of some recent finds but also from what I have learned which should help with future finds.

Thanks o.g., Yes, especially, since I really didn't have high expectations. It was nice just hunting on a cool, dark and quiet beach but finding some good targets was icing on the cake.
